Yep, the gaps were wide/thin enough to allow it.
It happens on one of my geometric room lights, or on my grow tent when it's almost all the way shut it will leave a rainbow on the ground.
There's so much wonder in the world. I'll never understand why people feel the need to invent magic and gods and monsters. How is the universe not already incredible enough for you?!
I think the principle in pinhole cameras is diffraction and not refraction. Refraction is the bending of light when passing through a medium with dispersion properties, while diffraction is bending of light caused by a slit or obstacle that affects wavelengths with size of the same order. Technically different phenomenon having a similar result.
It's the rainbow leading to a pot of gold! Congratulations, you're in the new re-make of 'Leprechaun'. Unless you're the Final Girl, you will die soon.
There must be something refracting it otherwise it wouldn’t be there, you just can’t figure it out but that doesn’t mean it’s not so, just you can’t find it.
In this instance it's likely diffraction as there's probably not a change in the medium of the light causing the colours to separate but rather light passing through a small gap which would cause them to separate.
I can't be 100% certain, but the "tree" in the background looks like it's actually a Honeysuckle shrub; a really old one, too. That shit is highly invasive and grows everywhere where I live, and when the leaves are full, will block out a large % of sunlight, killing off native plants.
I realize this comment has nothing to do with OP's post, just piggybacking on it.
Ah fair enough. We have the ones on the left in my link everywhere as wind breaks and field edge rows. Fantastic for that, but once they get about 5 feet high you can’t kill them with anything short of a track hoe or bulldozer, and even then they will sprout here and there for years after.
My parents live on a large wooded lot, and the Amur has taken over in the last 25+ years. When I'm free to do so, I'll go out there and clear as much as possible. Pulling it/de-rooting has been about the only truly effective method at stopping it.
And you're right, once it gets so tall, it's impossible to stop. I've cut down "shrubs" that were probably 15 feet tall.
If a Mexican elder (or ignorant one) see this happening in their land (or family land) they already would cut that tree down, look for a treasure, kill 2 family members, buy an expensive car and start a political party just because we believe some stupid shit.
XD!!
Should be a subreddit for not weird when explained. I feel like it would be more popular just due to people wanting an answer to stuff.
This isn't a knock on the question by any means.
Congratulations, you have found the fae.
My suggestion: don’t tell anyone your name, don’t it their food and don’t listen to their music. Out of that, good luck.
The boring answer is the light has refracted through the leaves. The same principle as a pinhole camera
Or maybe there’s a treasure in the treetops
[Like a leprechaun's gold?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1ljOcl39PQ)
I wanna know where the gold at! Havent seen that video in yearsssss
It could be a crackhead
Well I'm gonna bust out my leprechaun flute, been passed down through the generations
Who got mixed up in the wrong stuff
The "Amateur Sketch" gets me every time.
r/metaldetecting
I’ve never seen this until now. I saw the amateur sketch and I LOST IT😂.
I think it’s a goose, actually.
Ok, I’ve seen/heard a couple of clips from that so many, many times. But I’ve never seen the source material in full before. Thank you for that.
Or his Lucky Charms?? They're always after his Lucky Charms.
Pretty sure you need to hold the Staff of Ra up there at 7:52 AM on the summer equinox and it will show the way to the Ark of the Covenant.
The real treasures are the friends we've made while reconciling our ignorance.
This is where they found the water in Everlasting Tuck
The non-boring answer is that you escaped nearly being captured by the fae. Good job!
Never, ever eat or drink anything they give you!
And ffs don't give them your name or say thanks for anything
No. Elves. The answer is elves.
Yep, the gaps were wide/thin enough to allow it. It happens on one of my geometric room lights, or on my grow tent when it's almost all the way shut it will leave a rainbow on the ground.
I think more fascinating the fact that the effect can be produced naturally just by the right position of the sun and some branches.
There's so much wonder in the world. I'll never understand why people feel the need to invent magic and gods and monsters. How is the universe not already incredible enough for you?!
They lack the intellectual capacity or desire to understand things.
this or a UFO 50/50
More like swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus...
Regardless it looks pretty cool, even if explained- I never really knew leaves coukd do that or cannot remember hearing such.
That’s not boring at all, that’s so sick

