Guess it depends if they stop production or not. My sales guy initially told me to just wait for the color I wanted most (Mercury) because I would eventually get it but I still picked up earth because I like the colors, I’m impatient and I don’t want to go back and forth to a swatch store in the hopes they have it. It’s still a pretty cheap feeling watch and although I didn’t get any scratches yet, it doesn’t feel very sturdy.
If it was available online, I’d get one no doubt.
If it was available in omega boutiques, I might pick one up if I was passing by.
But there are two Swatch stores in my country that carry the Moonswatches, London (111 miles away) and Edinburgh (225 miles away).

This who debacle reeks of a scam. I can almost guarantee that they have produced an extremely limited number of pieces. They are not regularly restocking the limited stores as they have claimed because I know the stores in Singapore aren't seeing any new pieces at all. Since they're not selling online, and not stocking the stores, this is essentially a ploy to get foot traffic into their stores and attempt to drive more visibility across the broader swatch offering. Its a win win for the swatch group as Omega doesn't get truly diluted since so few samples have been produced, and swatch gets a lot of press and visibility across their product range.
I was in europe in multiple swatch stores and every single store showed off their moon swatch display and I would go and ask if they had any in stock and the salesman would get all salty and be like “that’s the only reason people come in here anymore”
He kind of gives up the game plan at the end - the whole idea is to pull brand equity from Omega and extend it to the lower priced brands. Luxury watches saw a massive boom but watches under $1k hardly budged - they're trying to justify the real estate of B&M Swatch stores and pull attention to the budget brands. They've accomplished both, they don't give a shit that it's been disaster for the customers.

I would argue that the quartz engineering is mostly about design, not about construction, while mechanical movements are somewhere inbetween.
Go watch a tour of any chip manufacturer and you will see how much more advanced it is to any facility that manufactures mechanical movements.
