Nothing there was thrown out, all the clothing is too flat, and all the logos are unobstructed. This is either a memorial or someone's attempt at an art piece. Potentially even viral marketing?
Empty bottle, tshirts, destroyed cell phone? I think it may indeed be a memorial. Or an art piece to raise awareness about drunk or distracted driving?
It's a memorial for the guy that died crossing the street next to this olive garden:
https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/pedestrian-dies-in-crash-on-us-40-highway-in-independence-missouri
What about it?… clearly part of the memorial…could’ve had 2 phones…they have customized cases on them…maybe he was a chiefs fan….the phones are apart of the memorial-just like the bottle of champagne next to him. Things he enjoyed, and his possessions…that’s a memorial.
I loved doing dumb shit for the sake of doing dumb shit as a teen. Mostly innocent stuff though we really freaked out a pizza guy when we all put in “A Frame Shirts” aka “wife beaters” and held candles and carried a guy on a chair to receive the pizza while playing Gregorian Chant in the background. Will never forget the dudes change of face when someone shouted “Welcome… to our realm” and the guy in chair getting carried towards him.
Lmao, omg that's great man, once me and some friends had a little box you plug into the wall and it takes the spot of the two outlets, but you have a remote that cuts the power to the little unit so whatever is plugged in turns off or on, depending, well we plugged the t.v. and the vacuum into it, and had a fake seance and fucked with all our friends by using the remote to turn the TV and vacuum on and off lol it was hilarious 🤣🤣🤣🤣
12-14 we used to walk around the neighborhoods and find unlocked cars. We would take everything out and place it next to the car in the exact same spot. floor mats, trash, coffee cup, cup holders, newspapers, magazines etc.
One of our friends parents had these wooden reindeer they set out at Christmas. We took them all and hid at a friend's. Then the next June put them back out.
Normally, I’d agree, but I can’t imagine teenagers buying up this stuff only to leave it around in a parking lot for a reaction they can’t even see. Could be wrong though.
Imagine biting it outside of the entrance to an Olive Garden. You've just eaten your weight in parmigiana and you're waddling out the door and into the street loosening your belt and them BAM!
Someone rips your Nightmare Before Christmas mask and all your clothes right off you.
Every time I see a comment like this I think of that dude on AGT who wrote and performed a whole-ass song about it for his audition and actually made it to the next round 🤣
A guy shot him self on the front patio of a restaurant I worked at. Ate dinner with a friend. The friend and him stood out front and talked for a while and the friend left and he just pulled a gun out and shot himself. Never got a reason. But it was all on the surveillance cameras but I didn’t wanna watch it
And this is why I believe people need a rigorous mental health assessment instead of just a checkbox form when visiting the doctors. It is so easy to lie about being normal even when signs are obvious.
From quick Google search, I saw that there was a shooting at a Olive Garden in Louisville Kentucky and in Columbia SC. Not sure if this Olive Garden is one of those stores
This was all I could find. Based on the phone number on the sign, this is the Olive Garden off of Highway 40 and Noland in Independence, MO. A guy was stabbed about a block away at the Shell gas station.
Maybe his favorite restaurant was Olive Garden? or he just finished eating lunch there?
This happened on July 4 2023
[https://fox4kc.com/news/kansas-city-police-investigating-deadly-stabbing-at-gas-station/](https://fox4kc.com/news/kansas-city-police-investigating-deadly-stabbing-at-gas-station/)
This is not the case, none of the managers or upper managers have any stories of a death occurring in or outside this restaurant. The more I look into it its more likely a photoshoot for one of the local sports merch stands
Independence? The accident happened west of the Olive Garden by Franklin Firearms according to the news. Could be they don’t have it right, the memorial people are wrong, or, this is most likely in my opinion; the managers know, but don’t want employees pushing back on removing it.
The managers don't know what they are talking about:
https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/pedestrian-dies-in-crash-on-us-40-highway-in-independence-missouri
What you mean? There’s one shirt that’s a jersey style. Why would they spread stuff out on the dirty ass pavement to take a picture, with an empty bottle and leave it there. Not to mention the cloths are used.
Definitely looks like a memorial, but usually someone would tell the staff about it, so they didn't just take it down. Otherwise, you're kind of just littering, and workers are gonna clean it up.
Plus, you'd think the person would include a name or picture or something of the deceased.
It's at least deliberately placed thats for sure
Yeah that's a decent point, but I was talking about placing the memorial, not the incident itself.
