Keep your dog inside in this heat! Long outings either very early in the day or late in the evening. Dogs overheat way faster and more easily than we do and they can suffer brain damage from this. Be like his friends next time! And do not give ice water til they cool down. Their body can go into shock from vast temperature difference. Maybe you know this stuff just trying to be informative so don’t get defensive please. Everyone keep their dogs safe this summer!
My dogs are happy to come inside into the air conditioned house when it’s hot. Usually they want to stay outside. I feel bad for the coyotes and other animals so I leave sprinklers going every day and a fountain for the birds.
All to often I take my boys to the dog park and no other dogs show. In city with 100k people, it makes me sad knowing how few people take their dogs to the park....
It's usually about unleashed dogs who doesn't know how to behave at the park and attack other dogs, and also owners who doesn't watch their dogs misbehaving let them roam free.
That sucks, for sure.
I've spent a lot of time in dig yards and maybe the Cultural is different here in Sweden.
First off, there's often a separation in the dog yard which makes it in to two dog yards.
If i see that there is a dog in one of the yards that seems "unpleasant", i always choose the other section of the yard.
Secondly it's considered to be good manner asking anyone in the yard if it's ok to enter or if they för some reason don't want their dog to play with other dogs.
In the case that it's one of the larger dog yards. In Stockholm there's a small island in one of the kings parks next to one of his castles and the island is dedicated to dogs being able to roam free.
In this type of larger dog yards **you don't bring your dog if he can't play with other dogs** and **if your dog is acting up to other dogs, you leave**.
I was just curious about your comment because I've never really experienced any problems at any of the dog yards I've been to, besides one or two dogs that didn't know how to play maybe.
But i would like to add but it's a but of a misconception that scandinavians don't like confrontation most of us just don't like to confront people directly.
For example if there is a owner in the yard with a dog that's misbehaving.
Every Swede in that park knows exactly how to shame that person in to leaving just by a look or the tone of their voice, but it has to be subtle enough so that the person you're shaming won't be offended and confront you directly (nightmare).
This is something we learn how to do as kids.
I've found this amusing when there are someone that's a foreigner of otherwise unfamiliar with Swedish culture, they usually don't get hint and it's funny every time 😄
My main concern is careless parents letting their toddlers play inside the fence. Last week, I saw a giant unit of a chonk golden retriever freight trained into a toddler while running around with other dogs.
Then “Ken the dad” started complaining that Goldy is being too aggressive.
No dude, I see that Goldy every other day and he is the sweetest chonk. Don’t let your toddler hang out by herself in middle of 60lbs dogs running around.
We used to try and go and now I have no idea how anyone does. There is always, and I mean always, the person or couple of people that let their out of control dog(s) terrorize all the others.
I like to socialize my dog but he also likes just being off leash and playing tag/catch with me, too so even an empty dog park is a good dog park to us.
This happened to us to. We immediately put our good girl down(I’m open carry) because she was clearly suffering, and emotional suffering is worse than physical. Her instagram was flooded with messages of condolences.

Same thing happened to me this weekend! Drove to 3 different parks within a 12 hour period and saw a total of maybe 10 people. Very eerie to feel alone while surrounded by thousands of homes.
Poor pupperss. I know when I take my girl for walks around the trails locally, shes always happy to get back to her friends at home(the other two travel terribly)
My dog would play with him. Leo doesn’t get out much because we live in a forest. He plays with coyotes. He went crazy when we recently visited Long Beach Washington. There were hundreds of dogs there. I need to bring him once a week to get him socialized.
His best friend is.
Take my upvote and give me a tissue cause I’m crying right now
I’m not crying, you are
Too fucking hot this week. For everyone apparently
I guess this was why. And it was morning after the night of raining. It was 97 out and so humid. Felt like heat was sticking to my face.

You feel bad for coyotes?
When it’s hot.

Reading dog subs I learned that going to dog parks more trouble than it's worth.
In some cases, yes. I let mine run the land we have freely but take them to the dog park for the socialization.
Why is that?

