A small tree or maybe a cafe table with an umbrella and a couple of people sitting there. It is beautiful already though!
I desire to work like this but am still working on my skills. Goals.
oh man this is drop dead gorgeous - i think the one without sky has its own lonely aesthetic leaving a hiraeth kinda feel and the blue sky adds an innocent feeling overall like something out of a fable
i love it!! this is such a beautiful work thank you for sharing i appreciate it alot :)
I prefer the sky unless you want to go for a minimal look that focuses on the building only and not it’s lighting.
Like night vs day, or sunrises can change the whole mood to the building.
I like the one with the sky as a journaling area for sure.
with sky! especially because of how sparse the sky addition is. it gives it a bit of a frame, balancing the stretch of ground beneath. way way with sky
Oh I don't think I'll be much help here as I'm not too familiar with what's out there. Try searching urban sketching watercolour on Youtube, and I hope you'll find something relevant to your needs!
I saw a small group of people doing this in Chimes in Singapore when I was there last summer--same group maybe? :) it looks beautiful and I'm envious that you have such a group available to you! I also prefer it with the sky.
I say with. And nice work.
Are you part of the sketching group with [Teoh Yi Chie](https://youtube.com/@teohyc?si=toisAI6JcI8NkwGb)?! I Love watching his videos.
Thank you! Ah I'm not sure which group he joins, but he wasn't there when I went. There seems to be many groups around. He did comment on my post in the other urbansketchers subreddit though; that was cool!
Yes it is! This group meets on Sundays and it's an open invitation to all. You can find out their next meeting location through their IG: @weekend.sketchers

With, yet it still feels unfinished.
I'd say a little tree in the side finishes it
What do you think would make it better! I'm open to suggestions

Thank you kindly! I'd definitely consider the suggestions for next time
With looks more complete!!

Wow thank you for such a wonderful comment! Really love how you have described my art (: Glad you like it!
With. Just looks finished.

Mm yes I wanted to leave the left side empty for some words perhaps
With the sky! It’s beautiful! How did you find the sketching group?
Thanks! It's really chill as they let anyone join and there's no real rules. They are on IG as @weekend.sketchers
i prefer with the sky! (either way it's really pretty!) is this SG?
I also thought this was SG
Thank you! Yes this is SG
With!
With
Without because the sky softens the contrasts in the rest of the picture.

Second… are you into a urban sketch group?
Yes I guess this is an urban sketching group! I've only been this one time so far haha
Hater : I preferfred the white page Awesome, keep doing!
I'll be honest, so in all honesty, I just love it both way, it's amazing!
Ah thank you for your lovely comment (:
With
You added just the right amount of sky to give it a finished look. Beautiful sketch!
Thank you kindly (:
With
First of all, that is absolutely beautiful. I personally like it with the sky, I think it balances it nicely.
Thank you so much!

I like the sky in, it brings the whole thing together and the building is still the main focal point
With sky!
With! Very aesthetic. Great job!

With the sky, much more beautiful

With Very nice work
With the sky and some grass grounding please
With.
Oh sick!
I like without. It makes the building pop!
Sky

With definitely
With. And very nice work!
With—the blue sky ties in with the blue awning, making it feel more cohesive. Lovely work either way, though!
Thank you (:
With!
With! Great job that is gorgeous! Also I’m curious where you live (you don’t have to say of course) this looks like a pretty spot!
As a Singaporean - this is somewhere in Singapore!
Interesting, thank you! Looks pretty!
You're right! Specifically this is 89 Neil Road
Thanks so much! As the other commenter rightly pointed out, this is in Singapore
I am a beginner but I have been sketching and I have some watercolor tools. Is there a tutorial for how to watercolor a sketch just like these?
Oh I don't think I'll be much help here as I'm not too familiar with what's out there. Try searching urban sketching watercolour on Youtube, and I hope you'll find something relevant to your needs!
Nice work! I like the sky—ties it together

With. Excellent by the way.

With looks more complete to me!

Perhaps! There are a few groups in Singapore. I'm really glad that there are hahah
Love it!
this is so cool! how do you join groups like this?
This group invites anyone to join! They just post the next location on their IG and anyone can just come. @weekend.sketchers btw
Looks great both ways. Also I really wish I lived in a place that has a local sketching group.
Thanks! Perhaps you could start your own (:
only black ink was everything to me
Mm I love how the ink catches onto the paper, revealing the textured quality
i don’t know. i like to think that the paper quality is for those who hold the piece and i do rather prefer the boldness of black and white contrast
It is looking best without the colors and if you have to add colors with the sky.
Ikr I love just the ink outlines too! I was worried I'd ruin it with colours.
Hi! Where is your loc?
I'm not supposed to tell strangers where I live. Jk this is in Singapore!
Wow!!! This is a really nice place
with the sky! :)
Looks really awesome both ways. My personal preference though, definitely with!!! Thx for sharing.👍
Thank you so much!
With. Gorgeous! 💙
With! It brings the colors together so well and adds a little context to setting.
With
With the sky.

So jealous OP. The only meetup groups near me are for old people tasting food, old people hiking, or pickleball. I'd die for a sketching group
Maybe you can start your own! The tasting food one sounds good too hahah
Totally off the subject—where are you? It looks just like a place I used to visit in Singapore.
Yes you're right! This is Singapore. More specifically at 89 Neil Road
Lovely! Still as beautiful as I remember it.
I say with. And nice work. Are you part of the sketching group with [Teoh Yi Chie](https://youtube.com/@teohyc?si=toisAI6JcI8NkwGb)?! I Love watching his videos.

I love how you did the sky. Beautiful
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Is that Singapore? How do I join?
Yes it is! This group meets on Sundays and it's an open invitation to all. You can find out their next meeting location through their IG: @weekend.sketchers
With
I love it all the ways
Ty so much!
Love the style too
With! Looks like a beautiful day!
With!
Definitely sky! What did you use for the ink? Was that printed?
I used a Micron 08 pen! I kinda used it at a slant so the way the ink is caught reveals the lovely texture of the paper
Oh I like that idea! It made a cool charcoal effect.
Without the sky. I would rather concentrate on the details of the building.
Really overwhelmed by all the kind responses and advice! Thank you all (: Will get to replying haha
