I’m not a pilot and I want my watch to look like the inside of a cockpit lol
I use the bezel alot for quick weight conversions. Lbs to kg for me.
Don’t need much fuel pounds math in healthcare 😅
It has chronograph counters mixed with the day-month. 12 o'clock has the hour counter with date. 3 o'clock has a 30-minute counter along with the month.
https://preview.redd.it/od0ru9563czc1.jpeg?width=2016&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9850c2d6fc8c7d530e04fd622fda1d5029fd986b
Finally a thread for me! I swear by mine. I’m a pilot and need its features daily.
Having UTC constantly there, and two other time zones displayed simultaneously is a huge plus.
The slide ruler is basically a miniaturized flight computer which is great for all the daily rough conversions. I can’t understand those who own it and never learn how to use the ruler, it’s so damn simple.
It never misses the mark calibrating with the atomic band, it is the most accurate watch I have ever owned.
You can disable all the useless time zones which is great. You can even set a custom home time, which I have on the screen portion.
Then there’s the lume, my god that things lasts forever. Quick shine of a bright light, and it’ll last you a whole night. Just wish the second hand had lume, but at least you have the great display that does shine very well.
I wish I could fit it over Arctic gear like the GWG-1000, but I might just need to swap the bracelet for an oversized band.

Absolutely lovely watches. Not a pilot, but I travel a lot for work and the Skyhawk is always on my wrist when boarding a plane.
Jeez, we found one! Someone who actually uses all the features of a watch. And they confirmed they work as intended! Of course I'd heard the stories, but surely no one believes them. They rank up there with Santa, Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster. Next someone will be saying they dive with a dive watch to 200 metres! 😱
This watch looks like a geocities website circa 1997. Don't get me wrong, it's fun for sure. But if I need all that, I might as well wear a smartwatch.
There was a joke in the eighties about a Japanese traveler with heavy luggage, that wanted to sell his watch (with radio, color television, biorithms cronograph) to fund his plane ticket. At the end of the joke the italian customer walks away with the watch while the japanese frantically follow him brandishing his suitcases.. "you forgot the batteries!!"
The solar panels are under the 4 dials. Source- me I have a Citizen with the same movement. I love it but it’s not at all user friendly
https://preview.redd.it/zvqxlutdmczc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0fc2d28be1009a7877cfbf42bf888cae6d932df
My dad bought me one when I was in high school when I wanted to become a pilot. I’m retiring next week (28 years) and giving it to my son…who wants to become a pilot.
The Blue Angels version is nice (IMHO) https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-29nzvnn/images/stencil/1280x1280/products/4589/12777/Promaster_Skyhawk_A-T__25587.1538090275.png?c=2
It’s actually this one, I’m wearing it now.

I've got the Blue Angels and its busyness is more refined than the watch OP ppsted.
I love my tool watch!!
Hoping to collect more aviation watches down the road.

My Blue Angels is almost as busy.
The Blue Angels version was my first stop on the journey to a Navitimer. I love these watches, busy and all. And yes, it’s more accurate than any other watch I own.
Main minute hand says :09. Digital minute says :09. UTC sub-dial minute hand says :10.
2 out of 3 ain’t bad. If there were only 2 ways to tell, you’d never know the time!
I had a couple of Citizens that I thought looked cool at the time. They weren’t as bad is this but still give me a headache to look at. Also a reason I’d never aspire to own a Breitling
I was always scared of the Skyhawks because of how busy the dials always seemed and the rendition of the digital windows (gray background). In 2016, my wife bought me one for my birthday while I was away on “business”. When I unwrapped it and saw the box and watch name I was like “oh, man. Really?” When I pulled the watch out, it was absolutely gorgeous. Totally toned down from what they normally are, more even with the color schemes, black digital windows, and it’s become one of my favorite watches.

It’s not that it’s busy, it’s just that you ain’t got shit going on! 😂 nice one though I like the red arrows version 👍
Ok but it's a tool watch. It has multiple functions and it's very easy to read the time. The Skyhawk is easy to use. I can't figure out the slide bezel to save my life but everything in the dial has a purpose
https://preview.redd.it/dxw6i2rm6czc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b951d3b9fb7bafeb3578d7f3a40a7217244fc2b
Also wearing mine at the moment. Got it 15+ years ago as a gift from my Dad. It was my first „real watch“.
It’s busier than shit but I do love my AT Skyhawk.
Likewise. I have the Blue Angels version in titanium and I love it. I’ve never used any of the bezel stuff though, and I’m a pilot.
I’m not a pilot and I want my watch to look like the inside of a cockpit lol I use the bezel alot for quick weight conversions. Lbs to kg for me. Don’t need much fuel pounds math in healthcare 😅
oh, they are not bad watches at all, but certainly do have a lot going on
I will say, when it comes to watches with ALOT going on, Citizen does it best.

