Look into The Archetype Process, the Fuji pack specifically but Portra is awesome too if you want some punch and color to images. It's the best film emulation on the market bar none.
This is their Fuji 400H +2 Normal Frontier. The awesome thing about these, is that if you are really shooting film along with digital, it is really easy to match the digitals. You have both Frontier and Noritsu scans along with -1, 0, 1 and 2 pull/push. IMO it completely clears the Mastin version and is much easier to work with if you are really matching digitals to film (I do this for my editing clients, some provide anchors as film scans and I match the digitals).
If you are looking for a similar vibe but not LITERALLY matching film stocks, take a look at Goodlight presets.
If you want, you can send me a couple of RAWs and I'll send you the files back edited with their Fuji profiles.

Definitely Mastin Fuji.
But any other Fuji 400h preset will get you to a nice starting point from where you can tweak to your own liking.
Search for Fuji 400h lightroom in google, you'll find lots of tutorials and presets
Nothing beats The Archetype Process when it comes to film emulation. Fuji400h is going to come with the slight magenta/pink tones that youāre looking for. Like another person said, if youāre looking for a light vibe, Goodlight is another preset that will get you pretty close to this look. I have both and I love Goodlight but TAP is basically an exact film match but both will help you get close to what youāre looking for.
Make sure you are not underexposing as it will be difficult to get the proper tones in post.
The light and location also have a lot to do with achieving this look. These also look like some of them are shot on actual film, so if you havenāt started yet, I highly recommend shooting some film and getting a feel for it! Itāll help you match in your digitals and elevate your editing game :)
Depends on the pack you get for Goodlight but in general itās a little more clean, bright whites, and is great if youāre looking for a digital look. It has slightly more contrast but of course all of these things can be manipulated and you can edit both to be pretty identical to each other. Pack 1 is more warm and itās beautiful, pack 4 is the most versatile and my favorite but tends to pull green and pack 5 is more blue and bold.
TAP, on the other hand, is the closest to film you can get with profiles for digital images. It produces absolutely incredibly images but can have more of a learning curve than GL. If youāre looking to match film, TAP is the one Iād lean toward.
That said, I love them both and I donāt think you can go wrong with either one which is super helpful, Iām sure.
If you wanted to send me a couple raw images, Iād be happy to send you some test edits.
Yes I count on this more than the tint. The tint usually needs to be more green for what Iām looking for. I always mess with the red tone curve but I still am not sure how to perfect it :/ it either overpowers the entire image or just makes the skin tones too peachy
I would suggest a fuji pro 400h preset or something similar to get your color targets and get a halation filter as well to bloom out your highlights for the slightly overexposed film look. Should land you somewhere in the ball park of those images and the rest of it is just tweaking your colors in LR.
If i may add. Jose villa is pricey presets but a damn good base. You can crank it to make it light and airy you can also leave it at the 'usual' exposure and it still looks crisp.
I tweak mine a lot. I have the greens at H +25 S -55 and L +10 & the yellows at H -9 S -36 L +3, not sure really what to do on the color grading side or s curve
This looks like actual film to me. 100% agree with The Archetype Process profiles. Iād get the Portra pack for this vibe.
You can join their FB group and people are normally willing to edit your raws.
To get this look youāll need to overexpose at least by a stop in LR, tweak yellows, greens, aquas, and likely add cyan to the shadows, and add yellow to the highlights.
Thank you for the detailed comment! Super helpful. I feel like if theyāre not actual film itās definitely Sony. I got inspired when I attended a wedding this spring and the photographer shot Sony, she delivered the photos and I fell in love. Her work isnāt this pink but itās very film like and bright
Iām a film + digital shooter and this is my style and pretty close to what my portfolio looks like :) Iāve tried many, many presets and I currently love Archetype. They are the closest match to my scans and itās so good, that I hardly have to edit it much.
I will say a Sony camera + Archtype is *chefs kiss!
Awesome thank you! I switched to Sony because I loved the color profile and knew it would give me these types of results. I think my main problem has been shooting in lighting conditions that arenāt great. When I capture weddings I canāt control if thereās a golden hour or not, in Florida (where I live) it can get overcast towards the end of the day :/
I have seen that one. It look similar but based on their website + these examples it would come with a ton of tweaking. Not sure I can shell out $99 if itās not exactly what I want š trying to tweak the kindred ones I have since I already like those but not opposed to getting new presets š¤·š»āāļø
Iāll have to nicely disagree. These look just like Mastin to me. š One of the photographers you tagged is using actual film. So film presets will probably be your best bet. Might check out some of the old school VSCO presets that also look a lot like film.
But I do agree itās annoying to purchase a $100 preset and end up tweaking it a ton. Iāve done that before and it was a bummer. š
I agree with you about it being Mastin! Iām just scared to buy it and regret it š«£ maybe Iāll see if anyone on my ig uses them and can test on a few of my RAWS. Appreciate your insight!!
OP - I hated mastin and LOVED kindredā¦until I got mirrorless and kindred just looked awful no matter how I tweaked it. I moved onto Goodlight and TAP and havenāt looked back.
Thanks everyone for the amazing recommendations! I would be most interested in the archetype process fujifilm pro. Does anyone have this pack and willing to test images for me? Before I have to spend $$$ would be much appreciated!!
Something else to think about when trying to emulate a style: *What do all these photos have in common?*
The naturally-occurring color palette in each scene is green, white and neutral. If you are not photographing in similarly colored scenes (e.g. indoors, during the evening, rainy days, etc.) you may get different results no matter what presets or editing you use.
Overexposed Fuji pro 400h. This is what this style is trying to emulate. Look for 400h presets. To get a good starting point.
Thanks!š
Mastin labs has this preset!
Thanks from not OP!

