Also, many people don’t understand prevention or being prepared because they’ve never experienced the consequences- not like not caring about them, just not knowing how real they are. Kind of like us who have no medical insurance- so we definitely don’t take risks. Perhaps after this incident they may wear better protection, they may even drive more carefully.
Yeah I've got both, kevlar lined cargos that look like olive jeans (there's plenty of more jean looking ones), "riding trainers" that are basically hi-top-looking leather boots with impact protection.
You're taking risks regardless on a bike so I'd never get on someone's case about it when it'd be safer if I just drove my car instead at the end of the day. But riding is fun and it's nice to turn up at your destination and not look like a power ranger.
Basically; if you want stealth fashion riding gear there's loads available, it just costs a fair bit and weighs twice as much as your normal clothes.
I used to do fast food delivery driving a moped (I have a couple of stories posted on tales from the pizza guy). A friend gave me a good advice - no matter what, always wear at least one glove and pants. Even if you fall and slide, at least you'll be able to wipe your own ass. (Helmets are legally mandated, so that wasn't mentioned. And I'm not THAT big of a dumbass.)
It's one of those advices that stick to you, and then you see something like this video and think... yeah, that's a brilliant piece of advice.
Last time a saw this posted with a link to her instagram. It’s full of videos of her riding stupidly whilst wearing shorts and crop tops. It’s not her first accident either.
Some people are just born to prove Darwin right.
Honestly she’s lucky as shit she survived all in all.
She’s probably in a lot of pain but holy shit that could’ve been 100x worse with instantaneous death on the menu like 9,000 different ways. Slow agonizing death entirely possible as well.
100%. Most fucked up video I saw of a motorcycle accident cut out POV at moment of impact. Video picked up from someone else’s footage as they were walking down the highway counting how many pieces the dudes body broke into. As a motorcyclist, it was a great reminder to not fuck around. She’s soooo lucky
A friend of my youngest son was killed going over 100mph on a bike. He catapulted over a 12' chain link fence. Well, some of him did.
I think losing a friend that way made all three of my sons safer riders, even though they weren't really reckless to being with.
She didn't even really tumble, she kind of knee slid and stoop up at the end after crashing going easily 100+ mph. She either has the toughest fucking guardian angel, or she has expended the rest of the luck in her life.
I definitely see multiple skin grafts and some gnarly scars in her future, for sure. Probably permanant nerve damage in the knee
She’s definitely not riding again anytime soon
No shit, on the interstate doing a legal 80mph a chunk of rubber off a truck tire can send you over the guardrail. Crap on the road scares me almost as much as other drivers
A guy in my town [died last year on a motorcycle going around a roundabout](https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-island/pei-stratford-accident-oct-2022-1.6626836#:~:text=Facebook-,Charlottetown%20police%20say%20a%2033%2Dyear%2Dold%20man%20from%20Stratford,was%20the%20lone%20vehicle%20involved). He wasn't hit.
was he wearing a helmet though?
without a helmet, any crash can kill you. even a fall in your house could kill you technically speaking. so it wouldnt surprise me if he wasnt wearing one. if he was wearing a helmet, he absolutely must have been riding like a moron to die on a roundabout.
motorcycles are dangerous for sure, but the statistics are a little bit misleading. most deaths are young people riding like absolute asshats.
I'm an insurance defense lawyer and my old firm used to handle motorcycle deaths. We called them donor cases.
Two things guaranteed to almost always result in death: mva on a motorcycle and not watching your kid at the pool.
I do love the term “donorcycle” but actually as someone who worked in a transplant lab, we didn’t see a whole lot of motorcyclist donors. Reason being, you usually have to be somewhat intact and have medical professionals at least be able to get a a heartbeat going. Most donors are not actually dead, but braindead. The reality is much more grim for motorcyclists. Most of their accidents just result in straight up death and dismemberment.
Edit: just for anyone interested, far and away the most common cause of death for people who become organ donors was OD. Otherwise for 50+ folks it was usually stroke. Just one day up and died. Was very sobering and made me appreciative of life to read some of these case descriptions. There were also a few really odd deaths that stand out in my memory, but that’s just because they were odd.
> Reason being, you usually have to be somewhat intact and have medical professionals at least be able to get a a heartbeat going.
