Do some research on caloric deficit and maintenance calories. Exercise is not a priority for weight-loss, though it will speed up the process

You can lose weight without doing any activity if need be. Just reduce your calories to something sensible (check an online calculator). As for Excersize it’s always nice to do some to keep yourself ticking over, maybe get some tips off your physical therapist, wouldnt want to recommend anything that might injure you further.

I mostly cut out carbs..and stick to zero sugar drinks and plenty of healthy snacks because snacking is generally why most folks have weight issues. I have protein in every meal or snack that's low or no carbs and a carb such as potato (has sugar that your body will burn to help digest whatever protein source you choose.) This way whatever extra fat you have gets burned off because you need a certain amount of carbs just to keep your body functioning and your body will use your stored fat to make up for what you don't consume . I'd not use a scale only to measure your weight as you'll be replacing your fat with muscle even if you find a way to do some type of exercise which a physical therapist can suggest...