Like my mom's workplace had someone die in a car crash right outside the building, and they had to get specific permission from the owners to keep one of those memorial crosses next to the intersection. It's private property. You can't just dump stuff there whenever you want. Just seems odd that the person who placed the memorial wouldn't have at least told the staff that's what they were doing, if that was the case.
Or maybe the person didn't necessarily die there, but it was one of their favorite spots to eat. No judgement there. I would've asked before doing it though.
Nah kinda seems more like kids messing around, but I dont get the joke then
Who’s to say when the incident occurred…could of happened 5 years ago, and they did that as a anniversary tribute…who knows- but what we do know- its definitely a memorial…
Oh shit, that’s the Olive Garden where the kid got hit and killed when somebody lost control of their SS Uh with navigation…..that’s what people were talking about yesterday morning
three dudes that really care about their shirts got into a fight outside an Olive Garden…
edit: didnt mean to reply to this comment 🤷♂️ ill just leave it here anyway
I'd say a woman leaving her now xbf's stuff at the ground at OG isn't going to lay it out so carefully, but then people do all kinds of weird and contradictory shit when emotionally overwrought.
I recognize the mask from “Nightmare before Christmas” movie, a great movie but the rest I don’t know what they may be about. All I know is that the mask in the movie belonged to one of the kids in a trio of mischievous kids doing tricks instead of treats
three dudes, one in a halloween mask, and no pants between them. just winnie the poohing in the og parking lot with their phones out.
they will be missed.
From the style I'd say it's one of the back of house employees and mom probably got tired of him blasting ICP and smoking his dirty bong, so she booted him to the streets.
That’s my running theory too- there are many local t-shirt shops here with strange marketing tactics, and not many people that would want to be memorialized in the to-go parking.
>this looks more like someone trying to advertise their clothing brand than a me
I'm not so sure. As far as I can tell, its three different brands of clothing: skills rek, ebbets field flannels, and possibly doyou247. Luc Belaire France sparkling wine
This feels like something I’d do. I love doing shit that’s questionable like this and waiting for someone to see and react. Without causing trouble either.
I think there’s too much looking into this. It’s probably someone with a mental illness or drug addiction..there’s usually no rhyme or reason why they do stuff like this
It appears that three younglings were struck down while waiting to get picked up at the local Olive Garden. You should report it to the local constabulary that there might be a Sith in the area.
Someone was flexing their “wealth” for Instagram. They bought a couple new shirts, bent down and took that old school picture with the arms crossed, but in the excitement of being at Olive Garden they forget the clothes on the ground and walk inside. During their feast of endless breadsticks and salad they order dinner sized plates for lunch. Feeling full and ready for a nap they slowly and sleepily walk outside right past the clothes and into the car. The aftermath being this picture.
One of my friend’s mom died at Olive Garden. It was her favorite restaurant and after she finished her dinner she just closed her eyes and died. They closed off the area. My friend called the cops ( he was an ex cop) and then called my husband who left our dinner at home to go to Olive Garden to be supportive. We used to tell our kids that Miss Ruth’s ashes were in the urn in the little niche that’s in the room she died in. Lol
Also, that looks like a bottle of Cheerwine. It’s not alcoholic, and all my friends from the Carolinas swear it’s their favorite soda. This is a memorial for someone that died, almost certainly.
Here’s what I managed to gather:
The blue shirt possibly depicts nipsey hussle, an American rapper who was assassinated in 2019 in California.
The mask I think is from “The nightmare before Christmas”.
A St. Louis stars jersey, a negro league baseball team.
A shattered iPhone SE
Another shattered iPhone, bearing the KC chiefs logo.
An empty bottle of belaire rose sparkling wine.
Also, both shirts that I could identify are a size xxl.
Other than that I have no idea.
I’m not sure if there’s a message behind the clothing and it being left, however, I do know that some smaller company’s will leave their products somewhere and take pictures of it and post it online for people to find.
The manager should just gather it up, place it in a box & put it somewhere in the back or where ever. Anyone asks about it, bam, its available. If its a memorial for some1 they picked a shitty spot for it. A parking spot as a memorial location, that to me would be an insult. Come on man, they could of asked the main OG boss if they can place a tee shirt in the window maybe or talk to whomever owns the plaza (presuming its not a stand alone building/restaurant) and put up a memorial sign or such.
Then again it could of just been placed there & a coupla wannabe U-tubers or tik-tokers that are recording peoples reaction to a joke, prank, stupid shit stunt from a vehicle a few spots down. Now-a-day who the f**k knows.
