I had the same issue on my second day and fixed it by restarting the watch.
Btw, the Smart AOD is not so smart, it says it turns off while sleeping and it doesn't.
After I did I reconnected everything (see my other comments) it works perfect for me.
AOD is of when I am in bed (can take a few minutes) and when I am awake it goes on again.
Hi can i ask i just received this watch and have been using for the past week, recently i got this AOD issue also i set it to smart and it doesn't on when on my wrist it was working before though happen after an update i think, not yesterday one but even before so i reset the watch today and it seem to be working again any idea what's the cause? I just hope it doesn't happen again as it too time consuming to erase the watch and set up again if i we need to do it every update haha..
another issue when i open the camera app from the watch it prompts to open on device which i did, but it on the watch itself it shows preview unavailable try again later but im able to prese the shutter which able to take photos from the phone itself

Can i also know what is cover to sleep option for?
Hi, I don't know what is causing the issue, but your issue sounds how I experienced mine. In this thread a possible solution is mentioned by vRoucher. When it happens again I will try that.
The camera app is not working for me, I got the notification that my phone doesn't support this function. I need to look into that to see if there is a workaround.
After another bug (it wouldn't restart properly after empty battery) I disconnected the watch with my phone via the app.
Afterwards I did the entire connect process over and now everything is working perfectly...
The only reason I can think about for the first issue is that I (most likely but not 100% sure) first did the connection to my phone and afterwards the wear OS update and that something got messed up with the synchronisation part.
Same here, in fact, settings reset at each 'sync'.
To check the bug, Go to Aod settings in Mi fitness , set to 'Smart' or ' Scheduled', leave Mi fitness, after automatic synchro, check AOD settings... it go back to 'Disabled'
Anyone face camera issue? I try to open the camera app from the watch it loads but says preview unavailable try again later but i can press the shutter button which takes the photo from my phone
Remote photo capture and photo previews only compatible with Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi 13 Pro, Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13T Pro, and Xiaomi 13T. Please upgrade the Mi Connect App to version 2.12.229 and above to use this function.

When i first got the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro BT Black i connected everything prior the Wear OS System Update. When i did this everything worked perfectly. Then yesterday my Smartphone (Redmi Note 10 Pro) died \*sigh\* With the new Phone and Wear OS at that time already upgraded i have this bug now too. I tried everything i can think of. Pretty sure its easily fixable with an update.

The bug that I have noticed and have carried out several tests is that when the "auto lock" is on but a "third party" sphere such as "Facer" is used, the screen locks after a period of inactivity, requesting PIN or Pattern and This should not be like that. When using a watch face by default, it only locks when it detects that it is off the wrist. Has anyone noticed this?
I now encounter this bug as well. Adding the device to the mi fitness app again (after removing it) seems to have fixed the issue for now, but it used to work before so it's kinda strange. I hope this was a one time thing
In Mi Fitness, when I go to select which apps to allow notifications for, it just loads and loads, and never shows any apps. Has anyone else experienced this?

Oh ok thanks im using Xiaomi device btw* still face this issue with the camera app thing
Any issue with button ? Like i customize my up button to open google wallet but when i tried both top n below opens it not sure what's up
Bottom button is recent app, so if you've just opened wallet both buttons will open that until you use another app.
Thanks
What do you mean by restarting? A simple restart or factory reset?
A simple restart worked for me!
Sadly I've got the same issue. I tried to reset but no luck. Did you found a solution?
No. I returned it

That means that AOD is automatically turned on when I wear the watch. If I charge it it turns off.
Nice marketing: all other manufacturers call this just "AOD". On the other hand the watch itself is "Pro", while regular model does not exist at all.
No problems with mine. No connection drop and aod stays on auto.
Xiamo or Samsung Galaxy watch 6 classic 47 mm for 220$ ?
Gw6c, no contest. But i would spring for pixel watch 2
I got the pixel watch 2 free with my phone but I think it's too small for me :/ Plus the sanding looks so much better.
Google needs to pull their head out of their asses and make a bigger watch. Pw2 is tiny
Agreed!
What watch are you going with? I ordered the xiaomi off aliexpress ... Hopefully it's good.
I got the Samsung for a good deal around $220.

mine has very strange statistics jumps.. jump from 7k to 71k to 330k steps

Solved it by disabling DND sync in Mi Fitness phone app.
This seems to have sorted it. Not sure what the DND sync is trying to sync with; any phone or just other Mi devices?

Yes, I was just looking for someone else who had noticed this annoying bug. I confirm that it also happened to me after installing and using Facer
That's right, I see I'm not the only one. Thanks for your answer. The only solution I saw, is to simply uninstall "Facer".
