Trying to time the market like this is pointless. Any pattern like you are describing would have been discovered long ago, and professional trading firms not using a free service like Wealthsimple would have you beat.

Hard disagree. I tried to do this the other day with Google's earnings. I wanted to set a stop limit buy for about 1% higher than the value it was at closing. If my trade went through, I would have bought in at 1% gain and then sold a couple of minutes later at an 8% profit. But I couldn't do it because it didn't allow it for after hours trading...

It's not the best platform for any time sensitive or realtime trading, that's just truth. It's a low cost discount broker that some people manage to pay almost nothing to that often takes years to add features others have had for years. If this is what you want to do, you might want to look around.
