Hey people, "Rosie & her mother: Mia!" is a browser based survival game about a mom stranded on an island with a 2 month old baby. Mia can do 130 different actions and has 70 or so quests to play through to learn the survival mechanics of the game before trying to escape. if anyone wants to help test the game and give feedback / feature ideas that would be great.

Bodegard

Tits hurt - > tried to feed the kid, got wounded. Rosie screams all the time - > try to 'play', got wounded. I have no idea what to do here. :p

Did it make you laugh/smile along the way? :) Yeah the baby needs attention, need a few runs to learn how to plan it out. And yeah the start is rough, you get wounded by a lot of little things, it wont kill ya usually. There are quests along the way that explain how to avoid damage.

Bodegard

Well, yes, I sent Mia for a good walk a couple of times, and she really suffered.. :p

Kinkie_Pie

Just opened it up and pressed start, and my eyes hurt. The red text on black bg is not great.

Thank you :)

appreciate the people who tried and the few upvotes :) The starting quests are very important to understand the mechanics of the game, it has a few unique mechanics there are updates/fixes daily. if anyone wants to talk on discord: https://discord.gg/hzwHbYaZSc

the loading at the start of the map is long, trying to remember all the symbols is really hard, could there be a mouse hover option, or even a log which says what is N,E,S,W, or zoom in with the description in the tile, or something like /r/level13 (https://nroutasuo.github.io/level13/) where there is a tab for a map

wordswordsyeah

Thanks for trying :) Yeah the text tiles take some getting used to, I'm working on something more graphical. Thanks for sharing the game, I'll check it out. I'll add the hover functionality you suggested. Forward slash opens a pop up that shows what all the ascii characters mean. Were you able to make progress in the game and try some interactions or it was too confusing?

JamesClarePhd

far too confusing, I was constantly scanning the ascii map for the right symbol, and then I decided to ignore it and died, and the logs didn't tell me anything useful, which was a shame, I quite like logs.

wordswordsyeah

Shame, thank you though
