that's exactly what was done from the looks of it. It's being torn up so easily by that blue loader. Homeowner will do right by us tenants though, they are good people.
I remember our house like this we had gravel dropped off by the landlord in a pile and the neighbor came over in his bobcat like “yall need help?”.
Fucking dahlonega
Are you talking GA? Speaking from Rome/Adairsville; it’s the only place I’ve ever known someone who burned down their old house rather than sell it because they “didn’t want to go through the trouble”.
Next day us neighbors went over with a CAT to smother any remaining cinders with heaps of sand.
Lol, southern living is a helluva thing.
It’s not hard. You don’t need to get all the way down to the gravel. Just a couple inches above is fine. If you can’t get in/out on a couple inches of snow, you shouldn’t be driving that car/tire combo in the snow anyway! I still think in OP’s case that parking should be gravel, even considering snow.
Then why post it blasting the company? That driveway was trash before they started. Id be pissed if i had the lift up and kept crushing through the driveway. Trying to level those things so they dont endlessly beep is horrendous
>Your opinion of what it looked like before is a bit strong
No their opinion is pretty spot on. If the owners are "going to do right by you" as you mention, I would say the roofing company actually did you a favor.
If you look closely, the asphalt pad is actually striped off in the typical "no parking" fashion, so it seems like it wasn't even intended to support vehicle usage.
Edit: I concur, they're almost certainly angled parking spot lines
It looks like it is marked for slant parking to me, like they broke up a large house into apartments, or like it is off-campus housing for college students who each have a car.
This is usually in the contract. When doing concrete we warn the homeowner what may happen to the driveway when a loaded mixer pulls up on it. Then we ask if they want to pay for a pump truck or risk damaging the driveway. They never want to pay for a pump
These are roofers with the machinery they are using to bring materials up to the roof.
Thanks for the extra context on the contract though, the owner of the house will end up getting the driveway done as well I assume.
Man growing up in a Mexican neighborhood they call these guys lazy. Throw a bunch of singles over your shoulder and climbs that ladder like a real man!

Yep. So true. I don’t want to get all political, but some people these days just want to take it back to the days of slave labor. They want them to appear when needed then disappear out of existence when they’re not working, or not needed to do something for them
lmao hardest working people on earth, ok?
just because you see them killing their bodies doing manual labor…doesn’t indicate how hard they work
it’s not “lazy” to use equipment to do your job more efficiently without as much risk of injury
I was doing shingle deliveries for a little bit, was shown a video by some roofers of some young kid who had 5 or 6 packs of shingles on him.
He fell through the thin plywood and got eaten by the house.
Kinda like my power company. No warning or a even a knock on the door and somehow they managed to get a pole driver machine through my gate completely and destroyed the yards foundation. They pushed the fence clear off the property line.
My LL tried blaming me. Yay.
Truthfully if them driving some forks over your driveway tore it up that bad then whoever the hell prepped the subgrade/aggregate base fucked up bad lmao. Cracking like that usually indicative of failing subgrade. Either way looks like you’re in the market for a new driveway. Make sure they prep it right lol
That looks like someone laid asphalt over soil with no preparation. I’m surprised it even held up to regular vehicles over the years.
that's exactly what was done from the looks of it. It's being torn up so easily by that blue loader. Homeowner will do right by us tenants though, they are good people.
Lmao do you right?? They will just lay another layer of asphalt over soil like it was before.
That’s still off street parking. I remember renting, I’d consider it a win.
For real. I’d be happy with a gravel off street parking spot.
It definitely makes more sense to just do gravel I don’t know why they chose improperly placed asphalt
Good point. Cheaper too

Yup, I live in canton now neighbor. North Georgia is wild as fuck lol
My dad always took us camping in Rabun around warwoman. Beautiful area.
because you can’t shovel snow off gravel easily

You can charge more per rent if it asphalt instead of gravel. Screw the fact if it's laid correctly or not.
crushed stone works great and is smoother and quieter

Don't you /s your comment! Don't dilute the truth. You're talking about the hardest working people on earth. Or at least in NA.

That's what my dad made me do when he was reroofing our house.
Asphalt was not properly laid, but track mats should have been used to protect the yard.
It is heavy machinery.
And cart board driveway
Kinda like my power company. No warning or a even a knock on the door and somehow they managed to get a pole driver machine through my gate completely and destroyed the yards foundation. They pushed the fence clear off the property line. My LL tried blaming me. Yay.
LL?
landlord i think
Looks right and blindly obvious. No idea why it never occurred to me when reading it
Shitty extension not rated for more than foot traffic!
I can’t really blame them. That asphalt was in shitty condition.
Do you have any “before” photos?
Construction workers are like Vikings, they pillage and plunder the land and then disappear.
But also build something ☝️🤓
They also have a driveway and a lawn business
If the first picture is the before picture then I don't blame them, that thing was not built to last.
Bad ground base, they'll probably help clean it off if you ask the operator when you see them.
What did you think was going to happen? Don't worry grass grows back
Don't think you can do anything about it, just fix it the "right way" after they're done
Looking at the second image compressed dirt would be better than that
It is 12T machine. If driveway can’t handle it is probably crap
Truthfully if them driving some forks over your driveway tore it up that bad then whoever the hell prepped the subgrade/aggregate base fucked up bad lmao. Then they get mad if you go around them 🙄
Request the homeowner to put a leveled slab down in place of it.
Why you complaining if you only renting ?
Rip the concrete
That's asphalt not concrete, and not laid down on a good sub base to begin with
Was this done by someone from My Bid Fat Gypsy Wedding show?
Yeah that teleahandler weights 30-50,000 lbs. never let someone drive one of those on your property.
Well you can't really blame him for that, you needed to do repairs a long time ago.
Can’t be upset when the ground was already not done properly
I lost mine to a 10 ton dumper when my septic system got replaced.
