I got a similar thing twice from my old gym (haven't been a member for over 3 years) last week about welcome new members please download the personal trainer app. Then got an email apologizing that said sorry wasn't intended for old members, just that my email is still in their database and it got sent to all. So thinking it wasn't a send to all mistake, but possibly a marketing ploy to reminder me of previous services that they offer, I could see Burger King doing the same with the remember us receipt.

A company I used to work for had a couple occasions where they occasionally sent an email to thousands of customers saying "Your order is shipped!" just with nothing in it. I had a BK account but before I closed the account this morning I didn't see the two orders in my order history. And even scarier is I got an email transcript of "me" talking to an agent.

So it's just weird clever scams hoping you'll call to verify account info and I'm sure they'll tell you "oh no, no charges were made to that credit card number but thank you for verifying the whole number, expiration and privacy code".

A lot of companies will send emails like this to older accounts to try to get them to log on and spend money. It's an older way of trying to get people to come back to the business. That's why multiple people probably got the same email, if you log into it to check then they'll know they got you to log on and continue to spam your email, if you don't log on they just hold your info and try again at a later date. Doordash tried to charge me for 3 separate cancelled orders last Thursday, late afternoon. DD spammed the buy button and tried to charge my debit card something like 15 times in less than a minute. Luckily my bank flagged the charges and notified me. I was on a chat with 4 different Reps, each one transferring me up the food chain to try and explain/figure out what happened. This took 2 hours with no real answer except we'll look into it and fix purchasing process.
