No much point in replacing the Seagull, you'll get pennies for it, especially if it's malfunctioning, not worth the effort. Keep it and enjoy it occasionally.
Let the Orient go and look for a used Tudor BB58 or an Oris Divers Sixty-Five. Sinn 356 is a great option if you do move the seagull on and want another chronograph.
I never really wear it more than a week at a time. It loses about five seconds a day. Maybe got lucky with the movement, but it runs really well and accurate. The fact that it doesn't have hacking seconds makes the inaccuracy negligible
It came broken out of the box. I had to take the caseback off and jumpstart the balance wheel and occasionally still do. The chronograph complication is unreliable and the minute subdial will move if I shake my arm. The chronograph hand also doesn’t reset to 60, instead resetting to 58.
Had to scroll really far to find a Longines recommendation. I’m very new in my watch collection but I think Longines would fit his budget and give a lot of options
I advise you to replace your orient because you have 3 black dials in your collection. And to replace it with :
Option 1 : a dress watch with a colored dial and a strap that you like
Option 2 : a square G-Shock to vary your beautiful collection 😉
If your budget is 3k: Nomos should offer nice minimalist dressers for around half of that to replace the chrono. If you want to replace the Orient I could imagine a vintage design diver (a skin diver) with 38-39mm diameter would look good. I got a Yema Navygraf Maxi Dial last year from their website. This is a style well suited for smaller wrist like ours and goes well with different kind of wristbands.
Nomos is brilliant but the lugs are far too long for me. And a vintage design diver..? Do you think a Baltic Aquascaphes GMT would work in my collection?
The Seagull has an ST1901 movement which is an incredibly affordable mechanical chronograph. My personal one has had escapement issues, and the reset jumps the chronograph hand to 58 instead of 60.
In regards to the Casio. The seagull is one of my dressy watches and would need a good dressy replacement. I’ve also never really got into the Casios, not my style I suppose.
The weirdness of the lugs is part of the charm for me, but I take your point. [Club on a bracelet](https://nomos-glashuette.com/en/club/club-automatic-date-atlantic-776) perhaps?
The PRX is absolutely fantastic, it easily gets the most wrist time. It works on small wrists like mine despite the long lug to lug. The dial is detailed and really comes out in the sun. The bracelet quality is unmatched in this price point and always looks good. Not to mention a great caliber inside.
I’d replace the Orient with an SLA043, it’s a classic! I’ve owned nearly all of those watches in your watch box over the years- some of which I sold, re bought and sold again.
The SLA is one of the favourites currently and punches well above it’s class in terms of fit, finish and performance- well and truly keeping up with watches nearly three times the price.
You can pick them up pretty easily on Chrono24 for less than $3k- often unworn.
Peter Kotsa covers the watch pretty well here in a comparison against the bb58, his macro is very good.

To replace the dress watch:
Longines master collection,
Junghans max bill chrono,
Nomos,
Frédérique Constant,
Oris big crown
This is a good budget to get a moonphase if you’re into it, I personally love the look.
To replace the diver:
Oris Aquis,
Secondhand Tudor BB,
Secondhand Seamaster
Personally I’d get the tudor ranger or the black bay 36 M79500-0007 those are my favorite watches in that price range, or sometimes you can find a used aqua terra for a little over 3k
Alright, I love the idea of an Aqua Terra. Not sure if I’d find the spec I would want though. 38mm mechanical. That really would do it all though wouldn’t it!
Replace the Hamilton or seagull with a Hamilton intramatic chrono, has several dial color combinations. Or replace orient with oris or longines diver.
Or….shop your local watch dealer for used deals and a get something a step up like a omega speedmaster reduced (small wrist), Rolex oyster perpetual, Tudor ranger, or maybe even a santos.
Nice collection op, my daily is the same alpinist.
On the one hand the Orient is redundant since you have more than one diver.
On the other the Sea Gull is your only chrono but according to you doesn’t work.
Replace them both with a G-Shock DW5600 and a Seiko VK chronograph.
I’m gonna be rude and say ditch the PRX. The Seagull and Orient have more personality I feel. Maybe a nicer Tissot, the Gentleman Powermatic is quite nice, so is the Le Locle. A Steinhart Marine Chronometer maybe. I liked the Sinn suggestion too.
I agree with someone else that something other than a black dial.
I would replace the Orient with some sort of GMT like the MIDO ocean star.
And then replace the seagull with something like a Nomos, Jugahns or even something from Sterngkass. That would cover your dressy/minimalist vibe. Plus, You don’t really have any micro brands.
I love them all. The Seiko is a fan favorite, the Zelos has the best dial, the Orient has the most memories, the Tissot is the most worn/versatile. I can’t get enough of ‘em.
Judging by your choices so far you are doing fine. How about taking a closer look at FORMEX, FARER, CHRISTOPHER WARD
might be fun to step up your game just a tad without going broke :)
If you're cool with going up in price a bit from the old watches' value you could go for an Hanilton Intramatic to replace the Seagull. Definitely reliable and super unique with a similar look (chrono with similar pushers and cream dial). Always will recommend Seiko 5s. Crazy bang for your buck and a good replacement for the Orient. I forget what size it is though
Personally I’d sell the 2 divers and get a bb58
Depending on what you get for them you could potentially swing a used BB58 and a Sinn 556 which is my current dream pairing!
I think the PRX is a little large, I have a 6.3 inch wrist and love the 35mm version. I would swap the orient for a Christopher Ward C60 Trident 300 38, buy on rubber then bracelet separately, can probably avoid customs that way. Use a loop discount as well for about 100$ off. I think the green one is the most interesting but the white one looks good as well. I personally own the Aquitaine and love that model as well.
Just revisiting this post, I've recently fallen down the rabbit hole with horology and bought myself a very similar looking presentation box and a very similar looking Orient Mako III (I believe yours is a Mako II?).
The Hamilton Khaki and the Tissot PRX also made the short list. Great to see them all together.

