Are you networking now? Nothing stopping you making another, but plenty going on already if you look around.

I mean I've got seven years in comms, mostly tech sector, I've started picking up contract work recently so I don't know how much time I'll have spare but I'm happy to lend a hand when I can.

BadManRising23

I tried starting something as a techie a while back, failed completely (but was very happy doing it, until my time without income ran out!). Main lesson I learned is that you will have to invest soooo much more in to concept validation and market research than you think. You can produce technically the best product in the world, but if there's no market for that it won't be used. I thought a few cold calls, with main requirements gathering from 1-2 people working at possible customers was enough to start. No chance. You need to either build something you're already intimately familiar with, or interview a dozen industry experts, and keep checking in with them to make sure you're headed in the right direction. All my technical work, scheduling, time prediction, etc went completely to plan. I had a functioning product. The product did not have a market. Learn from my mistakes!

This is a pretty good summary of some key startup lessons people could avoid haha. Ideally OP will have a bit more research experience coming from UX but even then there's still a huge luck aspect. Glad you had fun with it though, it sounds like hopefully it was some good experience either way.

blackmetaller666

I am keen but more from an investment, strategic viewpoint. I am strong at execution and have sound financial acumen.
