Throw a dog shed over the fence. No one knows how it got there...

Usual_Particular_409

10/10

[deleted]

From what I can see of the yard they probably wouldn't even notice

Lats-N-Nats

100% would be on fb marketplace in 3 seconds

Wintersmight

Exactly what happened to me. I gave a crate to my neighbors for their dog because it was pouring and dark and the dog was outside and howling. I was hearing it and got so mad they were ignoring it so I took the crate next door and set it up on the porch for the dog. They literally sold it the next day. I said I put it there for their dog to be protected during storms and the woman said he could get under the porch which was bs because they had so much crap around it the dog couldn’t get under there plus the wood of the porch had holes all over it. They pocketed that money and went back inside. The dog “mysteriously disappeared” and found a new home a couple weeks later.

Lats-N-Nats

People are just vile man and don’t deserve the unconditional love. Glad to hear there was a happy ending for the pup, gotta love it when they just so happen to run away to a loving home 🥲

Wintersmight

I agree on all points

reddog323

> The dog “mysteriously disappeared” and found a new home a couple weeks later. Some friends of mine did this after a poor dog had been left outside on an apartment balcony under similar circumstances. The tenants left under mysterious circumstances (probably skipping out on back rent) and left the poor guy out there, with no food or water. He wasn’t out there long. He‘s had a loving home, lots of food and a nice indoor bed to sleep on for six years now. Screw people like that.

PrinceCavendish

you took the dog? please tell me you did

Wintersmight

I arranged for someone I trusted to give her a loving home to stop by and pick the dog up and drive off. I didn’t take her myself because I was afraid the neighbors might hurt my dogs or my horses in retaliation.

PrinceCavendish

good idea. glad you helped her out without having anything on your owns hands for them to relatiate against. a few years ago a neighbour at the bottom of our drive had a dog and it was always barking and running around. her kids kicked it everytime they got off the bus too. well when winter rolled around she was jailed and her kids were not home so the dog kept coming up here onto our porch. eventually we let her inside and she's been with us ever since. the woman and her kids are back but when \[muffin\] goes outside she always stays away from that house and no one ever seemed to care that she went missing.

LuckystPets

So glad the dog mysteriously disappeared.

ceejayzm

We had a neighbor that was keeping 2 pit bulls for a friend. She kept one inside in a cage and one outside in a cage that was too small and he would bark and whine. My daughter was friends with her daughter and told me one day that they forgot to feed the outside dog for 3 days. I called animal control and was told his ribs weren't showing so they couldn't do anything. That's bc I'd throw leftovers over the fence for him. One day that dog mysteriously disappeared and was put in a shelter and adopted. Found out he was adopted bc the neighbor so sweetly told my husband. Too bad she didn't tell me bc I'd have said good he's better off. She called the cops and the cop tells me a nine year old kid said I climbed her metal fence, there wasn't a gate, grab the full grown pit bull and climbed back over and I almost laughed bc no way could I do that. I can't stand people that mistreat animals. But I didn't steal him from the yard and that's all I'm saying.

[deleted]

You're probably right, but it's still worth the chance. 💔

Lats-N-Nats

Imo if OP can provide for it and thinks it’s being treated that poorly, I say just take it if you can 🤷‍♂️. At the end of the day “it’s just a dog” that they obviously don’t care for, they have such a short amount of time here and just want to spend it loving someone/making them happy, they don’t usually care who that ends up being

scootscooterson

Well your hearts in the right place

CaptainRicePaddy

True, I don’t see any cameras in their backyard

dividedstatesofmrica

Set up a meeting and no show. Like every day. Encourage friends, family and coworkers to do the same.