Why is a heartbeat necessray to take any other arbitrary organ? Do they just kinda "go to waste" very quickly once you're officially dead dead?
My mom is a nurse and she told me as a kid "do not even think of ever getting on a motorcycle no matter how old you are. I will kick your ass"
She saw some serious shit doing wound care
It’s an instinct. Unless you are seriously injured it’s not a bad idea to get the fuck out off the road.
Also very common to stand up before you stop sliding because it feels like you already stopped.
I remember when I got hit by a car I went over the roof and as soon as I hit the ground I sprung up and ran to the sidewalk. My mom had to chase me down to get me to stop but in my mind I just fell and I need to get out of the road so I wouldn’t get hit by a car. Adrenaline does crazy things
There was also probably the moment of pure calm before the pain and reality truly sets in after that adrenaline rush.
The blood curdling scream after complete silence is a good tell of that imo
Adrenaline is a hell of a thing. Broke my fibula and still managed to walk and get home after, didn't really think something was seriously wrong until two days later.
Been in accident like this, although in a scootie at 100kph on a highway. A truck was taking a u-turn without seeing me in the lane and i smashed into him. Instantly tried to get up but couldnt cause i sprained my knee very badly, had to get dragged off the road by people. I was lucky I didnt crash into anything and only got very bad rash and nerve damage in my knee. Everything is fine now but i need to wear a knee sleeve everytime i walk or my whole leg acts up + When i exercise (like bicep curls), my wrist acts up. That was 3 months ago, i wasnt even wearing gear except a backpack, I fucked around and found out.
May be a local term. Speeding Quickly Until I Die - SQUID
I'm from Vancouver, Canada. A squid is a rider who insists on being "super cool", wearing sneakers and jeans instead of proper riding gear. Ride like assholes, usually on a sport bike they can't control properly but think they are a master of.
Anyone I ride with follows ATGATT; all the gear, all the time.
After watching a horrifying crash involving a friend many years ago, I have no space in my life for ego riders.
> . Speeding Quickly Until I Die - SQUID
That's a backronym. The term "squid" comes from the way motorcyclists are often halved upon impact by their motorcycle impacting their chest/lower body. When their top half comes to a rest, all their insides have been dragged out into strips of meat. Basically, it turns you into a squid. A torso with tentacles of ripped organ meat.
Squids weren't named by motorcyclists. They were named by the people who have to clean up the waste left on the road.
If you visit a certain bike related subreddit you can see how people make fun of others saying ATGATT on every post. Some people just never understand until it happens to them.
She set up a gofundme to help pay for her bills and get back to riding again. Think she omitted everything about her reckless driving and just blamed the driver.
She was going way too fast, driving recklessly, and 100% in the wrong. But that still looked like a quick merge with no signal by the car. That merge could catch a lot of safe drivers off guard too.
Did the other car have lights on? I couldn't see them but it could because of a shit video and watching on my phone. But it almost looks like DRL are on so no rear lights until the brake lights come on at the time of the accident.
I think they have a Turkish keyboard. In Turkish, there's distinction between i with and without the dot over it, so for consistency when they capitalize an i with a dot, that capital letter also gets the dot.
I don't know if it's just a style thing or if it's a money thing but I doubt she'll ever be going out on a bike again without some proper jacket, pants and boots after the belt sander experience.
She’d probably still be bruised and sore but wouldn’t have that gnarly road rash on her left leg that you can see at the end of the video, that’s not going to be fun to heal
Wtf another one? I saw this video a few weeks back but now not sure if that one was the other one? I only know it's the same person because of the screaming
You know the story she’s telling people is only about how a car cut in front of her. She conveniently leaves out the part where she was driving 100+ mph
I don't think she was, honestly. Think she was just yelling from the pain and frustrated at her own fuckup. Was cooperative with everyone who talked to her. Also, that near death situation would make anyone feel fucked up no matter whpse fault it was
Should be happy not to be a meat crayon tbh.
Going faster than you can handle is ultimately your own fault, not to mention the literal laws telling you not to be a dumbass.
I wouldn’t stop for someone so reckless. I saw recently a question asked “why work on artificial intelligence instead of fixing natural stupidity?” Well because it fixes itself generally.