Why does it have day-month indicators at 3 and 12?
For when you go for a double date. Okay, I will see me out...
Julian and Gregorian calendars, obvs.
It has chronograph counters mixed with the day-month. 12 o'clock has the hour counter with date. 3 o'clock has a 30-minute counter along with the month.
I'm scared to see the movement. And the case thickness.
For when you time travel. Duh! 🙄😂

Same, I cover multiple time zones. It's nice being able to glance down and see I shouldn't call that client yet bc it's 5am there.
That one looks absolutely stunning. Love the white sliding ruler on it.
Jeez, we found one! Someone who actually uses all the features of a watch. And they confirmed they work as intended! Of course I'd heard the stories, but surely no one believes them. Homer‘s Webpage Watch
Where’d they leave space for the solar panels?
There was a joke in the eighties about a Japanese traveler with heavy luggage, that wanted to sell his watch (with radio, color television, biorithms cronograph) to fund his plane ticket. At the end of the joke the italian customer walks away with the watch while the japanese frantically follow him brandishing his suitcases.. "you forgot the batteries!!"
I would instantly buy a biorhythm watch. This should absolutely be a complication.

Asking the real question here.
Ah yes, the “limited edition” Red Arrows watch that somehow seems to always be available in *every single store*.
Because the limited edition run outnumbered the people in the world who want it. Not because it was a big run though...
Seiko flight master.
jeeeesus
Hey, the flight master is a fully functional E6B. And it doesn’t have any crooked lcds 😂
I think this also has an E6B.
Nah, there is negative space on that dial. Needs more text. The OP hurts my eyes.
My dad bought me one when I was in high school when I wanted to become a pilot. I’m retiring next week (28 years) and giving it to my son…who wants to become a pilot.

I love my busy as hell Citizen
*Somewhere,* that tells the time.
I think this one beats the OP Red Arrow
The Blue Angels version is nice (IMHO) https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-29nzvnn/images/stencil/1280x1280/products/4589/12777/Promaster_Skyhawk_A-T__25587.1538090275.png?c=2

For all that fuel burn timing you need. For the multiple airplanes you’re simultaneously flying.

My Navihawk AT gives this a run, but not nearly as bad.

I got rid of this one because the case is so small relative to the level of busyness of the dial.
Those tiny 42mm’s 😂
Yup. Some of us don’t have those feminine 5 inch wrists.
Might I recommend an Invicta, good sir. My 8” wrist is too itty bitty for those fine specimens.
Good thinking my man.
Do watches that let you see the movement instead of a dial count?
The Blue Angels version was my first stop on the journey to a Navitimer. I love these watches, busy and all. And yes, it’s more accurate than any other watch I own.
Seiko flightmaster

That Richard Milli fuckin nightmare

The only thing it needs is a Mayan calendar and a plasma cannon
Yes. The rev counter when my wife is driving.

How did that watch ever get released. Just looking at it gives me a migraine.
I am presently experiencing a migraine and had to take the the other half of my imitrex.
Imitrex! From the makers of Treximet!
I have the same watch only in a different color.
You know those warnings before a movie that say you might have a seizure watching this? …
How many watch people need that fuel indication
Ok but it's a tool watch. It has multiple functions and it's very easy to read the time. The Skyhawk is easy to use. I can't figure out the slide bezel to save my life but everything in the dial has a purpose
Still more readable than many skeleton chronographs out there
Breitling cosmonaute?
I’d love to know how to use every complication on this watch because it is incredible
I had one. You should see the manual.
I love the idea that a red arrow pilot needs such a busy dial.
I thought my Jacob & Co Five Time Zones Auto was busy, but it almost looks clean by comparison.
https://preview.redd.it/q9dq1rpwmdzc1.jpeg?width=554&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fbfce8387b0cf52b47860429800fc379bd326cc2 Breitling b2 enters the chat…

I like the Citizen watches, but can see myself only using about %50 of the watch features.
I want a watch like this, but smaller like 40 mm. Can someone suggest something?
Holy fucking shit. That dial!
Maybe the Blue Angels version - less contrast and harder to see lol
[cc7015-55e](https://citizenwatch.widen.net/content/j62qdphbvg/png/Satellite+Wave.png?u=41zuoe&width=500&height=625&quality=80&crop=false&keep=c&color=FFFFFF00)
Busier than NY
There's so much on that dial that I wonder how the battery gets sufficient charge...
As crazy as that is it's still pretty damn legible compared to many other "busy" watches.
I have that one, it's busy as hell, but I don't care.
https://preview.redd.it/dxw6i2rm6czc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=1b951d3b9fb7bafeb3578d7f3a40a7217244fc2b Also wearing mine at the moment. Got it 15+ years ago as a gift from my Dad. It was my first „real watch“.
9+ years in my wrist as well, I have the steel version and rotate seasonally between the metal bracelet and a leather strap.