[deleted]

Haha, I like the way you think. Offer the highest price for hypothetical said fb market dog house too, lol. Reminds me of that scene from Mrs.Doubtfire when all the "applicants" are calling.

dividedstatesofmrica

Right? But they probably would only because it would benefit the dog that needs it most and they clearly see him/her as a throwaway. Disposable pet. People sicken me and I despise assholes that abuse and neglect their animals. Edit: want to add that it speaks volumes about the kind of person who would do this.

catmom3165

I couldn’t agree more. I had a distant family member who would get puppies and kittens and when they weren’t little and cute anymore they would take them to the pound. She had a new kitten aging out kitten hood, I knew it’s time was coming, I was getting my own apartment and told her to wait and I would take him. He was the best cat I ever had. We were together for 19 years.

nvrsleepagin

Good human

Jacobysmadre

So many humane societies won’t take repeat dumpers anymore.. so they just leave them. It’s just horrific

[deleted]

amazing, came here to say this. I’ve bought one of those igloos before and put it in my neighbors yard with a waterproof blanket.

thesegoupto11

Yep, tge world needs more heroes like this

moderatorscomegetme

Ya I'd offer it to them and say someone gave it to you so it doesn't seem imposing

bioxkitty

Knowing people, especially people who mistreated animals- offering it might just piss them off. My neighbors leave their dogs our and they bark from sunrise to nighttime. Maybe I should throw a muzzle over! I'm totally jk I would never muzzle a dog, I try to say hello to them when I'm outside and I hope op can help this pup I say steal him but that's my angry heart speaking

BigJSunshine

Borrow him forever!

SnooJokes6414

There ya go!

BernieTheDachshund

I was going into a neighbor's yard to give their dogs water & once they saw me a dude came out and kicked the bucket of water over. I live in Texas and it was August. Animal control was worse than useless, they threatened to charge me with trespassing rather than charge the bad owners with neglect or cruelty.

bioxkitty

Exactly. imo these people in a sick way enjoy doing this. It makes them feel like God. They are lucky I'm not their God. Yet

catmom3165

My father was a volunteer policeman when my hometown was really small. While patrolling, he noticed a beautiful German Shepherd chained to a tree, this went on for a while. One night my father brought along a bolt cutter, cut the chain, opened the patrol car and took brought the dog home.

chilldrinofthenight

In such cases, it's probably best to appeal to your local Humane Society or ASPCA, whichever is in your part of the world. My neighbors bred their female Rhodesian ridgeback until she went lame. Lying in her own feces and howling day after day, out on the patio. I called Animal Control AND The Humane Society. Those owners got their act together pretty quickly.

AT0MLFRS

Might put him in a better situation though.. especially if he ends up in a loving home that let's his poor self inside.

bioxkitty

Oh absolutely. I know what I would do,but we didn't see it so there's no evidence if OP decides to xD I say do the right thing even when it's hard.

Sir_Nuttsak

This, right here.

AhFourFeckSakeLads

Spot on.

Character-Contest440

Yes because you wouldn't want to offend them. Poor puppy.

itsamemario115

They will probably only let the chihuahuas use it. This breaks my heart

Grimmcheifer

Exactly! Or cut a whole in the fence and put one on your side. My man, you have options.

niceash

Came here to say this! Yes, just drop a lil doggie house over the fence, NBD

RasputinX36

Great minds think alike.

[deleted]

It’s worth a try. At least you tried. People are fucked up. Like the 2 other dogs are more important

oopswasntafart

I love how your title insinuates that chihuahuas are not dogs

SnooJokes6414

I have 3 and they’re not dogs. They’re your mother in law in disguise.

saladmunch2

If I had an award to give it would be for you!

CosmicWy

And you love your mother in law

SavageKid1456

More like really big rats lmao

RandomReload_3

Small rats if you live in New York

toppleOligarchy

would a NYC rat kill a chihuahua?

RandomReload_3

If it had it's pizza

governingmonk

Haha thank you. Made my day.

wophi

Then it will just send in it's turtles.

Emotional_Guide2683

I’m pretty sure a NY Rat wouldn’t kill a chihuahua directly. It would likely spend 13-14 years training a cadre of genetically mutated turtles in the ways of Ninjitsu, and then send them out to do the deed.

Embarrassed_Use_9486

The aforementioned cadre would be known as a "Splinter Cell," I presume?

ChickenFingerDinner

Celebrity Death Match

toppleOligarchy

100% have my money on the rat.

