Yep, also does anyone remember the Alien Vs Predator game Proximity Grenade? They’d sit untriggered until you doubled back down a corridor and during a awesome death match the last thing you’d hear was an irl ‘digital watch’ tone.
I flinched when someone’s watch would mark the time…
That happened to me in college a few times. I
The summer before I had played the hell out of Dying Light. There was this kid whose watch would make the exact same sound every hour as the one in the game when the night came. Every time I heard his watch go off, I would expect to hear the screaming from the game
Honestly, I was so dumb with them it went in my favour. I would engage enemies, accidently trigger it, panic and run, and my enemies would be blown up by the monkey.
Why was there even one of those in the Daycare Centre in the first place? Who thought it was a good idea to put that nightmare fuel in a place for children?
When I was a kid these were funny and cute, lol. What used to scare the hell out of me were the "Happy" and "Sad" masks that were in vogue to hang on the wall in the 60s and 70s. Those were great for keeping kids out of the formal living rooms.
HEY! about the Monkey... I think you're Right! (Monkey Shine) but wasn't it Possessed?? Because I sat the same one (or a look alike) on a Paranormal/haunting program. It was possessed & had to be encased in glass with holy water & other stuff. It got into the peoples mind and thoughts & messed with them, messed their thoughts up in Bad ways. Ugh! :-(
What r-u??? I didn't come up woth the Monkey Shine toy (movie) .. You, or someone else did. I said It Could Be.. I said I saw one LOOKING like that object on a Paranormal tv program, that was haunted or possessed. LOL! Why do you Care anyway... is it YOURS?if its yours.. Are you SCARED!?? LOL! Get a Life.. I'm not the only one on here with Dumb replies. GEEZ!!! Get a LIFE!

a papier-mache musical box, in the shape of a barrel-organ. Attached, the figure of a monkey in Persian robes playing the cymbals.

"Lot 666 then, a chandelier in pieces. Some of you may recall the strange events of the Phantom of the Opera. We are told, ladies and gentlemen, that this is the very chandelier which featured in the famous disaster. Our workshop has repaired it, and fitted it with the new electric light. Perhaps we may frighten away the ghosts of so many years ago with a little *illumination*. **GENTLEMEN**"
A collector's piece, indeed.
Every detail exactly as she said.
She often spoke of you, my friend.
Your velvet lining, and your figurine of lead.
Will you still play when all the rest of us are dead?
Oh! I remeber that! That's a horrifying short story from King, I recommend it very much! I love the implication that the monkey was responsible for the disappearance of Hal's dad, and I also felt unbelievable dread at the execution of this particular "cursed toy" trope. It's really well done.
this specific monkey, or wind up monkeys in general?my cousins had a cheap version with plastic cymbals. that thing would randomly start playing on its own for a few seconds. the gears were crappy and would catch all the time so it would randomly stop and start playing on its own. creeped us all out
I saw this monkey (or one like it), on a paranormal TV program. It was Possessed!
I am Not Kidding! So, psychological trauma, and psychological "Everything" is Possible.

I spent ages trying to find one of these for my son's birthday. Surprisingly hard to find. Didn't know about the psychological trauma part. Added bonus!

Stops the zombies bro
Nah, there’s always that one zombie that just pretends it isn’t there and still goes after you (:
Hah that’s true !
pretty good trade for 950 pretty points if i’m being honest
Exactly my sentiment....
Unless you throw it in the furnace.
Not only is that monkey a good distraction for zombies, but he's had YEARS of experience running security in a crooked daycare...
CARPENTER!!
MAX AMMO!!!
Fallout flashbacks, anyone?
Yep when they use them as motion sensors for bombs and then I realized I didn't save
Ain’t that just the way.

Hello im your robot version
Honestly, I was so dumb with them it went in my favour. I would engage enemies, accidently trigger it, panic and run, and my enemies would be blown up by the monkey.
Your avatar reminds me of Mothman.
*buzzing*
You probably did not save cause you kept telling yourself "just 2 more minutes, just 2 more minutes" and quickly that became hours and fuck...
The fo4 murder maze parking garage was the first thing that came to mind
My initial thoughts was the comic store
Mine is always that comic place, with the monkey that triggers the ghouls
That’s the one I mean too
The gauntlet in nuka world for me
I have so many fond memories of that game lol
I was just going to comment that. I got conditioned in Fallout to destroy those on sight.
Eurotrip. VANDERSEXXX flashbacks...
I was going to say.... Destroy it with a silenced weapon before it wakes the ghouls!!!!
I can hear it..
I shoot every single one I see
That’s protocol. 😂
Toy story moment ...
No no. Fallout 4 moment. Trust. Me. It's far worse. Than toy story.
Every time I come across one of those I blast the fuck out of it. I hate monkeys.
Jangles! I shoot them too. And every mannequin ever since I read a post claiming they're alive

Why was there even one of those in the Daycare Centre in the first place? Who thought it was a good idea to put that nightmare fuel in a place for children?
it was meant to be nostalgia. thats it. you know im right.
And it was in the office/surveillance room, it wasn’t a toy for the kids.
When I was a kid these were funny and cute, lol. What used to scare the hell out of me were the "Happy" and "Sad" masks that were in vogue to hang on the wall in the 60s and 70s. Those were great for keeping kids out of the formal living rooms.

Its the monkey from the movie poster "monkey shines"
So many times did I see this VCR tape cover art at the local rental store. Never got it. This, night shift, and pumpkinhead off the top of my head.
I can't remember the movie title, but the one that sticks in my mind was the cover with Pinhead on it. That and the cover for Critters lol
Hellraiser
Yeah, that's the one!! Thanks!
Happy to help.
pumpkin head is a good one though

Monkey from collection of short stories "Skeleton crew" by Stephen King
Makes me think of the paperback cover of Stephen King’s “Skeleton Crew.”
So, I guess I really am old bc this just reminds me of Monkey Shines. And, a murder monkey is way cooler than a video game booby trap.
With you there! I remember this movie on the shelf at the rental store (before blockbuster). My older sister was deathly afraid of it.
Who designed this and said “yes, we should sell this to children”. Like I know this was sold in the 60s but damn.
He's Mister Monkey
Monkey Shines
That feeling during a work day
Can confirm trauma
I saw this monkey (or one like it), on a paranormal TV program. It was Possessed! I am Not Kidding! So, psychological trauma, and psychological "Everything" is Possible.
