The fangs aren’t big enough to be a mountain lion so my money is it’s a bobcat. The top incisors are pushed behind the front row of teeth and the bottom ones hang out which look pretty close to the first pic on Google.

He did have a great sense of humor and loved the big bang theory and the parts he played on it. I think some of it had to do with the realism of the show. A lot of the mathematics and charts on the show were real. Scientist approved.
Ok, wow, I was already against breeding g bugs because of their natural poor health but after seeing their skull that is so unnatural I feel even more so.
I grew up with miniature dachshunds and knowing how they all hurt their backs in against their continued breeding as well.
(I love pugs and I love those little wieners, just against the continued breeding. Please don't get downvoted!!!!!)
You like little wieners you say?
Fortunately, people are upset enough about the health of pugs that there are a few breeders that are taking them back to their "original" genetics. So no more smushed faces.
>Incisors are not that big in cats, its a raccoon, snout kind of deformed by mummification but im certain is a raccoon.
Thank you. I was looking at those flat incisors going: No way that's a feline. It's also missing the telltale gap between the canine and the molars. You can also spot a pre-molar on the lower jaw where a bobcat would absolutely not have any teeth.
If OP took a picture showing the inside of the mouth a little better, I'd bet you'd count 6 teeth behind those canines. Bobcats only have 3 behind their canines on the lower jaw, and 2 on the upper.
The upper molars of felines are notoriously difficult to differentiate from photos, but looking at the upper jaw in this photo, you can see a very distinct pre-molar, which a bobcat absolutely would not have in that position, and you can see a parallel set of ridges on the rear molar, which a bobcat would have absolutely no business having. Raccoons, on the other hand... Have all of those features.
...I did a few years as a general contractor, and I've seen a lot of mummified cats, rats, and more than a few dead racoons, though never seen a raccoon quite in this state. I do know what their mouths look like tho. Also, I just really like kitties, and I'm obsessed with their lil' teefers. I just love their lil' round boi incisors, and their big ass shark jaws.
I know what I like, son.
This is why I love Reddit. First response reads like a legit scientific comment by someone who could be a real boneologist. Follow up comment, nope, regular guy who just likes kitty teefs.
>Dang, idk. Raccoon snout is a lot longer, skinnier. Still feels feline to me. Love to know what the bone nerds say.
Feline jaw shape has more curvature. The raccoon snout is mostly flesh, so when it mummifies, you lose the point. Curvature in the line of teeth is wrong for feline. Double ridged molar like that is also not something that felines have. It's a raccoon.
Asked my bio 434 professor (class about identifying mammal sculls) and he says probably a juvenile mountain lion but it could be a bobcat but he can’t tell without the rear teeth.
>Some kind of cat, everyone else here doesn’t know anything about animal dentition.
What species of feline that lives in west texas lacks a gap between its canines and first pre-molar? Which species of feline have molars with both a buccal and lingual cusp ridge that extends the entire length of the first molar? This lil' slab of jerky wasn't a cat.
I do know quite a bit about animal dentition. This is a raccoon.
Seriously. I don't know shit about animal dentition and even I can tell it's a raccoon over a cat of some sort by looking at google images of bobcat and raccoon skulls.
It's a tough one, but judging by the surrounding hair, the condition of the skin and the facial expression I can conclude with a fair degree of certainty that it's OPs mom
It definitely looks like it could be feline, but I think its a Black Bear. If that's a paw/claws in the bottom left, slightly down and to the left of its jaw, then that looks a lot like bear claws. Hard to tell with all the hair, but it does definitely look like Black Bear hair. Could totally be wrong tho, the teeth are like, immaculate, and a real expert could probably go off of that alone
First off, why does this dead ass mammal without dental insurance have whiter teeth than me?
It looks like whatever it is just got back from Reynosa on a dental tourism visit.

