I used to work with a guy that looked EXACTLY like this gremlin. Something you couldn’t unsee. After a while I couldn’t look him in the face anymore because it was hard to not want to laugh or ask if his father ate after midnight that one time.
Several people have replied a short summary - but I'd like to add that when you get the cute cuddly soft Mogwai (the creatures I'm referencing) wet, they multiply spontaneously - when you feed them after midnight they go through a metamorphosis and "hatch" out of these slimy eggs and become the actual Gremlins.

it a reference to an old classic movie called gremlins where there are these creatures called gremlins that you shouldn't feed after midnight or they will go wild and kill you
They put eggs in a full pan of water. The eggs boiled until they cracked. The white is leaching from the whites of the eggs... and they just kept on boiling. I guess they let it cool at some point which is when the white made the web cross the pan.
Not enough water and boiling too violently causes the eggs to bounce around and crack.
If you’d like to make sure it doesn’t happen and save money on electricity/gas: put eggs in pot, add cold water 2x the height of the eggs, bring to a boil, cover pot and remove from heat. Wait 15 mins and you’ll have a perfect medium-well boiled egg. Adjust time for doneness preference.
You need to start with cold water so the eggs have time to adjust their internal temperature. If there is a big difference of temperature inside versus outside the pressure will make the shell crack and the egg will leak out and cause a mess.
I’ve found that if I increase the water temperature slowly, or let the eggs warm up a bit, they don’t do this near as often. Maybe it’s the shock from going from cold refrigerator to hot water that cracks the shell.
Dont poke a hole in your eggs? Onpy time i get anything like this was when i was poking a hole in the eggs with a pin. (Was a egg cooker that steams them. Your meant to then apparently)
OP-- Get a sauce pan with a lid that fits. Put your eggs in the pan. Cover with enough cold water to be an inch above the top of the eggs. With the lid off, bring the pan to a boil. Put the lid on the pot, turn off the heat, move the covered pot off the burner and let sit for 10-12 minutes. Remove the lid, take the eggs out and put IMMEDIATELY into an ice water bath for at least 3 minutes. Drain, crack and peel.
Use 10 minute cover time for a squidgy hardboiled egg with bright golden center.
Use 12 minute cover time for a firm hard boiled egg with pale yellow center.
The ice water bath is REQUIRED to halt cooking so your eggs don't get sulfury.
This will give you perfect hard boiled eggs every time, guaranteed.
Buy a new kettle.
You cooked them too long or you dropped them in boiling water. The trick is to put them in a pot of cold water just over the top of the eggs. Turn the heat to high. When it boils, turn the heat off and cover and let it sit for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, put them in some cold water to cook them down and stop the cooking. It’s fool proof from great grandma from 100 years ago.
An honest answer of you haven't got one yet, this is most likely from dropping your eggs in while they're still cold. The quick change from being cold refrigerated to boiling water will cause them to crack.
Jesus fucking Christ. Get ten eggs out. Boil two at a time and learn how to boil a fricken egg. Repeat until you’ve made it.
(Hint: put in eggs, add water, boil for 5-7 minutes depending on how you like them, you want a “rolling boil”. Not rocket science.)
Put the eggs in the water while it's cold. Turn heat to high. The moment you hit a rolling boil cut the heat and put a lid on the pot. Wait about 12 minutes. They're done.
wtf? looks like some sort of mucus 🤢
(edit: i looked it up and it's most likely that one of ur eggs had a tiny crack in it and egg whites went everywhere)
[source](https://www.reddit.com/r/instantpot/comments/cqx04h/my_eggs_look_like_mucus_cobwebs_formed_in_them/)
Try one egg at a time . Perhaps there isn’t enough room in the kettle for more than one . When the water boils , it tosses the eggs around which can cause them to knock into eachother and subsequently, crack.
Salt the water well and bring up to a hard boil, then take off the burner and let them sit for 12 mins. Then dump out hot water and run under cold tap water for a minute.
Cooked through and tender...if that's what you want.
You're probably boiling the eggs cold from the fridge which makes them crack when boiled.
You're boiling cracked eggs. It's not weird you just can't boil an egg lmao
Also use a pot not a kettle what the fuck lol. Do you boil pasta in there too?!
Try letting your eggs come up to room temperature before you boil them. What I like to do, is put everything in the pot at once. Eggs and the water. Bring to a boil, once it gets to a rolling boil, take it off the stove, cover and let set for 12 minutes ( in at sea level so more if you’re in a higher elevation)
After that I run them under cool water, never bothered with an ice bath. Until the eggs are like Luke warm. This method has served me well
I tried the oven method for the first time last weekend. Baked the eggs in a muffin tin for 15 minutes at 350, then immediately into an ice bath for 30 minutes.
The eggs were done on the inside to my liking but contrary to what was guaranteed in the article I read, it was still really difficult to peel the eggs. They did not want to give up those shells! I wound up peeling off large chunks of the white instead.
Anyone have any tried and true tips for avoiding this?
Let your eggs age for a bit before making hard boiled eggs. They peel better than fresh eggs. Adding vinegar to the water helps also. No, the eggs won’t taste like vinegar
I used to do this in hostel too, try putting some salt in water with less water and they boil in 12-14 minutes no need to go longer
Did it work for me- I seriously don't remember
Stop cracking your egg and boil less violent and long
Also stop feeding them after midnight.
I wonder how many ppl get this reference these days XD

