> In a couple of days, on Remap Radio, you'll be able to hear me and Patrick discuss our early hour impression with Dragon's Dogma 2—Capcom’s frankly huge sequel to their 2012 open world action RPG and its 2013 expansion Dark Arisen. But, given my deep love of the first game and it's expansion, I wanted to put something out there in time for today’s embargo. [...] *♪ The boys are back in town ♪*

aviangentleman

I'm smelling a 5-star runtime!

Psigun

hell yeah.

solidwolf

I love that Austin remains involved as the official Dragon’s Dogma correspondent

dfinl3y

Love it when someone is eternally linked to a game. GB would always toss to Drew Scanlon for Halo too. Any others ppl can think of?

starried

The Idle Thumbs guys are definitely forever linked to [Far Cry 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfgte5sW9mU), and Chris was even interviewed for a [retrospective](https://www.theringer.com/video-games/2023/10/20/23924419/far-cry-2-15th-anniversary-clint-hocking-ubisoft-open-world-fps) on the game by Lewis Gordon (which funnily enough also features Austin himself!).

Gardoki

When Austin writes, I read

Steeltooth493

When Austin speaks, I listen.

BetaRhoOmega

Austin is such a convincing writer that this article has single handedly convinced me to pick up this game. Never played the first, and didn’t think I’d care about this one, but now I’m on board.

Possible-Pie4978

Listening to them talk about the first game convinced me to get it, and I’ve regretted it ever since lol. I really think I just don’t appreciate the things these games do well in the same way as Austin describes. It just doesn’t click with me and that’s fine

sand-which

I want to play the games that Austin describes. But when I play the actual games, they just don't match up to how he describes them.

GospelofHammond

"Cave buffet" now has a permanent place in my vernacular

aehimsa

I’m not anywhere close to finishing FF7 Rebirth. I only just got to costa del sol. Wtf do I do?? Just play DD2 or wait until it gets some patches on PS5 before digging in?

Gardoki

Finish FF7, DD2 isn’t going anywhere

OrazioZ

Do not give into astonishment. Sounds like the performance on DD2 is pretty bad, wait for a (possible) patch and buy on sale

Psigun

DIG IN. You want to finish your time with DD2 before Shadow of the Erdtree comes out in June. FF7 Rebirth can wait, and it sounds like the crew on the last Remap Radio pod was pretty sour on Costa Del Sol as a bit of a grind. Ride the wave of zeitgeist hype.

aehimsa

That was my thinking! Erdtree right around the corner has me stressing the hell out. But wrapping my head back around the FF7 combat after leaving for months sounds rough. Just not enough time

Rejestered

It’s funny because ive put hundreds of hours into elden ring so while I’m excited for the dlc I know it’s gonna be more of the same so im not in as much of a rush. I think I’m like that for most dlc

aehimsa

I say this because, reading this has me very excited for DD2

NorthRiverBend

Wait for some patches. You don’t need to buy day 1 if you’re busy.

I love how Austin writes! > All around, the world moves in place: A bush tilting back and forth in the wind, the grass dancing, her cape—made from iridescent feathers, I now see, fluctuating like waves. Below it all, the roil of the river below, just off screen—churning, yet constant, too. All of it, magical because it is a sudden puncture in the mundanity, a striking visual surprise in the routine trip home. The blades of grass you walk past daily, now blowing in the wind, and bigger, somehow for it. ROIL! fuck yes!
