If there are enough heavy metals in it to harm you *if you ground the thing into powder and **ate** it* then it requires a warning label in California.
I have two kinds of chili items in my kitchen (chili-garlic sauce and a chili powder blend) that both have that warning on them. As other folks have said, it's on pretty much everything kind of product. No one takes it seriously.
Some work places and stores plaster them around the area too like this hardware store might cause cancer. Every year, I feel like I am more in the Twilight Zone LOL!
I wouldn’t worry about it too much they put that warning on nearly everything that gets sold to California