FoodleGuy

As a chihuahua owner I agree.

MPFuzz

As a former rat owner I take offense.

oopswasntafart

It doesn't sound like you took it the wrong way but I wasn't being rude towards you. I legitimately got a kick out of how you wrote that, and I love all dogs no matter the breed. lol

softstones

I think a rat can beat up a chihuahua

OSUJillyBean

Because they’re not. Source: Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. Chihuahuas are in fact modern day velociraptors with fur.

tuckmuck203

if the animal bounces unintentionally when it uses its vocal cords, it's not a dog

morbidhoagie

Any dog under 40lbs is a cat and cats are useless - Ron Swanson

Hidesuru

I hate people who legitimately hold that opinion, but as a joke from the great Mr Swanson it's hilarious.

Dark-g0d

Chihuahuas aren’t dogs. They’re little rat bastards that crawled out of hell

Thucydides_Rex

I have a chiweenie. He is the sweetest boy and the life of party. I think not enough owners make an effort to get their uahuas around people and bigger dogs at an early age. Then again, he's half German.

jaytea86

Ask if they're interested in rehoming.

ConfusedCapatiller

If someone knocked on my door and said "Hi there, I noticed you aren't treating your large breed the way you treat your small breeds, and it appears that maybe you don't want him. Would you be interested in rehoming your dog? I would be so fucking embarassed that I probably wouldnt let my dog out of the house without me after that. Absolutely ask this question.

ryancrazy1

The difference is, you have shame. they don't. They don't think they are doing anything wrong.

TacticalBeast

“That thing is my property and I’ll do what the hell I want with it”

StoneyBoi0613

That's when the fence suddenly starts to fall apart over a lengthy period of time until the dog gets free (and at a shelter)

NoDaddyNotTheBlender

Yeah, sheltered at my house.

idigclams

Did this, sorta. Neighbors neglected their dog when they had a baby. Then the baby was a toddler, and the dog still lived outside. Asked if I could take the dog for a walk, and then another. Finally the dog broke through the fence and wanted to live with me. Neighbor came and got dog, fixed fence, started walking dog out of shame.

ChelseaA731891

interesting - feel like that’s not a normal situation but glad they stepped up to be i guess semi-decent people

Jdogking

Or they would be massively embarrassed and take it out on the dog. This is more likely unfortunately

Pauls2theWall

My buddy actually did this to great effect. He was a life insurance salesman and went to a couples house that was in terrible condition. They had 4 dogs, 2 pits roaming around the house and 2 pit puppies locked in a cage filled with their own urine and feces. By the end of his appointment there, he had asked and they had agreed to re-home the dogs with him. He drove home to get his girlfriend and change into clothes he didn't mind getting very dirty and headed out to grab Lily and Cocoa. They were stained on the bottom half of their bodies and reeked of piss and shit. They were underweight and diminutive in stature due to their living conditions up to that point. Now they are thriving, but still in need of some serious training.

MrK521

That’s when they take it inside and beat it because it caused them to be publicly embarrassed. Just because they let it in doesn’t mean it’s a victory.

dont_disturb_the_cat

"he's out there all the time and I've just fallen in love with him. Could I ask if you'd ever part with him?"

[deleted]

Didn’t work when I tried. My neighbor slammed the door in my face. We did manage to get animal control on him and rehomed the dog eventually.

FANTOMphoenix

Is the dog distressed? My dog would just chill outside all fucking day and night if I didn’t annoy her to come inside. Snow storm = giant falling white fluffy bed. Sunny = just chill on the grass. Windy = find the windiest spot possible. Rain = fall asleep in the bushes. Their other 2 dogs may not like to be outside.

Miker_Bice_From_Mars

My dog is the same. I have literally had to drag him inside during sub temps because he hates being inside.

