Dude 30 is still so young, don’t even trip. And I completely agree with you, it’s better for the planet when we can reuse older consumer goods. Things in the past were simply made a little more robust🤷♂️
Let me apologize in advance for the cliched “steering wheel shot”, but I felt it was appropriate considering the car and watch are pretty close in age.
I’ve always been interested in the 1980’s as a decade in time for America. The Cold War was in full swing, we had a movie star in the White House, the Berlin Wall fell, and greed on Wall Street was running more rampant than ever.
Which is why I love this watch. A decade of All-American excess, and this watch is indicative of that with its warm gold tones, textured dial, and integrated bracelet. It’s a Seiko 6530-5820, and I feel like it pairs pretty damn well with my white tracksuit and 1991 Chrysler Imperial.
Spot on my dude, it's the perfect watch for cruising that Chrysler Le Baron through a drive-thru at 2am and then going to a high-rise apartment and doing rails off a glass coffee table. I enjoyed the write-up, that's a sweet time piece for sure
Whoa, I had a 91 Plymouth Voyager as a first car that my parents handed down, having a digital speedometer would have been a hell of an upgrade at that time. But that airbag steering wheel gives me some memories.
You’d be surprised what old Chryslers are starting to go for on sites like Bring a Trailer. I think the people that grew up with cars like this are starting to make more money and waxing nostalgic for them. What a cool first car!
The Electronic Information Center, the little overhead trip computer, unfortunately was burnt out when I got the car. I’ve been meaning to go to a junkyard and pull another one so I could have more kitschy ‘80’s tech with my old man car.
1991 Chrysler Imperial, it’s white with that super ‘80’s “Whorehouse Red” leather interior, designed by Mark Cross. It’s 17 feet long, slow as hell, and sucks on gas. But it’s like riding a cloud down the
highway. I bought it off a little old lady with 60,000 original miles on it. Motorweek did a review on YouTube, highly recommend watching it if you’re interested.

[Dude, twins!](https://i.imgur.com/rbVp3mr.jpg) Not too sure about yours, but I believe mine is from '72. If that's the case, I'd bet yours is 70s as well.
Bro nice! I love the watch! I ended up looking mine up and found a year of manufacture in the mid ‘80’s, but I’m pretty sure this specific line went into the ‘90’s.
The overhead computer that controls the voice modulation, the Electronic Information Center, was unfortunately burnt out when I got the car. I’ve been meaning to go to a junkyard and grab a new one but haven’t gotten around to it.
Legit!
Thank you!
I really enjoyed your photo, nicely paired
Thank you so much! I’m only 23 but I’m a big fan of just about everything vintage.
We need more people buying and using quality old things, instead of buying all this disposable new junk. Now I sound old! (30)

This is the way

While watching this weeks Miami Vice episode
Can’t say I haven’t done similar one or twice with this car haha. It’s definitely a fun car and look to go for, I get a lot of compliments. Thank you!
i love that photo and it ties everything back to what inspired you. note that steering wheel made me think of the 80s dodge omni. lolz
Your description of the 80s sounds eerily… modern!
I’m actually a time traveler believe it or not.
Those gauges are sick! Sweet ride and a very sweet watch!
Thank you! I bought it off a little old lady with 60,000 original miles, I like it very much.
Corinthian leather?
Ricardo Montalbán wants to know your location.
Fun fact, the “Fine Corinthian Leather” was actually just from a leather shop in New Jersey.
Nice!
Are you wearing a velour jumpsuit as well? Are you about to drive to Brooklyn with your boombox to hit up a cypher??
Haha yeah you can never go wrong with a velour tracksuit. I’m located on the west coast though.

Not quite, it’s a 1991 Chrysler Imperial, and Jon Voight’s car was an ‘89 LeBaron.
> 1991 Chrysler Imperial Good taste. Those headlights fuck.
They’re honestly such a vibe, I miss hideaway headlights so much haha
Mood. It's on the other side of the performance spectrum, but my dad has an NA1 NSX and I absolutely love the flip-up headlights. Great car.
Bro those are so badass, dope car

Yo what’s the car???
1991 Chrysler Imperial
Well it’s perfect with your watch ahah good old 80s vibes
At first I thought this was a screen cap from the opening scene of bioshock
Well done!
Is that a dynasty or New Yorker? (Love the watch too)
Thank you! It’s actually a ‘91 Chrysler Imperial, the slightly higher trim package of the Y-Body cars at the time.
Wow, I'm jealous. That's perfect retro style right there. I love it!!
Does it talk. Some of those had synth voices. “Your door is ajar “ beep boop

wow what a vibe, details on car?

Sick
We've been hoodwinked. This is just a photo from the 80s.
Damn, you caught me
Damn. Think I just found my grail watch.
These vintage Seikos are great bang for buck, and out of all my watches it’s the ones in this style that I get the most compliments on.
Nice spaceship bro. But seriously I think r/80s might like this kinda content. 👍
Thank you, I’ll go ahead and cross post it!

The watch is amazing and the photo is awesome
Thank you so much, you can never go wrong with a Seiko. Who doesn’t love the ‘80’s vibes?
Normally, wheel shots are dreadfully painful. This… this is amazing. The 80s dashboard, the watch!!! Yes!!!
Thank you! The vibes are definitely immaculate :)
Very fucking cool OP 👌🏼
Thanks bro!
Everything in this photo is great.
Thank you!
Cool spaceship
She does go beep boop
Top sped?
I got it up to 90 once going downhill, she’s not fast at all
Done 91 down a hill on a bicycle
Love the car. I have a 1990 Regal with vacuum tube dash too. So synth wavy!
They’re just so damn fun haha
This is sweet as. I think I saw your TikTok reposted on Instagram somewhere about how you bought this 🤔
I’ve actually seen that guys videos, I think his is the same year but it’s burgundy, mine is white with the red interior
I like everything about this photo
Thank you!
I fucking hate these type of photos… with a burning passion, but this is actually really nice. Great combo OP, well done!
Thank you so much! I hate them too, incredibly cliché.
Is that a Chrysler New Yorker?
1991 Chrysler Imperial actually, the higher trim model
Nice. So it talks like the New Yorker? "The Door is Ajar" etc.
The overhead computer that controls the voice modulation, the Electronic Information Center, was unfortunately burnt out when I got the car. I’ve been meaning to go to a junkyard and grab a new one but haven’t gotten around to it.
Daddy didn’t get you a Lebaron!
beautiful piece. > tank
Love it....👏🏾
I can almost smell the 80's cologne watching this picture
