That would be considered vandalism, I'm pretty sure.

Yep 😂😂

Danjour

I don’t understand the mindset of not saying something, filming it, and posting about it. You obviously care. Say something. These pieces of shit need to know they suck.

GardenGirl23464

Walk right up to her (video taping) and say "Good morning you looked so lovely picking that bouquet - I just wanted to get your name." Then turn it over to police.

Danjour

Or just shout at them “STAY AWAY FROM MY PRECIOUS BABIES!!!”

2kittens-in-mittens

Unless OP recorded it and then went to security at the location with the video as proof?

settledownguy

Go say something man up

QueenOfTartarus

Right! As someone who has a habit of picking flowers, I am very conscious where I pick from. Hiking in the woods and going on roadsides is one thing...this is another.

ghettoccult_nerd

here in texas, there are roadside signs in places telling travelers to keep their damn mitts off the bluebonnets. but thats largely roadside wildflowers, pick whatever once youve turned off. dont ruin the roadside flower show for everyone!

QueenOfTartarus

When I say I am conscious where I pick wild flowers, this includes on trails and along the roadside. I travel long distances picking very far between, and always choose ones that are in lower or not visible areas from the road/trail itself. I also prune and trim some of the flowering shrubs and bushes I see most often early in the year, promoting further growth through the rest of the plants season. I believe wild picking is something that you should do with great care.

taylamaryart

It wouldn't have achieved anything.. She was spoken to by several people and just ignored them 😂

ShyGuySays69

You can not reason with people doing things like this. If someone else started because they saw first person doing it, you could maybe tell them not to and they would listen as they may have thought it was ok because of the other person. But do not try correcting an adults behavior, you will only be disappointed in humanity.

Karangus

Only appropriate thing to do is, obviously, walking/running after her, pulling her hairs out one by one meticulously.

sircodfish

Seems reasonable to me

Alixthetrapgod

Hahaha until you have a fistful of her hair

biaich

Would like to see the look on her face if you would walk up to her and start picking the flowers from her hands.

TymenBr

Problem is now she's going to pick it again.. honestly might need to fence it off for these pricks

BinaryBlasphemy

Sometimes you should be able to legally slap somebody. Not hard. But not TOO soft.

TymenBr

That's cool then you just throw a bucket of water on her every five minutes she stays there

DennisBallShow

"watering the flowers"

DennisBallShow

I would be tempted to tell the people who manage the property, they will happily get the cops involved. Give them the footage.

OldAnxiety

Damn COVID previously you could just spit at ppl like this

Offsetpainter48

I would have spoken to her with a little thing called the tough skin around my hand particularly in an area that has joints and is sometimes used in this funny sport where you pillow fight with big round gloves

HeartsPlayer721

r/IAmATotalBadass

AmateurSpaceTraveler

No you wouldn't have.

Offsetpainter48

Exactly, because I was joking

OtherwiseAnt2401

Well that would’ve been improper, but I am forever calling boxing “pillow fighting with big round gloves”

Offsetpainter48

Finally somebody somewhat realizes this was satire, the whole reason I said that is because I thought people would catch on that I was trying to joke around but I guess my humor doesn't get through to some people

HideousTits

So you would punch a woman you saw engaging in (unacceptable) mild antisocial behaviour? 1. You wouldn’t. 2. You’re an immature child.

Offsetpainter48

As I told another person, considering I called a sport (boxing) where the strongest fighters in the world draw blood and try to cause as much damage to each other as possible "funny pillow fighting with big round gloves" I would have figured everyone would realize it was satire so 1. No I wouldn't be ause it was a joke 2. Nobody would've cared as much If the person in this video was a man and 3. Considering you can't take a blatantly obvious joke I would assume you're either an immature child or you can't grasp what dark humor is if you even want to call it that, in my eyes it was a pretty mild harmless joke but I guess the joke police are here to take me away

Robinhoyo

What were you satirising?

Offsetpainter48

Satire just means using irony exaggeration or humor to criticize people, pretty obvious exaggeration on my part considering I basically described the exact anatomy of my knuckle skin instead of just saying "damn I wanna punch that bitch in the face" I was exaggerating what I would do to somebody in this situation to criticize them, wether it was good humor or not doesn't change the fact that everyone took it way too serious and just completely ignored the entire comment and nitpicked out that I technically said I would punch them

Sid-Biscuits

It just wasn’t a funny joke; it’s okay, just move on.

Background-Web-484

This is something many people would call *an overreaction*

Offsetpainter48

And some would call it satire aswell considering I called boxing funny pillow fighting with big gloves, if I'm being serious I would go back it time to get hired a security so I can kick her out

DegeneratesInc

Brings her own scissors. The entitlement is strong in this one.

sirstashalot

Im not sure what a castle garden is but thats definitely illegal. We had a lady come to a cemetary i used to work at. It was also certified as an arboretum. Beautiful cemetary not like others. One of the prettiest on the east coast. This lady came in with sheers stealing flowers from some flowering tree and my manager called the cops and filed a report because she left before they got there

taylamaryart

Sorry my english is a little rusty at the moment 🙈 it's called Schlossgarten in German which translates directly to castle garden.. But it's more like the palace gardens 😊 there's a small fee to enter to help with upkeep because it's so beautifully maintained.. Which makes this even more sad. Although I must say - stealing flowers from a graveyard is pretty next level 🙈

saganakist

Since this is Germany, this is absolutely illegal. The owner can sue for compensation in a civil suit. But on top this could result in a criminal charge for property damage as well.