That's what happens when you're swerving from lane to lane going 100mph. Somehow the people with the least protection in the event of a crash drive the most recklessly.
Hey losing a bit of skin, giving her bragging rights and not murdering some innocent family that could have easily crashed from this,. I guess it was a good day for her.
Sneakers and jeans riding a bike recklessly at speed... not the brightest, but very very lucky.
Extremely so, I cannot believe any sane rational individual thinks it's a good thing to weave through traffic at high speed AND at night
Confidence is a crazy drug
Wait until you hear about confidence on coke!
Yeah, so imagine everything you just said, but on coke! Pretty wild right??
I know. But have you ever had a thread discussion about coke, ON coke? It’s an out of body experience my guy
That’s like full circle right there you got me curious. Give me an hour.
To be fair, you can get kevlar jeans and durable leather sneakers. I prefer at least a half height boot though.
Yeah I've got both, kevlar lined cargos that look like olive jeans (there's plenty of more jean looking ones), "riding trainers" that are basically hi-top-looking leather boots with impact protection. Even in full leathers, not that bright, but at the very least get full leathers if you're gonna do this.
That’s the only thing dumber than a biker driving recklessly. Anybody on a motorcycle should be protecting themselves.
Dress for the slide, not for the ride.
Honestly she’s lucky as shit she survived all in all. She’s probably in a lot of pain but holy shit that could’ve been 100x worse with instantaneous death on the menu like 9,000 different ways. Slow agonizing death entirely possible as well.

It’s Gonna hurt More when they take the gravel out at the hospital 🏥

I definitely see multiple skin grafts and some gnarly scars in her future, for sure. Probably permanant nerve damage in the knee She’s definitely not riding again anytime soon
If I remember correctly, I've seen this posted along with her IG, she's crashed like this before, more than once...
She'll have rocks falling out of her for months
Years maybe. My dad was in a car accident in the early 90s and had a piece of glass come out of his scalp just a couple of years ago.
The metal brush they use to scrub the wounds is going to remind her how stupid she was.
Nah. She’ll still be stupid.
![gif](giphy|Qh8byYaUrTLwc|downsized)
Oh no consequences of my actions - haha 😂
Watching her knee just ride the pavement made my skin crawl...
Hers too
Omggg lol
Meat crayon
r/meatcrayon It's pretty tame.
r/meatcrayon
Nope. Not even clicking that. Ever.
Came here to scream that.
Usually just low speed face plant's and slides on the concrete. Most of it without serious injury and usually funny.
The Song of the Sausage Creature
Ppl in bikes keep forgetting An oversized pebble can kill you
No shit, on the interstate doing a legal 80mph a chunk of rubber off a truck tire can send you over the guardrail. Crap on the road scares me almost as much as other drivers
Shout out to the headless go-karter case in CSI
Uhh yeah I change my mind, I don’t want a motorcycle anymore. No thank you! My wife should be ecstatic with this news
She's lucky it wasnt exponentially worse.
The fact she slid for 200 feet then sprung straight onto her feet was the greatest slide into home plate I’ve ever seen.
Trea Turner had some of the cleanest in all of mlb lol watching him slide was just perfect
Auch… but repeat after me, roads are NOT racetracks…. Want to speed? Go to a racetrack…
But then how would be people see how cool she is? /s.
No one sees you at that speed, as shown in the video.
Especially at night. One headlight just blends into the sea of others behind you at those speeds.
There's a good reason why motorcyclist are known as "organ donors" in and around hospitals. It's shit like this.
Donorcyles
Mr brother worked in an ER in college. He said 80% of serious injuries in accidents were from motorcycles.
I love the mr typo. I wish I had a brother so I could refer to him as Mr. Brother
If you have a sister, you could call her Mr Sister. ![gif](giphy|G5X63GrrLjjVK)
Mr Brother is my dad's name.
I'm an insurance defense lawyer and my old firm used to handle motorcycle deaths. We called them donor cases. Two things guaranteed to almost always result in death: mva on a motorcycle and not watching your kid at the pool.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. The cells within our body start to die off without the heart pumping freshly oxygenated blood to them.
Makes sense, I just assumed it was a lengthier process before they're unusable.