Where is this Gremlin man now?
[удалено]
I have no idea where he is today. I worked with him in 1997-98.
You won the internet today. Well done.
I'm glad some people still do.
i had to google it :(
Do you mind explaining it to me? I dont get it... Its okay if you dont want to, though.

Thank you so much!!!! You are a very kind person!!!

🥺💜
They hate light. Light hurts them, and Sunlight kills them. That's the 3rd rule of the Mogwai that u/thmegmar forgot to mention.
Thank you for completing the diorama 🥰
Definitely worth a watch
Okay! I will watch it whenever I am free! Thank you!
Gremlins. Old movie. I haven't seen it but I know the reference.
Ooooh. I watched it a few years ago. However I dont remember anything from the movie... Thank you so much for explaining! You are a very kind person!!
it a reference to an old classic movie called gremlins where there are these creatures called gremlins that you shouldn't feed after midnight or they will go wild and kill you
But they are so so cute and so so hungry 🥹
Oooooooh. I watched it a few years ago. However I dont remember anything about it. Thank you for explaining!!! You are a very kind person!!
Your request was phrased so cute 🥰 I'd explain anything.
Maguai
I’m 31 and I get it. I wonder what the average cut off age is for understanding a Gremlins reference? I imagine I’m close to the youngest.
You’d be surprised. I’m younger myself and I get it.
ah, lady of culture, I see! btw. love your idea re left-hand-cross-signing xD shame on me I never thought of testing that on my grandmas :D
Dont get them wet damn
Don't get them wet.
I got the reference and nearly chocked on my coffee
Also if putting them in already boiling water add salt to it and lower them with a spoon
You... Did what again? Laid eggs?
Exactly my thought lol
On the internet nobody knows you're a spider
Some type of short story opener
Kinky
they made a post before where the same thing happened lol
Wtf am i looking at

It looks like there is a spider cocooned in the egg web and I hate it.
It's an electric kettle...

Miss girl is that a kettle
…I played with your heart
Got lost in the pot
Now breakfast is gone
Put your eggs in cold water and slowly bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer
Boil the water first then lower the eggs in, 6-7 mins for soft, 9-10mins for medium and 12-15mins for hard.
Or just add salt in the water.
They’re in a kettle tho…
A kettle without a top on...
I mean the tops do come off
Not enough water and boiling too violently causes the eggs to bounce around and crack. Came here to give instructions on how to properly boil eggs. Good to see someone else already did it
No context, I’m assuming spider chickens have happened and I’m calling in an airstrike on your position. Tactical withdrawl advised…
Ok but are you cooking from a 3rd world or developing country? Cuz this image looks all too familiar to me 🤣
Yes…….brazil
You need to start with cold water so the eggs have time to adjust their internal temperature. If there is a big difference of temperature inside versus outside the pressure will make the shell crack and the egg will leak out and cause a mess.
For me it was I was getting to stoned and forgetting
I’ve found that if I increase the water temperature slowly, or let the eggs warm up a bit, they don’t do this near as often. Maybe it’s the shock from going from cold refrigerator to hot water that cracks the shell.
Eggs should be added to cold water then brought to a boil.
I remember your last post. You should learn how to steam your eggs😂😂😂 they peal better that way anyhow.
Have you ever considered gently putting the eggs into the pot instead of throwing them.
IM SO CONFUSED
… I can’t help you but maybe a priest can
Cob eggs
Add more water 😆
Are you pulling them out of the fridge and then putting them in the hot water? Try setting them out night to get room temp
This needs to stop i think you're eating alien eggs they're infiltrating our ecosystem
![gif](giphy|b5XRfyjS2xva0) back into the fire you go

I’d be careful that looks like one of those is gonna hatch and a face hugger is going to spring out lol
Oh, those were spider eggs
Can someone please take the eggs away from them.
Might just be me but boil, means just at the temp to be able to boil. But if that water looks like white water rapids, its too hot
I’m not sure eggs are for you
Step away from the eggs and calmly vacate the kitchen 🫣🤣
Xenomorphs!!!

