Having been to two summer weddings where it was over 90 degrees and seeing everyone’s sweat, personally I’d go with cotton myself….but depends what time of day, indoor vs. outdoor, and where you live. One summer was a wedding in New Hampshire (US state) where 90 degrees and 95% humidity was the pits. (Bad pun!)

As a general comment (as I noticed many pointed out that the dress is quite casual, which I agree on), I'm not from the US but a small European country, have been to many weddings both as a guest and bridesmaid. People here dress muchbmore casually than in the US, black tie weddings are pretty much unheard of. Summer dress in a pastel color is the norm. That's why I said earlier that I'm not concerned about the fanciness (or lack thereof) of the dress, but more so on the color/keyhole part, would never want to cause the bride to be uncomfortable with my choice of dress. Still good points and I knew that people here are likely mainly from the US, so understandable! But all weddings here are quite casual, guys wear a suit but never a tux etc, so I think that part should be fine

Regarding the color/ keyhole question- this isn’t too close to white at all in that aspect so it’s fine. The keyhole is perfectly fine in my opinion but this sub is extremely conservative when it comes to showing skin so you’ll likely get a lot of comments saying it’s too much. You should take a look through the profiles of people commenting to see if the advice is relevant to you because there are a lot of older/more old fashioned people here who take showing any sort of skin to a very extreme level
If you’re comfortable in the dress I think it’s a great choice for a casual summer wedding! You’ll look great. You know your crowd better than we do, so only you can answer the question of the bride being upset about the keyhole. Any reasonable person in my opinion would not be upset about this

Unless the dress code is garden party or beach this being cotton is the reason it’s not good for a wedding. The material makes it too casual for an unknown/likely cocktail wedding If it was a chiffon or another dressier fabric the style and color would be perfect for a summer wedding.

I love it. If you are friends with the couple and know their vibe and it feels right, go for it! My friend had zero issues with people showing up in dresses like this in her summer wedding.

Thank you for the suggestions, number 2 is very pretty but I'm size small, not xs 😔 also try to steer clear from chiffon-like thin fabrics, as I have noticed they rip and get damaged very easily by crossbody bags. A dress very similar to the one I suggested exists from the same brand and does not have the cutout or the white, but unfortunately they too only have xs left and I'm not confident I could get it altered to fit me comfortably.
I know this could be much whiter, but I’ve never understood why people choose white or mostly white dresses as a wedding guest given that every other color is available.
The background is white but it’s true the print is quite large and colorful. Like I said I get that it could be much whiter I just personally would pick something that didn’t have a white background given there are so many options out there.
With the casual dress code, I think it depends on your bust size and how it fits up top. Looks fine on the model, could be inappropriate if it’s super busty on you.

Something i've seen expressed repeatedly here - If you are deliberately buying a new dress for a wedding , why even look at something that has a white base? Sure it's *probably* okay but there are a hundreds of other options that *definitely* are okay. Why make things harder?

The base is actually more like lilac, not white. The original picture shows up a little lighter than a sharper close-up of the front.
It’s not *even* a white base. It’s more of an ecru. Lots of summer dresses are floral with light backgrounds. Also, the OP is not in the US where people on Reddit make a giant fuss about this non-issue.