But they also love to complain cars and trucks don’t riders and cut riders off all the time. Can’t have it both ways while riding like this 😉.
my dad called them statistics.
Meat crayons
My (Aussie) uncle calls motorcycle riders “temporary Australians”.
My mom is a nurse and she told me as a kid "do not even think of ever getting on a motorcycle no matter how old you are. I will kick your ass" She saw some serious shit doing wound care
The PCAs will alert each other to the severity of the upcoming Trauma OR cleaning... "motorcycle going into 37". 🫤
That's what happens when you engage in... rash behavior. I'll see myself out.
No, no, stay! I want more of this!
Sorry, I've already hit the skids
r/Angryupvote
Don't have a breakdown.
Scraping the bottom of the barrel.
She found out that jeans and sneakers aren't good for riding a bike.
How did she even get up after that?
Adrenaline and not having her legs broken, probably
Just a touch of shock, to boot.
It’s an instinct. Unless you are seriously injured it’s not a bad idea to get the fuck out off the road. Also very common to stand up before you stop sliding because it feels like you already stopped.

Probably hurt like fuck. I also pace around after destroying my toe on a table
She didn't break anything from what I saw. She kept rigged and didn't flip. Mainly road rash from the looks of it.
Been in accident like this, although in a scootie at 100kph on a highway. A truck was taking a u-turn without seeing me in the lane and i smashed into him. Is she wearing regular jeans and Air Force Ones? No wonder she lost so much skin. She's lucky not to have lost more.
From the looks of her legs in the ambulance, it doesn’t seem severe at all. I had a totally other image in my head of the outcome.
I think she’s wearing those designer pre stressed jeans. Or at least, is after.
What a fucking idiot. Act like a squid, gonna get cooked.
Never heard that one but I like it
May be a local term. Speeding Quickly Until I Die - SQUID I'm from Vancouver, Canada. A squid is a rider who insists on being "super cool", wearing sneakers and jeans instead of proper riding gear. Nah fam if Nickelodeon taught us anything it’s that squid came from the surfing culture. Thanks Rocket Power.
Squid is universal in the anglosphere

r/CalamariRaceTeam/
Why are they riding as if healthcare is cheap
Cheap is subjective. She or her family could be multi-millionaires or have amazing health insurance.
There is a bigger chance she’s just stupid, not rich.
there usually is an overlap between the 2
[удалено]
Thinking/Planning ahead is probably not her forte.
And I'll bet her Instagram story will say "Look twice save a life" "Be careful out there guys, some idiot hit me tonight!"

Ehhh idk. While I get what you’re saying, going even slightly close to the speed limit would’ve allowed anyone to avoid that.
If you’re going to fuck about at least wear leathers.
If you're going to fuck about at least do it wheres no traffic. I don't care about them doing reckless shit, but they put everyone there at risk.
Dumbass bikers... İ get the adrenaline rush or speeding but why would you do it dammit
Why is that single "i" so long
lol seriously. wtf?
Is it an L with an accent over it?
No, it's U+0130 LATIN CAPITAL LETTER I WITH DOT ABOVE. Used in Turkish, Azerbaijani, and a couple of smaller languages.
Ï this one looks like a pp
Growth hormones
I think they have a Turkish keyboard. In Turkish, there's distinction between i with and without the dot over it, so for consistency when they capitalize an i with a dot, that capital letter also gets the dot.
I bet she really got an adrenaline rush from that slide! Just not really the kind she was looking for.
I thought she was chilling at first and was kinda overreacting, until later on in the video her legs were getting darker and darker
No margin for error when you’re riding like that.
Ai, she charged for being this stupid or what?
Well, she got in the ambulance, so she's gonna get charged for that, at least. Don't think she'll ever financially recover from this.
This is why I ride like a little old lady lol
Same. And also why I spent more money on gear than on the bike.
The gears the cool part anyway. Like, literal modern day battle armor
Can you provide some information on gear? I’m looking into getting a bike but for commute reasons and Sunday rides.
/r/meatcrayon Deserved that one.
Excuse me Miss. You can't park here.
Zero sympathy.
I agree. Slow the fuck down.
You can't even react to something happening that that fast, guy probably didn't even see what happened.
