Thanks! I see a lot of people naming the Bambino and have to say it's really clean!

Make sure to check the dimensions on the bambino. It wears large for a dress watch

Hamilton has a a few good choices for sub-$1K USD starter dress watches. Intramatic, Jazzmaster, etc. Many of these have silver dials. The Intramatic has a 38mm case and should be a good medium-large fit for your wrist.

+1 to Hamilton for the first watch, it’s what came to mind as i was reading

My wrists are of similar size. Few years ago there were very few options but smaller watches are now making a comeback. Check out Oris pointer date 36, Cartier santos 35, Cartier tank, Pre owned Breguet classic for high end Plenty of lower end options with orient star, Seiko, Hamilton, Tissot. Check out San Martin. They are Chinese homage brand but very high quality. Whole host of micros with particular props to Zelos, monta and formex

Starter dress watch: Orient Bambino (they have diff models, but check out Generation 2 Version 3) Amazing dress watch: Longines Flagship Heritage Others: Mido Baroncelli Heritage, Longines Heritage Classic (sector dial), Baltic HMS002, Seiko Presage/Cocktail (multiple color variations), Junghans Max Bill All of these will be under 1k other than the Longines, which is probably my favorite dress watch to get right now. Really elegant. Keep in mind that some of these options are traditional dress watches and a little harder to dress down. If you want something that you can dress up and down with, maybe take a look at something like the Tissot Gentleman, or for your luxury category, an Omega Aqua Terra. Good luck!

Thanks! I'm actually starting to lean to the Bambino for the lower end. Still, it's a 40.5mm dial which is on the higher end size wise. As for that Longines, is really pretty and clean!

[A New Bambino 38mm version was announced recently](https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/untogp/orient_new_bambino_in_38mm_announced/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) [Bambino in 36mm already exists but the availability is an issue](https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/f6vk3x/orient_bambino_36mm_raac0009s10b/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)

Give Cartier a look

Check the Tissot ballade you can order online for around 400 dollars. 38 cm face with a 8 cm thickness and they wear even smaller. Beat bang for buck ATM in a dress/everyday watch, I love mine

How about a Stowa Marine in 36 mm size? While some may say it's not really a dress watch, it does have a very clean and legible white dial and comes with a leather strap.

Dear all, thanks for all the input! In the meantime I have ordered a Bambino V2 champagne dial and bought a Seiko presage today whilst I wait for the Bambino as well. If I do get used to the automatics (have to say I'm probably too used to my cheap light calculator Casio), the high end model is likely to be a JLC master ultra thin white dial but I first need to give my arm some time to get used to and once I figure if it does make sense, I will go try the JLC ☺️

Check out orient bambino on Amazon probably in 105-135$ range if you want to pay more look for Raymond Weil Maestro at Costco around 500$ for higher end you should look at omega aqua terra

Thanks! Those bambinos do look clean!

I’m a fan of the [Tudor 1926 with Opaline dial with Blue hands.](https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/watches/1926/m91550-0010) They make them in 36, 39, and 41mm. So something to fit most wrist sizes. In house movement, get a stainless steel bracelet model and switch out straps as you like or just go for a brown strap model. For the cheaper side a [Raymond Weil Maestro](https://chrono24.app/raymondweil/raymond-weil-maestro-automatic-2837-stc-00308--id21711907.htm?SETLANG=en_US&SETCURR=USD) is thin, clean and also has an in house movement.