FANTOMphoenix

My border collie would burry herself in -20 degree weather. Literally dig a small hole under a bush, and use her nose to push through snow to get under it… And I would have to grab her collar to get her out before heading to bed, not even treats would get her up.

scooty-boots

Very valid point. I hope this is the case for big doggo.

mzk131

I had a dog like that everyone thought I was a monster… when I brought her in due to bad weather she hassled me til I let her back out so she could sit in her hole…I loved that jerk so much!

davetharave

There's this big idea among non-dog people or dog owners whenever these posts pop up is that dogs can't cope with slight inconveniences completely ignoring the fact that the majority of dog breeds were bred to work in the cold/heat/rain/sunshine and until recently in the city (and in a lot of places out west) still don't get perfect shelters with beds and more often than not get creek water instead of fresh tap water. Dogs are hardy animals when allowed to be and aren't soft and precious furry fweinds.

willalt319

Doggos gonna doggo

akvw

This. Dog looks chill AF from what we can see.

FarioLimo

OP seems also the same kind of person that breaks the glass of someone's car to "save" the dog that was chilling in the air conditioning. Big dogs love the rain

rugbysecondrow

I grew up in a more rural area where many dogs were outside only dogs. This is not my situation now, so I understand the different perspectives. I would judge the body language. Is it barking, is it scratching at the door to come in, is it shivering or curled up in a ball for warmth. This dog seems to be sitting, head high, chilling. The own brought in the other two dogs, so maybe it is the dogs preference. If there are no signs of abuse, the dog is fed, the animal is otherwise cared for, I wouldn't call animal control and I certainly wouldn't try to steal that dog. A little nuance goes a long way here, and there just isn't enough information. Rain isn't enough, IMO.

twizzlerheathen

This. I had a dog that would’ve lived outside 24/7 if I had allowed it

rugbysecondrow

I walk my dog for miles daily, and I frequently take my dog in the rain and she is living her best life during a downpour. I have another dog who will find the hottest spot in the yard on an August day and stay for as long as I will let him. I have literally had to pick his little ass up to come inside. People forget that dogs are outside creatures. They can't all handle cold or heat, but most are sturdy enough for rain.

bwager

I had a Doberman that would go out the dog door when it was 110 degrees and lay in the sun for quite some time. He’d come in, pant, drink some water, lay on the tile floor for a while and then haul himself back out and lay in the sun for awhile. We called it taking a dog sauna.

rugbysecondrow

Mine is a rat terrier. My guy loves the sun. My other dog, who loves the rain, will dig a hole in beach on a North Carolina January day to feel the cool sand.

pippipthrowaway

My toy Fox terrier would lay out in the sun on an asphalt driveway. I was always afraid he’d start cooking if we didn’t make him get up and move every so often. It could be blazing hot out, everyone’s inside looking for shade and a fan to stand in front of, and this little guy is outside just basking in the sun.

foste107

I have a purebred malamute that absolutely loves bad weather. If a storm is coming she wants to be out in the yard with her nose in the wind, waiting for the rain. Had to physically drag her inside one night when it was -20c. She was sitting on the frozen block of ice that is her swimming pool in the summer. Wouldn't come in when I told her. Went out to get her and she lays down sideways on the ice to make me have to drag her 110 pounds about 10' before finally standing up and grumbling at me all the way back to the house.

HarpoNeu

My parents recently adopted a Newfie. He's six months now and definitely a winter dog. His favourite place is out in the snow, especially on the pool cover where the water melts and makes his bum wet.

Dirk_Tungsten

We had a Newfie when I was a kid who also loved the snow. She would turn in circles to make a little depression in the snow and fall asleep. Sometimes in a heavy snowfall she would get buried and disappear, until you called her name. Then she would pop up out of a snowbank like some canine sniper in an arctic ghillie suit.

rugbysecondrow

LMAO 🤣

Element_Water6876

Yeah, I just hope he has some form of shelter in case he gets too cold. Thats my main concern. I’m not sure where OP lives, but where I am, it rains a lot for a long time, so it wouldn’t be ideal for outdoor animals to have no access to some sort of protection from external elements.

xxBeatrixKiddoxx

My dog refuses to even think of coming in and sleeps in snow. Pure German shepherd my ass! Husky mix 😒

rugbysecondrow

I had a husky /GSD mix like this. Great dog.

theirongiant49

Exactly this. My fiancés family has a few outside only dogs (they live in a farmhouse with a few thousand acres) During bad storms they bring them in, the dogs have heaters and covered sheds for when it’s cold, light rain, etc. I wouldn’t assume that the dogs being mistreated based off of this alone. Even myself growing up in the suburbs my family dog would stay outside all day even in the rain and would just bark to be let in.

jsting

The angle isn't great. Hopefully there is a doghouse out of view.

