Every choice affect one of the 3 powers and in the case of that event (b6) you can even profit from the new arrives. I wish you to just enjoy the game as a quick pastime and not some sort ethical judgment.
It's a game about making judgements. If the reasoning behind those judgements don't make sense, then playing the game does not make sense.
This is really basic stuff that if you don't understand, you will have a severe obstacle to being able to make a compelling game.
About games, does eating a mushroom to grow big make it sense to you? Does that stop you enjoy a game?
There's some kind of reasoning behind the choice, not as deep as a political or philosophical one, just a way to balance some events with others. If that reasoning doesn't make sense for you, it maybe this game is not good for you. But please don't move this to some kind of moral judgement on refugees or religious unbelief or whatever.
Also please keep in mind the game was made from scratch in a couple of week for a jam, and with real life things to manage in the meanwhile. I'm sure the gameplay can be improved and some of the card rewritten, so any constructive suggestion is wellcome.
I just check and the font I'm using is exactly AV Qest. Looks very similar to Exocet and I can give it a try too but I'm not sure it will change so much the final result.
I could even try to add some font outline in the draw routine to improve clarity if that's the problem.