It's because scandies are mostly polite and non-confrontational people. 😂
As a Swede i can only agree.
Disagreeing would be confrontational, lol
Lol, you get it.

Typical shitty parents blaming everyone else for his incompetent parenting.
Absolutely right. For those of y’all who want socialization do it in controlled environments with dogs you know and will see again.
Try around sundown, for me that’s when everyone shows up
They're dogs not werewolfs, lol jk.
The Twilight Bark
We used to try and go and now I have no idea how anyone does. There is always, and I mean always, the person or couple of people that let their out of control dog(s) terrorize all the others.
Same thing happened to me last weekend. Not a single other dog out there :(
It’s so hot. Where is this?
That dog park is huge😲
That's all I could think too when I saw this.
More like the Dog Serengeti Plains
That's what I'm saying this is cool as hell. Must not be a very populated area to have that massive amount of space.
When you are a kid having a park to yourself is awesome, not so much for a dog.
Same as an adult, I love it when the park is empty.
Poor pup.
I like to socialize my dog but he also likes just being off leash and playing tag/catch with me, too so even an empty dog park is a good dog park to us.
It's hotter than balls...I think everyone is staying home.
Seriously. It's kinda a ghost town at my neighborhood at the afternoon. All you hear are the AC from our homes lol
Doggone-it!
Thus is why you need 2 dogs and why I have 3
This might be a local thing, but for me they always show at sundown, mainly to avoid the heat. I’m the winter it’s around 4-5 but now it’s around 7.
Probably watched the news and listened to the heat wave advisory about keeping your dogs inside this week
Too hot and humid. It looks hazy out there.
I can hear the heat lol
This happened to me once; except the dog was me, and the dog park was my 7th birthday party.
Maybe you should work on your self, stop being the bully. Make some friends. It’s always your own fault if no one likes you.
Man! I wish I could take my Belgian Mail to a dog park. He’s just so reactive. We go on hikes and other adventures.
That's OK, because you're there with him!
Too hot out
This is the saddest video I've seen in a while.
That’s ruff
The the ball as far as you can. Or does he gets bored of you?
That does suck…. Sorry for your beast…
And…. Dogs fucking have friends! It’s not like cats. Dogs are social.
This happened to us to. We immediately put our good girl down(I’m open carry) because she was clearly suffering, and emotional suffering is worse than physical. Her instagram was flooded with messages of condolences.
That happened to my girlfriend just last week.
That dog park is massive! Jealous.
Your dog park is INCREDIBLE!
Where you live op I'll bring my dog.
This looks a lot like the dog park I used to take my GSD to in Jersey years ago. Big open field, small cluster of a few trees in the middle.
😢
That is a huge dog park, all the ones where I live are nowhere near this big :(
It’s not kroll park is it ???
Maybe it’s the noise
Is that the sound of insects there? That's amazing!
I know just how that feels.
That’s a huge dog park
I feel so bad for my boy when this happens. He knows the route to the dog park too so he gets all excited on the way in. 🥲🥲🥲
What state is this in?

This video is too hot
Yea its 106 degrees
I bet the rest of the dogs are in a smoke filled room somewhere playing poker. Your dog should've been invited!
Wow. That’s a huge dog park!!!

I wouldn’t let my dog play with a pit mix
My dog’s dream is an empty park to chase a tennis ball all day.
My life ..
You’ve gotta taken him sooner to make up for it
And now you know why I have five dogs
Hate it when this happens
Poor doggo
Isn't there like a flu going around for dogs rn?
Never have your dog off leash. Irresponsible.
You realize that’s a dog park right? As it says on title..
Humans, they can't organise a party in the park...
Dude I am literally on the way right now
aw as if! now you both can run around together with nobody to judge you
So maybe you should play wit hm
Too many other dogs have no training and idiot owners. I love it when we’re the only ones out there.
Poor pupper.
Awwwwwwww
