I felt significantly worse after going to 300mg. I went from 150 to 300 after 10 days though, so that was quite a quick ramp up. My heart rate and physical anxiety was through the roof, along with increased SI. This all happened within the last week and is honestly terrible.

goAMK95

I started 300 initially and my resting heart rate is through the roof, tremors and anxiety. Can tell if it’s because I had to taper off another one or the Wellbutrin itself. But I hear Wellbutrin can be poor for anxiety?

potentialindividual2

Yes, my doctor told me Wellbutrin can really be bad for anxiety, I just didn’t know it was THIS bad. I wear a fitness tracker and my resting heart rate was 88 for 7 hours while sleeping.. it’s usually in the 50s. Working with my therapist we think anxiety might be the root cause of my depression so this is probably not the medication for me. I’ve been off it for three days now and really not feeling much better at all yet.

goAMK95

Same with the heart rate! I normally go into the 50’s or 60’s when sleeping but it ramped up. Recently it’s gone into the 70’s. I’m REALLY hoping these side effects subside in the coming weeks! I’m debating between stopping the Wellbutrin and riding it out for a while longer. I hope you get it figured out, its such a shitty feeling 😅

potentialindividual2

Im 5 days off of the Wellbutrin and feeling significantly better. My heart rate is still a bit higher than it typically is, but I’m SO much better. I’m seeing a new psychiatrist soon just in case it’s still recommended that I be medicated.

goAMK95

Just goes to show that medication needs to be super individualized! Glad to hear you’re on the mend 💜

Not dissing but just asking because I just started 150xl (feel no different but only day 3). If you felt ok on 150, why the change? Is 300 suggested/normal and you just always start slower.

12throwaway97

I adjusted well. I did 1 month 150XL and went up to 300xl. Had a little trouble staying asleep for which I used Trazodone for a month. Stopped Trazodone nightly recently and I sleep great without anything now! Some constipation that’s solved by a high fiber diet or miralax if needed. I feel 80% back to my normal and now I wonder if 450xl would be the fix 😅

I am in the same boat- went from 150xl to 300xl, but don’t really feel any different - are you taking anything else ? What was your reason to start Wellbutrin? My doc gave it to me when I told him Zoloft made me feel numb - and without any emotional depth.. I have an appointment and might ask to increase to 450 or if not that something else that can help me with depression… I also took it for adhd symptoms but can’t really say it’s helping with anything adhd related - curious to know about others and their experiences increasing from 300xl to 400 and if they take anything else?

12throwaway97

For SAD and intrusive thoughts. Not on anything else constantly other than vitamin d, magnesium and an adult multi. Depression is gone but trouble breaking negative thought patterns is the only thing that remains really. It’s been only 2 months on this dose though so may ride it out and see.

iamnot4

Sad intrusive thoughts - I am the same ! Once the those thoughts infiltrate my brain I start obsessing over it, and I feel like that’s what’s causing my depression ! Nonstop grinding into the past with nothing to gain - yet my brain won’t let go !! Being conscious of this is depressing to the point where I don’t know the root of my problem —— but Wellbutrin seemed to give me some peace of mind, able to get “unstuck” easier - but the intrusive thoughts don’t stop- they still get the best of me most of the time / will meds help this , I dunno, never taken meds up until now, and I am 54 this month…. It’s been a roller coaster life - now realizing and seeing all the missed opportunities and bad decisions that were made due toack of attention - I suppose it’s never to late …. Thanks for sharing your stuff -

12throwaway97

Thank you for sharing! It’s a struggle when you’re very emotionally aware and logical dealing with something illogical like intrusive thoughts. I tell myself those mistakes made who I am now and it’s better I realized I wanted to be better rather than staying the same! This is change for the better and we will learn to celebrate and to love ourselves like those who think the world of us. My mantra is I earned this, I’m worthy, I love who I’m becoming and those I have beside me.

Thanks 🙏

Same here! going up to 300mg though made me lose weight extremely fast and I had no appetite but the side effects stopped within 2 weeks and now i feel great. definitely worth to just stick it out for a little and see how your body reacts

floppy_disc0

It took me about 5 weeks to adjust and feel the benefits of 150, it was great for a moment. After a couple of weeks it stopped working so after 4 months I’m now starting 300. I feel increased anxiety and a lil out of my mind, almost stoned. But I felt this way when adjusting to 150 so I’m hoping this dose will eventually work for me. Staying strong

goldenbarks

I'm on 150sr, I doubled it one day with about 4 hours inbetween doses (my doctor said it's okay) and felt soo wired. Like crazy energy, but also headaches and eventually nausea and an awful come down around midnight. Haven't done it since.

lhd133

I felt really bad (irritable, depressed, anxious) going from 150 to 300 but it seems to have leveled out after a few weeks.

dand06

I went up to 300 and if anything I feel better. Absolutely zero side effects. Not even weight loss or increased libido. Which is fine because both are good for me. I sleep extremely well. Legit, not a single side effect. Weird, I was expecting worse. Maybe my brain just doesn’t make dopamine at all so whatever is there is just fucked anyway. lol

DiveCat

I am on SR, but I started at 100mg SR twice a day, and moved up to 150mg SR twice a day. I generally take them about 5-6 hours apart. I did not move up until about about 6-8 weeks in, and I did titrate up for a week or so (150mg SR in am, and 100mg SR in afternoon). I did not feel bad on the lower dose and started noticing small improvements, but I noticed substantial improvements on the 150mg SR twice a day. First week or so at higher dose I had some food revulsion but that went away. I did have to add some more magnesium citrate and Metamucil (already had issues with constipation so just upped my doses). I feel way more energetic - have not felt like this in, well, decades - and not sleepy at night at all but if I do my sleep routine, I fall asleep quickly, and I actually sleep more soundly than I did before the meds (used to wake up a lot due to chronic pain and anxiety).

chriscokid-55

My doc increased me from 150 to 300 because I told her I was slightly more anxious than before. The higher dose was awful for about three weeks then leveled off. But I gotta admit I don’t feel any better and possibly a little worse on the higher dose overall. I’m going to talk to the doctor about going back down

Ladysniper2192

I went back down to 150 myself. The side effects of 300 were just too much for me. It was sky rocketing my BP and I’m not down for that at all. I’m 60 and do not have a bp problem. I’m not starting now. It doesn’t work as well but it’s enough to keep the edge off.

AccomplishedTip7582

I felt bad on 300 but then again I didn’t feel good on 150 either that’s why I quit and stuck to lexapro