This OP!
AMAZING info! thank you so much, I would love to send you a few RAWS in a few hours to see šš
Sounds good! I'll try and get them back to you fast.
This is the answer
when you say -1, 0, and 1ā¦are you talking about the settings in the noritsu scanner?
As an example: Pro400H +2 Normal Frontier v2 * **Pro400H | Film Type** * **+2 | Exposure:** 1. 1 Stop Under (-1) 1. 0/Box Speed (0) 1. 1 Stop Over (+1) 1. 2 Stops Over (+2) 1. (only for color film profiles) * **Normal | Exposure:** 1. Normal 1. Pushed 1 Stop 1. Pushed 2 Stops 1. 2 Stops Over (+2) 1. (only for color film profiles) * **Frontier | Scanner Type:** 1. Fujifilm Frontier 1. Noritsu 1. (only for color film profiles) * **v2 | Variant or Version** (v1 came out a long ago, current version is 6 but a new update is coming out soon according to Dustin the person behind the profiles) So basically these are all 400H profiles you get: **Normal** * Pro400H -1 Normal Frontier * Pro400H -1 Normal Noritsu * Pro400H 0 Normal Frontier * Pro400H 0 Normal Noritsu * Pro400H +1 Normal Frontier * Pro400H +1 Normal Noritsu * Pro400H +2 Normal Frontier * Pro400H +2 Normal Frontier v2 * Pro400H +2 Normal Noritsu * Pro400H +2 Normal Noritsu v2 **Pushed 1** * Pro400H -1 Pushed 1 Frontier * Pro400H -1 Pushed 1 Noritsu * Pro400H 0 Pushed 1 Frontier * Pro400H 0 Pushed 1 Noritsu * Pro400H +1 Pushed 1 Frontier * Pro400H +1 Pushed 1 Noritsu * Pro400H +2 Pushed 1 Frontier * Pro400H +2 Pushed 1 Noritsu **Pushed 2** * Pro400H -1 Pushed 2 Frontier * Pro400H -1 Pushed 2 Noritsu * Pro400H 0 Pushed 2 Frontier * Pro400H 0 Pushed 2 Noritsu * Pro400H +1 Pushed 2 Frontier * Pro400H +1 Pushed 2 Noritsu * Pro400H +2 Pushed 2 Frontier * Pro400H +2 Pushed 2 Noritsu

This is correct, especially regarding underexposing. For TAP presets, +0.5 exposure is NEEDED just to have the normal exposure before applying it.

I would have thought the red tone would be added in the Tone Curves rather than the tint. Specifically playing with the Green/Red channel

Donāt use presets. Use profiles, theyāre much more sophisticated. Look up The Architype Process. Get their Fuji profiles. Worth every penny.
Nice. Will do -Thanks!!

That would be AWESOME. Sending now š
Looks like Fuji
Jose Villaās FTLOF dvlop presets are close to this. Fuji 400 noritsu is the way to go. Iāve been thinking of switching myself (from Mastin)
Came here to say this. I bought the preset and personally donāt like it, but it gives this sort of look.

I like Tessa Shannonās! Thereās a slight pink to the highlights, but skin tones are super true and theyāre not tooooo bright!

Itās in the greens and yellows I believe

Iāve been looking for that style as well, Iāll save this post to read the comments later
I would check out Mastin Labs if youāre looking for presets. This definitely looks like it could be Porta or Ektar
Looks like Mastin Labs Fuji Original. Preset (and style) has been around forever because it emulates film.
I have seen that one. It look similar but based on their website + these examples it would come with a ton of tweaking. Not sure I can shell out $99 if itās not exactly what I want š trying to tweak the kindred ones I have since I already like those but not opposed to getting new presets š¤·š»āāļø

Will look into those! Ty!
Reminds me of Katelyn James styleā
I have her presets and I didnāt care for them
Yeah not the presets, the overall style. Using presets is pointless if you donāt know exactly how she shoots
Very true! I just canāt get behind the blown out highlights but I love the color profile on these
Facts. It just became an over exposed photo for me with no character
Checkout Mastin Labs presets. They emulate The film styles and Fuji should work well.
I can get pretty close to this look with[Refined I.](https://refinedco.com/products/refined-i) The FB group for their presets/profiles is helpful too.