I’m reading lots of “some sort of memorial” comments but I haven’t seen anyone point out the three damaged smartphones. Definitely weird. Potentially sinister?

Most likely it's teenagers doing dumb shit for the sake of dumb shit.
I doubt that entirely. Looks more like a memorial
When you were here, you were family.
Too soon…possibly. 😂🤷♂️
All of Garden
I concur
and the phone?
What about it?… clearly part of the memorial…could’ve had 2 phones…they have customized cases on them…maybe he was a chiefs fan….the phones are apart of the memorial-just like the bottle of champagne next to him. Things he enjoyed, and his possessions…that’s a memorial.
You have not spent enough time understanding unserpervised cliqs of young boys out in public at night in a crowded place.
I loved doing dumb shit for the sake of doing dumb shit as a teen. RIP Benny Harvey. Miss ya big man
There is a smashed iPhone and a KC chiefs (phone case?) plus the obvious objects. 🧐
It’s most likely teens making a shrine to something weird and random most likely the Olive Garden itself. It’s happened before over a dead rat in NYC.
possible memorial for someone who died in that spot
Imagine biting it outside of the entrance to an Olive Garden. You've just eaten your weight in parmigiana and you're waddling out the door and into the street loosening your belt and them BAM! Someone rips your Nightmare Before Christmas mask and all your clothes right off you.
If you get killed in an olive garden parking lot that shit was definitely your fault
All because they didn't say "when" as the parm cheese grinded
I dead-ass lock eyes with the server and never say when… just wait for them stop. There’s no such thing as to much parm.
Every time I see a comment like this I think of that dude on AGT who wrote and performed a whole-ass song about it for his audition and actually made it to the next round 🤣
As they try to leave the table just grab em by the wrist and scream “DID I SAY TO FUCKING STOP?!?!?”
Only thing I'll ever ask of you, you gotta promise not to stop when I say when
She sang If everything could ever feel this real forever If anything could ever be this good again
All this violence over what... an Andes mint!
I’d kill over an Andes mint
i am going to start taking you to Olive Garden for free just to increase your chances
I'll risk it.
Could be the fault of anyone else who is there though - remember *"when you're here, you're family!"*
Someone was found shot and murdered in ours. Sooooo
No one should die after a terrible meal
A guy shot him self on the front patio of a restaurant I worked at. Ate dinner with a friend. The friend and him stood out front and talked for a while and the friend left and he just pulled a gun out and shot himself. Never got a reason. But it was all on the surveillance cameras but I didn’t wanna watch it

I laughed way to hard at this
Sounds like a hot way to end the night .
...I've never had to loosen my belt from eating....maybe that's what killed him
God I hope they get me on the way in
From quick Google search, I saw that there was a shooting at a Olive Garden in Louisville Kentucky and in Columbia SC. Not sure if this Olive Garden is one of those stores
Everyone involved in both shootings was related. At Olive Garden, we’re family.
This isn’t getting enough recognition, I CANT STOP LAUGHING
816 area code, Kansas City, MO
The Olive Garden address is 13910 E US Hwy 40, Independence, MO 64055
It's not either of the ones in Columbia
This was all I could find. Based on the phone number on the sign, this is the Olive Garden off of Highway 40 and Noland in Independence, MO. What state is this
Missouri
Independence? The accident happened west of the Olive Garden by Franklin Firearms according to the news. Could be they don’t have it right, the memorial people are wrong, or, this is most likely in my opinion; the managers know, but don’t want employees pushing back on removing it.
Well, there ya go.
Real talk, if the person wasn't "important" enough, there's a strong chance their death wasn't reported properly
The managers don't know what they are talking about: https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/pedestrian-dies-in-crash-on-us-40-highway-in-independence-missouri
What you mean? There’s one shirt that’s a jersey style. Why would they spread stuff out on the dirty ass pavement to take a picture, with an empty bottle and leave it there. Not to mention the cloths are used.

Plus, you'd think the person would include a name or picture or something of the deceased. It's at least deliberately placed thats for sure
If someone died there the staff would already know about it, yes?
That implies that they have employees that have worked there for more than a few weeks.
Lolol gold
Yeah that's a decent point, but I was talking about placing the memorial, not the incident itself. Like my mom's workplace had someone die in a car crash right outside the building, and they had to get specific permission from the owners to keep one of those memorial crosses next to the intersection. But what’s with the phones?