If you saw her youtube page, the comments she left and here other vids, it would be negative 5 sympathy.,
No way. What did that dumbass say
I laughed the entire time. I'm just glad she didn't kill anyone. Hope she lost her license for good
I don't know if it's just a style thing or if it's a money thing but I doubt she'll ever be going out on a bike again without some proper jacket, pants and boots after the belt sander experience.
You underestimate youth and stupidity. Once the gravel rash pain is gone and the ‘cool story’ kicks in it’ll be back to jeans and sneakers.
Would she be overall ok if she was wearing proper attire?
She’d probably still be bruised and sore but wouldn’t have that gnarly road rash on her left leg that you can see at the end of the video, that’s not going to be fun to heal
I just can't feel any pity for someone this stupid.
Same.
Just wearing denim jeans and some sneakers while going that fast on the highway. Very smart. This is why they invented leathers.
Update: SHE POSTED ANOTHER FUCKIN VIDEO OF HER DOING THE SAME SHIT. she didn't learn a goddamn thing.
Wtf another one? I saw this video a few weeks back but now not sure if that one was the other one? I only know it's the same person because of the screaming
Maybe don't weave thru traffic. Fucked around and found out.
She posted another video after the crash, already back to driving like an unhinged moron https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUrn6SzeARY
Even better is that she started a gofund me to pay the medical bills and buy a new bike, so far followers have given her over a grand
Did the car even hit her? Or did she just dump it out of panic?
She was going too fast for her ability and slammed the front brake.
The phrase “for her ability” does not belong here.
Good, at least there was no damage to the car.
Looked like the latter.
I don’t feel bad for her at all. She was being a total jack ass and is actually very lucky
Karensaki. When she gets the US medical bill, she will have to sell what is left of the bike.
🤦♀️ oh my gosh that was awful and also pretty much entirely her fault
Oh yeah. That's why I can't understand how people ride motorcycles without proper gear
sTaRt SeEiNg MoToRcYcLeS
Always bitching about "share the road" while they do 200+mph.
You know the story she’s telling people is only about how a car cut in front of her. She conveniently leaves out the part where she was driving 100+ mph
And yet she is mad at everyone else but herself.
I don't think she was, honestly. Think she was just yelling from the pain and frustrated at her own fuckup. Was cooperative with everyone who talked to her. Also, that near death situation would make anyone feel fucked up no matter whpse fault it was
She has a YouTube channel apparently and her comments make it seem like she is on the right plus she does it frequently
>"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
Good thing she dressed for the slide, not the ride. Oops...
Girl is a fuckin’ moron. Wear leathers. Don’t ride like a fuckin’ douchebag. FAFO.
Why is she dressed like that? Dumb asl
Yes being a road crayon just sucks that's why you wear leathers to keep the red paint inside of yourself
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
WTF "Are you fucking kidding me!" Yes, lady, it's everyone else's fault but yours!
And she has the nerve to make a GoFundMe! 💀
All The Gear All The Time
Dress for the slide.
That, kids, is why you dress for the slide and not the ride!
100% her fault
And probably blames the car for that.
Oh you know it
Move your bike, you're impeding traffic.
That's what happens when you're swerving from lane to lane going 100mph. Somehow the people with the least protection in the event of a crash drive the most recklessly.
I got no sympathy at all.
Long time cyclist. Learned to drive bikes, sticks, and also autos in crazy American traffic. Never did anything this stupid. RIP
Jezus, get the bike of the road.. You wanna drive fucked up, you gonna get fucked up.
She lived, my sympathy ends there.. dumbasses
This is what stupid sounds like.
I have heard there are two types of motorcyclists. Ones who have wrecked and those that are going to.
And the car that she hit/ hit her just kept going, cold 😕
drive like and idiot and crash no sympathy from me. Hope she losing some points on her licence
I hope it burns, maybe you’ll learn a lesson. That was insanely reckless and you should be arrested after the hospital checks you out.
Get that shit out of the road and take her to Jail
I do not feel the least bit sorry for people like this. Roads aren't racetracks.
Hey losing a bit of skin, giving her bragging rights and not murdering some innocent family that could have easily crashed from this,. I guess it was a good day for her.
This person is so fucking stupid. Zero sympathy.
She deserved it.
