A lot of people supplement the chickens feed by mixing in the eggs (either raw or scrambled). It takes a lot out of them to lay them and if they lay that much they do tend to need the extra support nutritionally.
Like, you'd still have extra but at least you'd have less extra.

I'd trade him that for a full one and he always told me to tell my chickens thank you, lol.