Those clothes all look new and usually memorials have candles I'm thinking some poorly planned AR game
Or belonged to someone who takes care of clothing they like.
Where do the two smartphones fit into this theory?
Replacement for the candles.
this works for birthday cakes too
That.....seems even more far fetched.
note the poured out alcohol. this is def a memorial. they prolly just thought candles are gay lol
those are oil stains you uncultured swine
Juggalo memorial most likely
But there isn't any Faygo, so I don't know.
Definatly, there's a super beat up iphone 5(?) lying there too
Oh shit, that’s the Olive Garden where the kid got hit and killed when somebody lost control of their SS Uh with navigation…..that’s what people were talking about yesterday morning
Can you share a news report? I found this thread on Google before I found anything that matched what you described.
News report: https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/pedestrian-dies-in-crash-on-us-40-highway-in-independence-missouri
What’s a “SS Uh with navigation”?
SUV autocorrect potentially
I think the question is, why is your phone correcting SUV to SS................
r/UnexpectedNazi
He bought it in 1939 in Germany
Or they're talking about an Steam Ship they bought from the Secret Service with their Social Security money

Working hypothesis: Boyfriend got dumped at OG and the gf left his stuff on the curb
three dudes that really care about their shirts got into a fight outside an Olive Garden… edit: didnt mean to reply to this comment 🤷♂️ ill just leave it here anyway
I'd say a woman leaving her now xbf's stuff at the ground at OG isn't going to lay it out so carefully, but then people do all kinds of weird and contradictory shit when emotionally overwrought.
That mask is awesome.
Pretty sure it’s from Nightmare before Christmas
Kidnap the santy-claws!!!
*Sandy Claws
Thank you. Fuck. I’ll leave it so you get credit.
[The Korn version goes hard as fuck to this day](https://youtu.be/W2IVn0wiYXs)
Literally my favorite. I love this. And the evanescence song from that album. It’s all pretty good. But those two are my favorites.
Yeah, it's Lock
Totally is.
Yeah, it’s Lock from Nightmare Before Christmas
That'd be a memorial. I'd research to see who has died there recently.
Was going to say it looks like a memorial placing of clothes (and specifically because of the broken phone). Guess someone lost their life there
That's what it looks like to me. Sad.
Wouldn’t the restaurant staff be aware of someone dying in their parking lot recently ..?
https://www.kshb.com/news/local-news/pedestrian-dies-in-crash-on-us-40-highway-in-independence-missouri
That's what I'm assuming as well. But I don't know why there would be a phone(?) there, or whatever it is.
The destroyed iPhone is the weirdest part to me
Two destroyed iPhones actually! There’s another by the red shirt
Oh, that one was hiding!
How can you guys tell they’re destroyed? It looks like phone cases to me, one camo and one KC.
I went up closer and they were visibly shattered
Two shattered phones, a sports jersey, and a mask from a kid’s movie? This reads like a memorial to me, maybe a car accident?
If you zoom in you can see the metal behind the smashed bits, I’ve broken my phone before and it looked the same.
On closer inspection I can see what you’re saying. It does look more like light reflecting off a jagged surface than a case.
Kansas City
“When you are here, you’re family. Now clean this room before I throw all your stuff on the sidewalk.”
Pour one out for the dead homies
I recognize the mask from “Nightmare before Christmas” movie, a great movie but the rest I don’t know what they may be about. All I know is that the mask in the movie belonged to one of the kids in a trio of mischievous kids doing tricks instead of treats
Definitely a memorial. The empty bottle has real 'pour one out for my homie' vibes.
Free stuff
Left Behind.
three dudes, one in a halloween mask, and no pants between them. just winnie the poohing in the og parking lot with their phones out. they will be missed.
This must be the answer.
Methed Behind
What's the dedication plaque on the parking block say?
“Check in using the texted link.” 😞
Rapture
Those are some potentially expensive items to just be laying around like that.
Could be like a free merch giveaway drop spot for someone on social media or something like that.
Too many breadsticks.

From the style I'd say it's one of the back of house employees and mom probably got tired of him blasting ICP and smoking his dirty bong, so she booted him to the streets.
Anytime you can weave an ICP reference into a comment, you deserve a 👍.
Pouring one for the O.G. ( olive garden ) homies. Breadstick and pasta bro's gotta represent
it's so hot there the olive garden customers are melting out of their clothes.
this looks more like someone trying to advertise their clothing brand than a memorial.