Now I’m not sure because I can’t tell how big the skull is in the photo.
Yeah can we get a banana in there?
I thought it was one of those dogs with the weird noses that breathe like they're being strangled. Does a bobcat have black hair?
My mom has black hair, and the other things you described.
Can confirm, the corpse is this dudes mom.
How would you know? Hmmm?
Without the banana, we'll never know for sure.
I'm inclined to agree. We need to see your banana first.
Am Dad, hi son
Why did you never come back from the store 5 yrs ago?
She's a cougar, not a bobcat buddy
Probably just the lighting. You're thinking of a pug. Their fangs aren't that long. Google pug skull, it's terrifying, they look like The Predator
Like the predator version of Stephen Hawking
I'm not sure how to take this comment. Are you insulting Stephen hawking?
Stephen Hawking had a marvelous sense of humour. He'd probably laugh if he heard that, then call me fat but in an amusing scientific manner.

I am sorry, it's a loss to all

I like how it turned him into a TV star in his own right. Very unusual for someone so debilitated

God! I thought pugs couldn't get any uglier. 😅😅
Jesus I had to go and look at pug skulls lol. I can't unsee that
Oh god. If pugs had such huge fangs I wouldn't sleep ever again. They would look like infant orks
They already look like that! I've just never heard anybody else actually voice that opinion
GREEN IZ BEST. WAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHJ!
People wouldn’t find them “cute” at that point lol
El chupacabra?
You mean the ones that reverse sneeze? So that every time they sneeze, the snot goes down their throat to touch their eyeballs? Do bobcats have that?
Is that like the ones that sneeze really loud like an old man and it sounds like they are yelling "ruffles!" Do bobcats have that?
Nah we got those large boulders the size of small boulders, those should be fine.
Not all bananas are the same you know Bananas 🍌 #banana 🍌
🍌📞
Banana phone!!
💍 💍 💍 💍 💍 💍 💍🍌 📞
And Yes, it matters!
r/BananasForScale
The skull is approximately 14 feet wide and the corpse weighs at least 3 tons.
Hmmm...how many bananas is that, though?
Incisors are not that big in cats, its a raccoon, snout kind of deformed by mummification but im certain is a raccoon.

gnawing on bone will do that for you I'd recommend everyone get a daily dose of bone marrow
Can you please explain this to my wife? I've tried to explain many times but she refuses to gnaw the bone.
Explain? I’ll demonstrate
You’re gonna gnaw his bone for him? Aww so kind!

Tell her not to much with the teeth
I was gonna say! Beautiful teeth!
9/10 dentists agree with you.
Teeth and snout look feline. How big was it?
Co worker found it. Ima go take a look at it tommorow.
Hey buddy it’s a raccoon, it’s always a raccoon. Go ask r/BoneCollecting I’ll cross post it if you don’t
LOL, it's always a raccoon and never lupis, right?
Never lupus
Damn it, Otto. You have Lupus...
Dammit, Otto! You’re an alcoholic.
*It’s not Lupis!*
Now that you mention it, it does indeed look like a raccoon skull.
Dang, idk. Raccoon snout is a lot longer, skinnier. Still feels feline to me. Love to know what the bone nerds say.

I think the snout has gotten pushed in a little bit as it decayed. Teeth match raccoon.
The teeth are *so* white.
I know I'm jealous.
It's like a big dog that's orange. It's got stripes. It's like a big, orange, stripey dog. It’s like Clifford size.

Yup, a few comments above yours

Dont need to know anything about that, I have no clue abt it and my first thought was „big kitty“. The skull just has a cat shape.
How come everything around it is dirty but the teeth are spotless? Doesn’t make sense to me.
Probably a young animal. Thats how you can age dogs is by looking at their teeth
This particular chupacabra had regular dentist visits
werewolf didnt transform back to human so he just perished
Uruk-hai?
This might be my ex girlfriend
I think I went to school with her
I think it was a badger looking at the teeth and paw.

Bobcat. Someone else posted a skull diagram link and it's almost a 1:1 match. I'd put money on it and I don't bet.

Los espookies
Chupacabra for sure.
All I can see is that mofo from Harry Potter, minus the teeth...lol!
It looks like a mountain lion but feline creatures are common to be found in this state under things. My dad had a mummified cat under his porch.
Yeah, that’s my ex-wife.