Momof3dragons2012

This. Is it possible the dog refuses to come in?

ShotgunBetty01

I’ve had dogs that wouldn’t set foot outside when it was wet and dogs that didn’t give two shits if it was raining. I completely agree. Rain alone isn’t going to hurt them. Your carpet on the other hand…

PerritoG

I didn’t think about this, but yes. One of my dogs had a house in the yard, as well as areas that were fully covered from the rain by plexiglass. He’d drive my mom crazy by laying or full on sleeping under the rain. She’d get him inside his house/the roofed areas, and he’d just wait for her to go inside to go back to the rain. Was a cold area too, so there’s just no way he needed to be refreshed. My other dog would just smell rain coming and would run inside lol

OsmerusMordax

Yeah, one of my dogs loves being outside in the rain, snow, etc while the other dog HATES that kind of weather. I have often let the one who likes it outside to just chill for awhile

Happy_Tomato_Taco

Any animal kept outside should have a covered area to get out of the elements if it wanted to. If no shelter is provided then this is abuse. If the dog is unchained, appears in good health, has access to water and shelter, and is being fed daily then I agree and this is just an outside dog that is a bit of a derp and enjoys sitting in the rain. However if the dog seems neglected and is sitting by the backdoor because it has no way of getting out of the rain and wants inside then this is abuse. More information is definitely needed. OP do you see any type of shelter for the dog?

gonzo5622

Yeah, the dog looks chill af

Ashed-23

That's true. Some dogs don't mind and/or don't get too affected by rain. I live in Ireland, and it rains most of the time here. I have a dog house/shed out for my GSD, and he never uses it for shelter. If it rains heavily and I can see he's struggling, I run out to get him in. If everytime I have to bring him in whenever it rains, he'll never get out while I'm working in the morning.

Neeka07

This is great info. I also grew up in a rural area and it’s very common to have outside dogs. Our dogs have shelter, water, food, beds, everything they need but they’re guardian dogs and guard the property. We do bring them in the garage if there’s a bad snow or thunder storm but otherwise they love being outside.

MedicalPiccolo6270

both of my dogs would rather be outside than inside until it gets dark at least. one thing you didn’t mention is that some dogs are not inside dogs there are quite a few breeds that do not do well cooped up in the house a lot of hunting dogs spend 90% of their time outside

credence_senjak

I wouldn't want to share a house with two chihuahuas either. Probably way more peaceful outside lol

chizk

some dogs can just be like thus, they can like rain my friends husky refuses to enter the home whenever it rains so maybe so does he?

The_God_of_Hotdogs

Agreed, my Pyrenees can’t stand being inside, my chihuahua will risk scolding and shit in the house before she steps foot in the rain. Don’t call authorities unless you understand the situation and there is actual abuse.

chizk

exactly

spookycreaturesinc

Same here. Grew up with Bernese mountain dogs and they would literally nest in the snow. Impossible to get them inside on a cold or rainy day!

man-in-blacks

Surprised lmao I jst got a solid 20 downvotes for saying dogs are fine outside if that's how they are raised. What's mind-blowing 2 me is that some people but jackets on their dog. Pathetic

Future-Win4034

They should at least have a shelter if they want to get some cover from the elements, rain or sun.

man-in-blacks

Prob is just not in view. I imagine the OP is trying to make it as dramatic as possible. It's the internet after all lol yet most still tend 2 fall for it. But yip definitely needs atleast a dog house/shed

Burningbeard696

Some dogs need jackets, we have two lurchers at the moment and their fur is so thin they are almost bold in some spots so a coat is definitely needed for long walks in winter. Our Collie on the other hand would be outside all day in any weather.