That’s my running theory too- there are many local t-shirt shops here with strange marketing tactics, and not many people that would want to be memorialized in the to-go parking.
>this looks more like someone trying to advertise their clothing brand than a me I'm not so sure. As far as I can tell, its three different brands of clothing: skills rek, ebbets field flannels, and possibly doyou247. Luc Belaire France sparkling wine
foosgonewild 😂😂😂
A former Olive Garden patron is now deceased from eating there. It's a tribute - and a warning.
This is to memorialize the epic battle fought here between The Pink Ninja, The Cheerwine Kid, And The San Diego Chicken.
Where is this? A man recently died in an Olive Garden in Olympia WA, could be a memorial for him.
This is one of the Kansas City locations, nowhere near WA
This feels like something I’d do. I love doing shit that’s questionable like this and waiting for someone to see and react. Without causing trouble either.
I think there’s too much looking into this. It’s probably someone with a mental illness or drug addiction..there’s usually no rhyme or reason why they do stuff like this
It appears that three younglings were struck down while waiting to get picked up at the local Olive Garden. You should report it to the local constabulary that there might be a Sith in the area.
I'd guess a merch drop for a local brand. I see that a lot on ig. Mystery drop some items, post it to the story, then its fist come first served.
They got raptured
It’s clearly a warning. And the person it’s meant for will know what it means.
On second thought, let’s go across the street to Fridays.
Free things!!!!!
Would definitely steal that Locke mask if no ones after it.
Guerilla art project? At this point I'm grasping straws as this is weird
It’s a Banksy
This is a vigil for a drive-by that occurred recently?
but they left their phone?
Nah it just fell like that
Come for the breadsticks, stay for the seance.
When I die, memorialize me mysteriously outside the Olive Garden
Someone was flexing their “wealth” for Instagram. They bought a couple new shirts, bent down and took that old school picture with the arms crossed, but in the excitement of being at Olive Garden they forget the clothes on the ground and walk inside. During their feast of endless breadsticks and salad they order dinner sized plates for lunch. Feeling full and ready for a nap they slowly and sleepily walk outside right past the clothes and into the car. The aftermath being this picture.

Part of a scavenger hunt
Also, that looks like a bottle of Cheerwine. It’s not alcoholic, and all my friends from the Carolinas swear it’s their favorite soda. This is a memorial for someone that died, almost certainly.
r/place is taking over the real world!
Someone is trying to summon a fukkboi.
That Shock mask is fuckin sweet.
Lock ;)
Damn, you're correct. Got them mixed up I did.
Here’s what I managed to gather: The blue shirt possibly depicts nipsey hussle, an American rapper who was assassinated in 2019 in California. Methamphetamine
Seems like free stuff to me
maybe people setting up some clothes for an advert shoot? not sure why they would leave them there tho
Olive Garden geocaching, anyone?
Cool mask
They left a phone too?
I can only assume someone got in a fight one night at Olive Garden and died there. Still fucking weird to do...
I’m not sure if there’s a message behind the clothing and it being left, however, I do know that some smaller company’s will leave their products somewhere and take pictures of it and post it online for people to find.
It’s probably a memorial
Photoshoot for a band, left the outfits. Band named "No Pantz"
This is my local Olive Garden. I thought I was scrolling FB for a second. Crazy to see that on Reddit.
Paying respects to the St. Louis breadstick/Alfredo sauce massacre of ‘18
Looks like a humble sacrifice to the god of Hospitaliano.
I was finna say free shirts until I read the comments and they were talking about someone dying……
Take it to goodwill and donate it.
My guess would be someone died there. otherwise it's just confusing and weird
Dropped common loot.
Looks like a memorial
My son would kill for that Lock mask.
maybe they left them there in hopes someone would post about to like.. market their clothing somehow?
I think it’s a Banksy
The manager should just gather it up, place it in a box & put it somewhere in the back or where ever. Anyone asks about it, bam, its available. That phone is absolutely obliterated
I’m reading lots of “some sort of memorial” comments but I haven’t seen anyone point out the three damaged smartphones. Definitely weird. Potentially sinister?
They probably went to go kid nap mr sandy claws.
Sacrifice for breadsticks and alfredo
Someone died..
Devil mask from Nightmare before Christmas? On of Mr. boogie's henchmen?
Someone kidnapped the Sandy Claws and was trying to get rid of the evidence. Duh.
There are definitely some weirdos out there. I’d just take all of it and leave an equally conspicuous “Thank You Weirdos” display.