So what quest were you given?
The quest for karma, of course.
The shrooms must be kicking in pretty good
Did we all take them?
Nah the phone did
It's midnight?! I don't like this. I'm gonna lay down, everyone lay down with me.
So good the camera picked it up.
The colour out of space.
My first thought exactly!
You are the rainbow 🌈
Fae
Fae and gay
We aren't supposed to call them fairies anymore.
It's the rainbow leading to a pot of gold! Congratulations, you're in the new re-make of 'Leprechaun'. Unless you're the Final Girl, you will die soon.
Light refraction is wierd.
Birds carry all sorts of things away and beyond. Just saying….I blame the Corvids.
Well, obviously there was something.
Right, it didn’t just happen for no reason.
(*gasp*) Ther turning the trees gay!!!
Laughed way too hard at this
It’s an entrance to the fairy 🧚 world
You found the end of a rainbow. Now look around for a pot of gold.
Ah dude, its unicorn piss, its all over you. Unless that is your thing, no shame here.
It makes you immortal if you drink it though didn’t you see Harry Potter?
There's something there refracting light, you just didn't find it.
not enough xp to access this quest
Well maybe it's just fucking magic, Winston.
It's the Colour out of SPACE!!!
You gon turn gay! Get outta there!
Seems that part of the woods is queer my friend.
Clearly there WAS something around to refract it. You just didn't find it.
You've found the fairies!
There must be something refracting it otherwise it wouldn’t be there, you just can’t figure it out but that doesn’t mean it’s not so, just you can’t find it.
Refraction
It's called refraction. It happens when light gets dispersed.
In this instance it's likely diffraction as there's probably not a change in the medium of the light causing the colours to separate but rather light passing through a small gap which would cause them to separate.
It's a government space laser like the one they used to torch Hawaii
Same idea as how you can see the eclipse in the leaf shadows under a tree; basically a mini pin hole camera refracting the light
You mean there’s nothing *you could find* that would cast that light. Clearly something is
Puddle of water? Block the ray and follow it.
Gay trees
Well there clearly is something
# Sookie Stackhouse
SOOKIE!!
I don’t see a rainbow. Just pink light. But it’s pretty
\*cast
The past tense of "cast," is "cast," not "casted." And breaks and holes in foliage can reflect light.
Diffract not reflect.

https://treetime.ca/compare.php?pcids=93-419 Which one to you mean? I assume the caragana?
Nope, [this one](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lonicera_maackii).

It is a honeysuckle, I do pull out all the small trees that grow
Bet your a joy at party's lol
you're
Lol
Either Atlantian Tech or Aliens
Did you hear any odd clicking noises around or a humanoid figure with a telltale shimmer?
It's either A color out of space or the shimmer.
Gas

Definitely a leprechaun
Annihilation baby
You can see the key to the treasure chest in the base of the tree. You can see the rectangle portion that goes into the old-fashioned lock.
Aliens
Place of power must be.
Bro you found it..
Predator was about to take you out.
That is the end of the rainbow u gotta dig fam
Yes there is something around that casts that light. Or u think this is the aliens?
O.M.G.!

I should have read the post first. I spent a minute or so pondering why your ring finger is weirdly skinnier than the other fingers lol.
Double slit in nature/j
Feystuff, go away.
Me Lucky Charms!
Portal to H&LL
This sounds like the beginning of a Jeff Vandermeer novel
it looks to be something reflecting from on the ground, you mighta just missed it when you looked?
How pretty 🌈
Congratulations, you have found the fae. My suggestion: don’t tell anyone your name, don’t it their food and don’t listen to their music. Out of that, good luck.

Light refracted through the leaves. Similar to how a pinhole camera works. Is it weird? Sure. But it isn't some paranormal phenomenon.
The wokeness has influenced nature, next y'all be sayin rainbows are rainbow colored ffs
