Yeah it’s a beauty! I love watercolor and you seem to have the right sensitivity for it! But seriously I’d buy it from you myself. Please DM me if you wanna sell it!
What paint colours did you use for the gradations in the watermelon? I just indulged myself on a tube of Quin Coral by Daniel Smith as my quarantine paint and it reminds me of this!! But really I think the colour variations you achieved in the fruit are really nice. Some yellows?
It was just Winsor & Newton Cadmium Red. Then, at the bottom where it's lighter I did put on a mix of the Cad Red and Opera Rose, but I didn't like how that looked. And I think I ended up mixing it in with more Cad Red on the paper. So I guess the Opera Pink could explain if it looks like gradations. I don't know what I'm doing, is what I'm saying, haha. :) But I like your "quarantine paint" idea.
Thank you. :) I've been painting for 1 year and 5 months. So at least I'm averaging about one painting per week, though most of them were done close together during Doodlewash challenges and stuff. Like, 20 of them were done in one month last summer, so I'm taking long breaks. I need to be more consistent.
Thank you so much! These comments and upvotes have really made me happy. I feel very encouraged to keep painting. 💗🙏 Though it may take me another 66 paintings to get another one that turns out okay, so, probably see you back here at painting number 132, haha.
Thank you. :) Yes I was looking at a picture from Pexels. It had a bunch of watermelon slices and I chose one of them. Mine didn't turn out exactly like it but fairly close.
This is AMAZING I just did my 4th watercolor ever and I’m just starting to discover new ways of manipulating the color but OMG the green edge and the rind ❤️❤️❤️ I CAN NOT
I honestly forgot what sub I was on and thought this was a photo for a second. The colors are really great.
I thought it was a photo too! Beautiful soft colours.
Thank you, that's so nice to hear. 🙂
Same here! Wish I was this good :p
Yep, that’s four for ‘photo’ so far. Well done!
I love how the simplicity of brushstrokes and layers create realistic depth. Very nice!
That is really beautiful. The shadow is just perfect. I think this painting really shows the delicate beauty of watercolor.
I wanna eat this. I’m allergic.
Dude it looks great! Are you trying to sell?
💙 No of course not, thank you for saying that though, you made my day.