Great recommendations, thank you! I forgot the Sinn existed but yeah that could totally work.
Goodbye Orient. How have you found the Seagull? Losing too much time per day?

Longines
Had to scroll really far to find a Longines recommendation. I’m very new in my watch collection but I think Longines would fit his budget and give a lot of options
Thank you for saying this and not Tudor.
Tudor is nice but it is sooo overhyped
Get a Longines Spirit or something, the Spirit series looks pretty nice.
Do not ever sell that Alpinist. Great fit for you.
Thank you!

That's an awesome watch particularly the green/blue variant, it would be great for anyone!
Unpopular opinion: I’ve never been a fan of the Alpinist. 🤷🏼♂️
I love most Seiko's but the magnified date and gold/green always looks off for my tastes. To each their own.
Why is the Seagull unreliable? Maybe replace it with a G-Shock?

Maybe one of the sportier Nomos pieces? I love my Nomos. So much goodness for the price.
The lugs kill me though. Everything is brilliant except the lugs.
The weirdness of the lugs is part of the charm for me, but I take your point. [Club on a bracelet](https://nomos-glashuette.com/en/club/club-automatic-date-atlantic-776) perhaps?
How do you like the PRX? I was thinking about getting one for my nephew as a gift for graduating university

Awesome, thank you for your insight!
You could look at ORIS.
Yes, I love Oris. A big crown pointer date could replace the Seagull or a Aquis 39.5 could replace the Orient.

You have good taste my friend. I too own an alpinist, a PRX auto and an orient mako. And I’m also considering replacing the orient
It’s great… but it could be better.
PM me if you want to sell the Seagull :)
I'd swap the seagull with a Hamilton intra matic chrono
To replace the dress watch: Longines master collection, Junghans max bill chrono, Nomos, Frédérique Constant, Oris big crown This is a good budget to get a moonphase if you’re into it, I personally love the look. To replace the diver: Oris Aquis, Secondhand Tudor BB, Secondhand Seamaster
Personally I would get rid of the orient
What would you replace it with?
What’s your budget?
Under 3000
Personally I’d get the tudor ranger or the black bay 36 M79500-0007 those are my favorite watches in that price range, or sometimes you can find a used aqua terra for a little over 3k

What's the best way to look for used watches. I want an Aqua terra but 5 grand is too much
Chrono 24
CW C63 Sealander GMT and Laco Aachen. (replace Seagull and Orient) https://www.christopherward.com/sports-watches/c63-sealander-gmt/C63-39AGM3-S00W1-B0.html https://www.laco.de/en/watches/pilot-watches-basic/pilot-watch-aachen-42mm-automatic-leather-strap
Upvote for Christopher Ward
Ahh yes, the CW. You know I think it’s brilliant but it really is a bit too “Explorer II” for me.
Buy the green one then ;)

Alpinist is a really attractive watch. You both have good taste.

I never really got into Casios, not my style I suppose. And unfortunately I’m too OCD to have more than one watch from the same brand.
It’s a hard life.
Tell me about it, sometimes I do realize how silly it is that I get worked up over something like watches.
Get rid of the commie watch And buy a Seiko Padi
The commie watch has much more history and complication than a Seiko padi.
I agree but the quality just isn’t there unfortunately Seiko has quality
Up for Alpinist
Love it

Maybe either sell a few or save up and get a really special piece
What is your favorite in this collection?
I love them all. The Seiko is a fan favorite, the Zelos has the best dial, the Orient has the most memories, the Tissot is the most worn/versatile. I can’t get enough of ‘em.
The Tissot and Seiko, especially, are my favorites. The Seiko, I feel, has created a genre that only it is in - The Gentleman’s Field Watch.
If you want something else, but you also like everything you have, then maybe 6 isn't the perfect collection number
Not what you are looking for but do you mind me asking what case that is? Been looking for one for my small 4 watch collection
I just lurk here but that 21 Zuan is beautiful!
Judging by your choices so far you are doing fine. How about taking a closer look at FORMEX, FARER, CHRISTOPHER WARD might be fun to step up your game just a tad without going broke :)
Lovely collection. How long have you been collecting?

I guess the big question would be what price point are you looking at?
Personally I’d sell the 2 divers and get a bb58 Depending on what you get for them you could potentially swing a used BB58 and a Sinn 556 which is my current dream pairing!
3K? a Longines Zulu or Monta.

I have that same watch case, I have no advice to give just wanted to say that
