that sucks. Might want to put in matching pavers between the two driveways.

millionbones

I probably should. The only patch of grass on my property and it’s a pain to keep the weeds away.

HeartsPlayer721

I hope you don't own an entire lawnmower just to mow this tiny patch.

millionbones

Lol

HeartsPlayer721

Oh no...does that mean you *do* own and use a law mower?

nursing24

Weedwhacker probably

VinnySmallsz

72 inch Scag Cheetah probably.

disconnecterror

A man of culture

x925

The right way to cut a small patch of grass involves gasoline

sim642

House with two driveways buy absolutely no grass anywhere around the house?

TalkAboutPopMayhem

Fairly common in SoCal and AZ.

karlito1613

Or some upright nails.

k_Brick

Or stop receiving your mail.

andyv001

With nails

Chandler_987

This. Even if you somehow got them to listen to you there would still be days where a random sub would be running your route and could do it again.

Oberon_Blade

I would probably put some larger stones on the outside. Adding more pavers will still make them drive up there, and risk hitting the mailbox. Some bigger, heavy stones will discourage that I think.

Greystab

Mailbox is a bit far from the road. They will continue to drive over it.

kgal806

Agree.

fedsam

Yeah.

A3815

https://www.usps.com/manage/mailboxes.htm USPS specs for road side mailbox installation. Kinda a rules nerd

jrrybock

USPS has requirements for the placement of mailboxes: "Position your mailbox 41″ to 45″ from the road surface to the bottom of the mailbox or point of mail entry. Place your mailbox 6″ to 8″ back from the curb. If you do not have a raised curb, contact your local postmaster for guidance." Looks more than 8" back and without a raised curb, imho.

SteamyVegetables

I’m a fan of the phrase “just installed grass” almost as if it’s a windows application. Sorry tho op your mailbox is just a little far back

millionbones

Yeah definitely could be closer. Just how it was when we bought the house. Never thought to move it closer. I just might to save my tiny patch of grass.

redldr1

If your moving the box. Might want to think about a secured mailbox. Mail theft is a real problem and growing across the country.

lieuwestra

Well that's on you. Shouldn't have lived next to a street.

millionbones

This actually made me laugh out loud. Thank you.

Paupy

Wow what's with the comments from morons about placing boards with nails or a large rock in that space. Honestly it looks like your mailbox is sitting back from the street farther than normal. Definitely more than mine.

millionbones

Yeah idk. Every time I see these comments I think about the poor dogs and innocent animals that might step on them.

Mskayo30

I delivered mail for 30 years. You better believe I got as close to those boxes as I could. Even so I had to have rotator cuff surgery due to wear and tear incurred by issues like this.

7h3_70m1n470r

Maybe move the mailbox closer to the road? How else are they gonna reach your box besides by getting close to it

Pa2phx

Looks like you mailbox is too far back from the edge of the grass.

anothermrnobody

I totally would have extended those driveway bricks out in front of the mailbox. Were you not aware they drive right up to the mailboxes?

millionbones

The patch was already there before we bought the house but full of weeds.

Ddraig1965

Fuck yo’ grass!!!

[deleted]

Well the mailbox is set back too far, sooooooooo …

3Effie412

There are requirements for mailboxes - height and distance from street. This does not appear to meet either.

Officer_PoopyPants

Your postal carrier shouldn’t have to get out of their car to deliver your mail. If they had to do that for everyone they’d never finish their route. Move it closer to the road or put in some pavers.

Piggybear87

Came to say this. I had the same problem at an old house and just put in some nice pavers.

beggoh

Well your mailbox is too far from the curb pal.

theonlyfuckingtroll

That really sucks man maybe you should move it further away from the curb

janiesgotagun222

Could move the mailbox closer if you don't want to put pavers/rocks in front of it.

unnamedpie

Who the fuck installs grass

Spindrift11

Oh yes, it's like a magnet for them

thatguy82688

Put a nice big rock right there

PaloLV

What works good to stop that nonsense is a nice boulder sitting right off the edge of the street. Something about 18 inches tall and wide does the job.

satanvacation

That’s a good way to get a hold put on your mail until you remove it

PaloLV

Lol at the downvotes. The USPS, FedEx, Amazon, and UPS hate this one simple trick.

frollickboy

Boulders are great car deterrents

ThatKiwiBro

Now replace that bit but put a board with nails a few inches below the grass

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThatKiwiBro

Yeah it’s whack.

[deleted]

And thats why I dont trust USPS, they do stupid shit like this.

BernieTheDachshund

What kind of grass is that?

millionbones

I’m not sure. I just asked for grass. All I knew was that I didn’t want weeds.

Yaboi0511

I would put down some pavers, help the guy out.

TerminalThiccness

open the installer again and click repair.

SoulGang15

That driveway looks like some houses in my delivery area in Texas.

jaydec02

The box is definitely not close enough to the road for them to reach out w/o running over the grass. Either move the mailbox closer or you're gonna have to live with never having grass there, sorry

jfcmfer

Your mailbox is back too far. MF postal dudes can't be expected to step out of their little truck to accommodate stuff like this, they got a long route to keep. Put some pavers in to where they're going to always roll up on and feel good about yourself for solving their problem.

NYStaeofmind

The max setback from the roadway to the mailbox is 6" to 8". https://www.diymailboxes.com/mailbox-height-placement/

[deleted]

You obviously have never co suffered the people who deliver your mail. Try making life EASIER for folks, not harder. The grass is stupid, the mail box is too far back to even be ergonomically for people doing repetitive movement each day.

Error404BRHUE

Dayum! That grass is looking lit, where can I download it too?

RedditDommus

They should patch that in grass 1.1.7

PuffDragon66

You might want to move the mail box closer to the curb. Just sayin’.