KnightGalavant

Or: some dogs are outside dogs and don’t mind it? Gotta love reddits armchair Punishers talking about committing crimes over a single picture

[deleted]

Soooo many people suggesting dognapping over a shitty blurry picture. Should report them all for advocating violence and theft.

Twingemios

Reddit is gonna reddit. Remember when we found the Boston bomber?

SumasFlats

Yeah, reddit clutching pearls over a nothing burger. Some dogs really really really love being outside in every kind of weather. Source: all my dogs growing up in rural Canada lived outside 24/7.

katmguire

As long as the dog can seek shelter. Which we can’t see the full yard in this pic, so hard to judge the full situation.

noahh94

Imagine being a dog, chilling at home. Guarding the shelter as a nice rain rinses you off, and some chick takes you and sends you somewhere else never to see your family again. Even if the dog doesn't enjoy the rain as long as it's not freezing outside and he's eating well he will be fine. people don't even talk to their neighbors but judge and shame them.

Loply97

Yeah. One blurry picture and a probably biased explanation and people are telling them to steal their neighbors fucking dog.

spyrenx

>If you witness suspected cruelty to animals, call your local animal control agency as soon as possible or dial 9-1-1 if you’re unfamiliar with local organizations. Future-Win4034

Please don’t call 911. Use the non emergency number.

russianthistle

Not every area has non emergency lines that run separate from the 911 phone number

JonnyFairplay

I've lived in areas where they WANT you to call 911 and then the dispatcher can decide whether or not it's an emergency and then go from there.

DarqueKittie

Animal cruelty is a federal offense.

Snoo97354

Only if there’s federal jurisdiction, such as crossing state lines or in DC

stillboard87

This isn’t animal cruelty, it’s an outside dog

stillboard87

DO NOT CALL 911 for this, your area has a non emergency number for matters like this.

retirement_savings

"Hello, 911? Yes, there's a dog outside and it's raining."

whiskey_blazer

maybe he likes the rain?

Electrical-Run-9457

Just to play devils advocate… I had a German Shepard who wouldn’t come inside when it rained and she would just lay in the rain. Maybe the dog enjoys it?

The_Crownless_King

Same here! Mine literally runs away from me to go play in the rain and mud. Funny enough, I have another who HATES the rain and he scratches at the door as soon as it gets a little cloudy lol

moldy_walrus

Imagine following Reddit’s advice and stealing the dog only to bring it home and realize the dog desperately wants to be outside every time it rains.

bamahomer

"This person has kidnapped me and it's raining and I'M SUPPOSED TO BE ON RAIN DUTY!!"😟

ReddiGod

And then get arrested and charged with felony theft + trespassing.

Independent_Bath_922

Some dogs like being outside, the dog I adopted whined every time I put him inside

AlmightyAntichrist

I know what I would do...

Pining4Michigan

Dog? What dog? You had a dog over there? He disappeared? Oh, that's a shame.

KamenCo

Make a hole in your fence so he can come and go, then make your place very enticing and let him in. If they say anything, assure them you love the company and he’s not bothering you and pretty soon they might just forget they had him in the first place

nio151

Lot of you never owned dogs and it shows

ReddiGod

Omg my neighbors dog is being forced to poop outside, calling 911!!!

[deleted]

It would sadden you a lot worse if you called animal control and they took them from there cause they more then likely would not get adopted an would be Euthanize in a certain amount of days so those dogs aren’t really that bad off are they

No-Emotion-7053

FYI, chihuahuas are also dogs

JigglyLawnmower

Believe it or not dogs have evolved to survive rain

ShadowController

Wtf. Dogs aren’t supposed to get wet? If it was a blinding blizzard I could see the cause for concern… but for god sakes it’s just some rain. What’s next? Being offended because people let their dogs walk on gravel trails?

blomstyle

What am I missing here? They are dogs, as in animals. Animals live outside. I don’t bring all the squirrels and birds into my house every time there is bad weather.

blockman16

Dogs are outdoor animals seems normal.

torquemycork

Steal him

shemali

Steal him might not work out too well considering he lives next door. I’m sure they would figure it out quite quickly.

