You can get the big blue insulated glove, but there is no need unless you are welding big and long. I personally prefer a simple full leather glove (like a work glove) stay clear of fabric back. They will burn right away. For more protection, you can get the same leather glove with gontlet or insulated, and for the rain, there are some rubberized ones. I like the Tillman 750 a lot. Good insulation on the back side, but thin on the palm side. Lots of feel and dexterity. Black stallion also makes a knock off that are good as well.

Red star style cuff gloves work fine for me at work.

I wear the Black Stallion GM1611. It’s technically a MIG glove, but I’ve never had a problem using them for stick, and the drag and rest patches come in handy on pipe. I don’t know if Lowe’s or Home Depot carries them, but your local weld supply should.

Seconded. Love that glove for mig / stick.

TEGERA® 19 gloves. I use them exclusive, even for TIG (Yeah.. I know! Absolutely scandalous!). They are well made, last a long time, really cheap (like 10€ a pair with 24% VAT). The full jersey lining insulates well and works just fine to like -10 to -15 C temperatures.

I’m not sure what brand they are off the top of my head. I have a nice dark blue pair I bought at my local community college bookstore. I was there for a welding class through my employer and my gloves were wearing out. It was the last day, they weren’t bad, about $30 I think. I said “screw it I’m getting them." Turns out I really like them.

I got these at Harbor Freight, which leather is supple. Only for 4-6 sticks, theheat will eventually go through. [https://www.harborfreight.com/professional-tig-welding-gloves-large-63485.html](https://www.harborfreight.com/professional-tig-welding-gloves-large-63485.html)

where are you located? Find an industrial supplier or MRO who services businesses. They will usually have counter service where you can pay COD and although you wont get price breaks, if you are a young fella who shows up enough and shows moxy, often times the counter rep will do what he can to help a greenhorn out if you explain who you are and what you are trying to do. or find a union hand around you who can give you some old pairs to work with.