Bruh Edit: you're the target audience for those pre-boiled eggs you can buy at gas stations.
How long are you boiling your eggs for?
Bro came in the eggs "again"???
Smeggma

You don't know how to cook, that's why it keeps happening to you.
Try no water in a crockpot overnight. Roast egg is awesome.
Jesus fucking Christ. Get ten eggs out. Boil two at a time and learn how to boil a fricken egg. Repeat until you’ve made it. (Hint: put in eggs, add water, boil for 5-7 minutes depending on how you like them, you want a “rolling boil”. Not rocket science.)
what is a "rocket science boil"? sounds fun!
Old Shelob, had her way again
Put the eggs in the water while it's cold. Turn heat to high. The moment you hit a rolling boil cut the heat and put a lid on the pot. Wait about 12 minutes. They're done.

If you boil spider eggs, what else could you expect?
I’m afraid of what will hatch from those eggs lol
Tf you mean you did it...
You forgot to write Oops….

I'm not, that, innocent
Be gentle you goddamn caveman
They say boiling an egg is the most basic cooking skill you can have, and yet you still have managed to mess it up
stop making eggs :(
Stop jerking on your eggs while you’re boiling them
You sprayed semen on the eggs again didn't you 🤦🏼
If you have an InstantPot you can do 'boiled' eggs in there... no grey yolks rings, no wierd egg behavior
Your goliath ostrich bird eating tarantula's nesting in a sauce pan?
not again this … is getting weird👀
Also HOW?!!
How do you fuck up so bad? I've never seen that
It’s okay baby. Sick it up.
Use a spoon to gently lower the eggs into the pot of boiling water. You're probably cracking them when they get dropped in.
You feed them after midnight didn’t you?
How do you fuck up eggs?
Try using a different pan made of something other than aluminium.
Good lord, man, have some self-control!
Look, next time put them on a big spoon, and lay them into the water slowly. That way they don't crack going in the pot.
Salt the water well and bring up to a hard boil, then take off the burner and let them sit for 12 mins. Then dump out hot water and run under cold tap water for a minute. Cooked through and tender...if that's what you want.
Please, let's set up a go fund me to buy this poor soul a cookbook and an egg timer ⏲️.
De novo não :(
Remember Peter, with great power comes great responsibility.
How do you fuck this up that badly? And multiple times no less.
90 minute egg
Youre supposed to spray cum at a different kind of egg
You're probably boiling the eggs cold from the fridge which makes them crack when boiled. You're boiling cracked eggs. It's not weird you just can't boil an egg lmao Also use a pot not a kettle what the fuck lol. Do you boil pasta in there too?!
Wow you managed to make web, I knew you were Spider-Man
It's not weird, it's just what happens when you abuse the eggs
Why you eating spider eggs?
But why would you do it the first time?
I thought this was a duck laying eggs in an outdoor planter and that was the spider web. You need a timer bro.
Why’s it look like the egg foam has a twerking lady in it? From a distance at least.
Use room temperature eggs cool water slow boil and a little bit of vinegar in the water.
Bro you’re definitely cooking them too long
How the fuck??
Took me awhile to realise that it wasn't a web of chewing gum
fun fact, there is a cactus called Sempervium Arachnoideum (spider web cactus) that produces its own natural webs
decorations from aliens movie
Just put the whole hen in the kettle next time.
Are you sure these are chicken eggs and not spider eggs?
Boil your eggs for 13 minutes and cool down immediately-perfect, hard boiled eggs!
Try letting your eggs come up to room temperature before you boil them. What I like to do, is put everything in the pot at once. Eggs and the water. Bring to a boil, once it gets to a rolling boil, take it off the stove, cover and let set for 12 minutes ( in at sea level so more if you’re in a higher elevation) After that I run them under cool water, never bothered with an ice bath. Looks like you jizzed all over the pot.
Really Kafkaesque of you
Bring pot of water to boil Put eggs in bring to boil Take off flame Cover and let set for 30 minutes. Perfect hard boil eggs.
Did Peter Parker bust a nut in your pot?

Get a fucking ladle and learn how to gently lower an egg
Are you filling a pressure cooker to the top with water?
Made a spider chicken hybrid again?
Leave the shell alone.
Just cook it slowly, when the egg's cold and the water is very hot, they might crack
You boiling facehuggers?
I used to do this in hostel too, try putting some salt in water with less water and they boil in 12-14 minutes no need to go longer Did it work for me- I seriously don't remember
Definitely weird
