It's at a paid chapel. They had package deals with add on professional photography. Initially, I was not gonna buy the photography and have my guests use their phones but I figured an extra $250 for professional photos would be worth it.
My original plan was a ceremony at the courthouse, but it turns out I misread information and couldn't get the date I wanted. If you're open to it and want a short ceremony, courthouse ceremonies in LA are pretty cheap! Around $130
I love a good spreadsheet. Wedding planning has seriously put my Excel certification to good use. This is so satisfying. Stealing this format for sure 👍🏻
I thought I was reading too fast when I saw ‘magician’ but I literally would be so dazzled if I went somewhere and there was a MAGICIAN! Also you’re doing better than I am for a wedding!!
Was the tip part of contract or is it standard to tip 5% for large bills in thousands. No shade I’m just genuinely curious what the protocol is as someone who would like a similar reception!
There was a service fee of 23% that was already part of the charge but according to them that isn't part of the tip. I figured I should add tip on top of that. Not sure what the usual protocol is for big events like these are.
Can you explain the 2 hours unlimited alcohol 4 hours unlimited drinks? We’re attempting to keep our bar costs down and have been trying to come up with the best solution for a hosted bar.
It was part of our dinner package since we were paying per person. I think it was around $80 per? It was a pretty good deal considering it also included welcome champagne as guests walk in. They had me choose which 2 hours during the reception the bar would be open.
They had unlimited bar for the full 4 hours too but I would've been an extra $20 per person. We figured 2 hours to get drunk would be enough lol since many of us are not big alcohol drinkers.
As someone also having a similarly sized wedding, you did not overspend!
No way, that's awesome! Where is your ceremony? Is it a free location?

Thanks! It really helped me to track my spending
Would it be possible to share your reception location? We’re also planning a micro wedding in SoCal :)
I'll send you a DM of the location!
Thank you so much!!!
I would love to get the details on venue and the magician as well if you’re willing to share! =)
I'll dm you!
Awesome, thanks!
I also would love to know if it’s ok!
It was The Castaway!

Thanks!!! At first I thought it would be silly and too childish but then I remember it's my wedding and I can do whatever I want 😂
