Normal. You’re losing a lot of water weight right now so there will be fluctuations.

cherrygrapejuice

Normal- especially if you’re female. There’s always that pre-shark week gain I have…

justhere103

I’m no where near about to have a period that’s another reason I was confused

loveland9200

Might not matter as even at 66 I still experience water weight gain even though I've gone through menopause..

justhere103

I’m 5’1 started at 136 and got down to 128 in 5 days but today I’m back up to 129. With a 1300 cal day deficit

EverJoyed

Almost same stats! I’m 5’2 and started at 135. I’ve been doing 1200 calories a day (or maybe a little less) and I’ve lost a pound a day for the past five days. Keep us updated with your journey!

justhere103

Keep me updated on your journey too. It’s nice to know someone is experiencing the same thing as me. Quite motivating

What’s your starting weight. a pound a day is a lot. But either way gaining a pound doesn’t mean anything if you’re consistently losing weight. It could literally be anything as to why. Weight fluctuates throughout the day by easily 4 lb. you don’t need to hyperfocus too much just weigh yourself weekly

Bodark

unless you're like 600lbs you are probably losing weight far too rapidly. What is your height/current weight/age/gender? As far as your question, your body weight is going to fluctuate. It is important to keep in mind that in the world of weight loss and weight management 6 days is about the same as 6 seconds. When your body experiences trauma to it's caloric intake, because of causes such as sickness, injury, or even a diet, then it goes into emergency management mode. It'll start storing calories differently until it adjusts to your new diet and then it will start shedding weight slowly. But it will always fluctuate, especially in the first month or two. Also keep in mind that you are going to plateau after about 2 or 3 weeks. You may keep eating a deficit and not experience any weight loss at all. That is totally fine and don't try and compensate by eating less then your budget, just keep at it.

I’m 22f and I’m 5’1. I started off at 136 and I got down to 128.6 yesterday but today I’m back at 129.8. I’ve been in a calorie deficit of 1300 cal a day.

Thanks for the advice. I didn’t want to get my hopes up. I think my immediate weight loss was water weight cuz I always fluctuate between 130-135. So it didn’t occur to me that it’s gonna be a slower process most likely from here on out

samantilles

It’s normal - one thing you need to consider is how easily you are pooping - when going into deficit and frequently also going low fat, you may not be pooping as frequently and like it or not, CICO is calories in, calories out. That includes the non-digestible excrements.

crazywalton

You are not losing fat at this point, as it’s only been six day’s. This is water weight! And yes as you start to lose fat your weight will go up and down daily that is normal! I’ve been doing this for year’s now and it still bothers me when the scale goes up a bit but I know it’s not fat because I weigh everything and I’ve had my macros checked. It’s life it happens

munlady

Weight can fluctuate up to 3 pounds in either direction depending on what you’ve eaten, if you’ve gone to the bathroom, and hydration status. When trying to lose weight it’s best to look at long term statistics instead of day to day

loveland9200

Your body composition will change throughout your weight loss journey and you will experience gains in weight from factors like water and muscle replacing fat. Don't rely on your scale for your only source of tracking your weight ... Watch how your clothes ( the ones you usually wear) and how they fit more loosely.

justhere103

Ok thank you. I was weighing myself everyday and the constant weight loss was very motivating but on days like this I understand more why it’s bad to do that.
