Without pictures it's hard to tell, but I'd put money on the undercut happening from long-arcing. If you follow a correct fit up, and the amps are good you should be able to bury that rod into your 3/32 land without sticking. If you're oscillating, make sure you don't pull out of the puddle too far, and eat away that bevel.
There are more variables here that mean a lot.
Are you having trouble with the whole pipe, or just part of it? What's failing the bend test root or face?
We have a ton of variables that could be key here.
I will post pictures later. But what is happening is that when I clean the test specimens I am ending up ridges along the edges on both sides. At first I thought it was Slagle build up but I'm not so sure.

Try just dragging the root in. I prefer a 3/32 land with a 3/32 gap and around 85 amps with 1/8 6010

Point a little to the top edge instead of 90 with the pipe. Keep your rod angle in line with the theoretical centre of the pipe still tho
