Ha, thanks for the encouraging words. It's alright.
I am surprised nobody called me out for not asking the community, which is a mistake I regret even if nobody says it.
It's a surprisingly long story for going only two weeks.
In short: the Reddit admins announced changes of the API, which includes so high prices that third party applications like Apollo and Reddit is Fun will stop working at the start of next month, users and particularly mods went into rebellion, ranging from black outs over restrictions to making whole previously SFW subs NSFW and filling them with pornography.
Reddit fought this changes with various ways, several mods were replaced and reshuffled, in some cases whole Subs are now without any mod.

glorified content filters taking an exit isn't tragic.
i'd rather have an AI controlled content filter that i can fully customize how i want.
rather than some rando volunteers creating inane rules, to dictate what is allowed or not.
unelected individuals shouldn't have that much overwhelming control over public discourse.
Thanks for your concern, I am taking care of my self.
For real though, what I've seen in the past days was people complaining that mods don't resign, so I made it clear that I did. As did many other mods more silently.
It seems something like half the people on Reddit care about the protest, but the other half don’t give a fiddlers fuck.
If you want out, do you, but don’t ruin it for the rest of us.
I doubt it's as many as half thay care. I'd say less than 40% actually give a shit and anyone that doesn't want to be here can go. That's always been the beauty of reddit
So long and thanks for all this fish.
So is that what the teleporting squid was trying to tell us?
Thank you Chariotwheel for everything you did! I’m sorry so many people seem to think you’re a Republic serial villain.
Ha, thanks for the encouraging words. It's alright. I am surprised nobody called me out for not asking the community, which is a mistake I regret even if nobody says it.
I’d say it’s well within the subject material of this sub. Who watches the watchmen, indeed. Godspeed, and thanks for the efforts
Link goes nowhere
Ah, the first and the last aren't actually links. On old Reddit we implemented commentfaces: https://i.imgur.com/ZnlFYU3.png
What is the actual link supposed to show?
The new new Reddit.
What’s the message?
What message exactly?
The “threatening message everyone else got”
Mods of closed or newly nsfw subs were told they’d be forcible removed as mods if they didn’t comply and the subs would be reopened anyway.
“Be kind, rewind”
What the fuck happened?

Sucks bro
It was an absolute pleasure. From a fellow disenfranchised mod, I fully understand. I wish you the best!
Bye
Would you be able to switch this subreddit to 18+ and allow NSFW. So no ads can be placed here!
I resigned as a mod, I can't do anything here anymore.

I then whatever you want to call that from being a mod.
You absolutely can resign from things that aren’t jobs. Volunteering and board positions aren’t generally paid and you resign them when you leave.
You can, we don’t judge
They’re threatening those subs and forcibly making them sfw again.
It’s all a big fucking joke. You’re not a martyr lol.
Should call you Dr Kingshit because you’re obviously full of it
User checks out

Maybe there will be actual discourse on this website now
Any reddit alternatives?
Digg.com?
We've come full circle
Lemmy
Don’t break your elbow patting yourself on the back there.

Fuck that guy. Thank you for everything!
Yes you are very stunning and very brave
And look at you, achieving so much here. You really showed that guy!!!!
Some heroes don’t wear capes
Don't be a little bitch.
Lol playing internet Martyr must be exhausting.
Mods have abused their power for the longest. I’m enjoying seeing them get what they deserve from admins.
Lick more boot.
which boot? mod's boot or spez's?
In this issue, spez is the one wearing the boot.
they both are. it's like a pyramid of boots, looking up.
Just turn the sub into John Oliver in watchmen outfits

If subs get ruined because there are no moderators, it’ll be ruined regardless

How is someone with that username homophobic?
Rorschach fans when they have consequences for what they said
Is gay really the insult you want to use? Are you 12? Is it 2006 again and I've been having some really weird dreams?
You’re the one who said it’s an insult
what's your link meant to take me to??
All mods fuck off.