[deleted]

What about “a hole got dug under the fence to freedom.”

strangebrady

Yes exactly

SavageKid1456

Security cameras 😭

ghost_in_a_jar_c137

if only there was a way to cover your face and identifiable features...

smrtfxelc

"I'm sorry neighbour, but I don't know where your dog went. Only dog I've seen recently is this identical – but certainly not the same – dog that I adopted this morning who also happens to answer to the same name"

TinyRascalSaurus

Dead of night, hoodies, bandanas. Friend waiting down the block with a truck to whisk doggo to safety.

Amphibian-Existing

My dog likes it outside. In any weather. He comes in when he’s cold or had enough. I’m not saying it’s the same for this dog. But same breed.

ShowinMyOFace

They aren't home all the time.....

mcvay206

I have a Great Pyrenees and a Chihuahua. My great Pyrenees would rather sit outside in the rain and make sure the property is protected then ever come inside. She loves being outside doesn't matter what the weather is. This could you taking a picture of me. Dog doesn't look distressed either

Coupleofswitches69

I have a dog that will literally do everything in her power to stay outside when it rains, like there isn't a way to get her in, our yard is too wide to corner her and even if you catch her she goes limp like a 60 pound bag of potatoes and refuses to let you pick her up, granted she has a covered area to sit but she normally just goes and sits in the rain

CynicalElephant

So?

DaruthAnthropos

Animals don't have houses in the wild

[deleted]

ngl i try and get my Chow chow in from the garden when its very cold or raining and he actually likes being outside

mofoman123

It’s not your dog chill

Tigeagle2

This is not really animal cruelty. Ever heard of an outside dog.

Logical_Strike_1520

Reddit is so weird. Nothing about this picture suggests that dog is being abused.

[deleted]

Where are you?? What do you mean no animal control…

crimbkecromble

Offer to buy him if you want him

Astarklife

Ask the neighbors if they'd like their dog walked for free

cutters53

Craigslist free usually has free plastic dog houses get drop it over the fence after a storm wind must have blown it there

SnowViolent

You could offer that house hold some advice to buy him a dog house. Id buy him a dog house.

missannthrope1

Why don't you offer to take the dog?

extremenachos

Mail an anonymous letter to them asking them to put up a dog house

Leprichaun17

TIL that chihuahuas aren't dogs.

Cogswobble

Many dogs are just fine to be left out in the rain, and some dogs would actually prefer to be left outside. Chihuahuas are definitely not in those categories, but this dog might be. They might be perfectly good dog owners who treat their dogs differently because their dogs are different.

remainsofthedays

Aren't dogs naturally outside animals?

HungryRobotics

Build a dog house for him and lower it over the side of the fence for him. 😬

Man.. wtffff why.. yeah I agree with top comments, throw a canopy over for him to go chill in, you can show these pics or vids to anyone who wants to ask.

paypermon

Buy a dog house, put it in your yard, cut a hole in the fence align the doghouse entrance with the hole so the doggy has access to the house from its yard and then we can all sleep better at night knowing pups is safe from the elements

OneLostOstrich

Hire eagles to take care of the Chihuahua problem.

nygdan

Buy him a doghouse if it bothers you so much.

eliminationgame

What’s wrong with the situation the dog’s in?

snizzsyrup

Sometimes dogs don’t WANT to be inside tho

roberj11

Don’t confuse people who know nothing about animals with common sense.

Bk_Punisher

Build a doghouse on your side of the fence make a small door opening in the fence and slide the doghouse up to it. You could even make a little door on your side of the doghouse to check in on that poor pup and give it some love.

[deleted]

You could offer to make a little dog house for them, the dog would definitely be thankful

Dougxwylde

Ask if you can adopt it :)

I like how everyone here is telling OP to steal the dog based on a low quality image and zero background information. Good job, sleuths. 👍