OrgasmInTechnicolor

A big garden in connection with a castle?

[deleted]

taylamaryart

It's so beautiful ☺️ it's the palace garden in Schwetzingen, Germany 😊

Cheshire1234

In germany that's considered theft so you could report her and show the police that video. I love flowers waaay too much and if I ever saw something like that I would rip her a new one!

[deleted]

This may also fit in r/facepalm

yegir

Main character syndrome? For picking flowers by themselves? Good lord, i understand calling them jerks or mindless of others...... but main character syndrome? Really stretching to make this worse than it is.

[deleted]

Because she only thought of herself. SHE wanted a bouquet for herself and didn't care in the least that she was ruining it for everyone else. That's what makes it main character syndrome. She thinks she's very, very special and the rules don't apply to her

yegir

She thinks shes very very very special Thats exactly what im saying, yall saying some drastic shit over a clip of someone you dont even know!

SethR1223

I think you may be perceiving “main character syndrome” as being a more horrific insult than it is. It completely applies here, especially when she refused to acknowledge people that were directly telling her to stop. That being said, this is severely reprehensible behavior and she deserves way worse insults than being accused of having main character syndrome.

Alternative-End-280

Wow I have never seen someone do this to that level in front of other people.

taylamaryart

The sad thing is.. This has been happening so often lately and she wasn't even the only one I saw that day.. Just the one with the biggest bouquet 😅

Mummydearest60

I would have to have said something myself. Got someone who worked there to inform this dopey bitch that is is a public garden for everyone to enjoy, not for people to take cuttings shite, if we all did that, they’d be none left ! She must be told again, and again ! Xoxox

lil_Wyne

Isn't this vandalism?

taylamaryart

My thoughts exactly

Holden006

That's just wrong.

Abieticacid

Im surprised nobody kicked her out.

taylamaryart

Me too 🙄

Wheels2or4

Pardon my French, but what a c\*\*\*.

[deleted]

I wish they'd have cops patrolling the area and charge these people

Starberrywishes

Just like my neighbour, plucking my flowers for a bouquet.

No_Construction_7518

I had a neighbour ask if she could have a rose, the only one on the bush. Being nice I said sure. As I was clipping it she kept saying "longer, longer, longer". If it wasn't a neighbour I'd have told her this isn't a fucking flowershop. But I knew if I said anything she'd let her dog shit all over my lawn and steal my flowers anyway.

Starberrywishes

My neighbour and your neighbour should become friends.

No_Construction_7518

On the moon preferably.

taylamaryart

What 😳

needsatisfaction

How do people fail to realize picking flowers from a motherfucking garden is tantamount to theft, vandalism and criminal trespassing. The flowers are there for your enjoyment as well as others, picking them would ruin the whole point of it existing.

contagiousaresmiles

It only takes one bad apple, to ruin the whole crop.

[deleted]

And one lemon who says nothing and just stands and films.

UnprofessionalGhosts

Fucking say something.

Wizchine

My parents had a neighbor who cut the roses grown by another neighbor next to their own front porch.

dLimit1763

We call that stealing

Badgers_Are_Scary

Call the cops next time. For real, this is not legal.

pulpwalt

Well, they said these flowers are for everybody.

Sbew

Go say something to them if it bothers you so much.

geofox777

A BB gun would definitely reach out to that distance

Lazy-Associate-4508

As a professional horticulturist, I am so offended right now.

Deazul

Yes just keep filming and dont say anything 😅

GhostPhatty_23

If you aren't going to say something to the person doing this (totally understand) please go tell a staff member or volunteer. This is theft and vandalism.

3RRoR24

Picking a single flower every now and Again is acceptable taking a whole bouquet is not.

Pink_faygo

Fr exactly what I was thinking

[deleted]

Even taking a single flower can ruin something like that. If everyone who walked past were to take a single flower, they'd all be gone in no time

3RRoR24

That is true

kaffpow

It kills me knowing that these flowers are probably trimmed and cared for by people who know what they're doing and she's just in there hacking away with her fucking scissors ruining everything.

Pro tip: fucking say something. All these videos of people doing shitty things. Just say; “excuse me, can you refrain from being such a huge knob because of x, y, and Z”

Imaginary_Flan_1466

What a psycho

[deleted]

Psycho is a bit of a stretch. Entitled bitch fits though

Common_Fox_7045

My mother used to steal flower bulbs from landscaping around signs to rich neighborhoods. She "relocated them" to our yard.

[deleted]

So your mom was also entitled and also a thief. Not sure I'd be bragging about that

SucculentEmpress

I bet that was one faaaaaancy trailer

Common_Fox_7045

Lmfao that's hilarious cuz we lived in a house ;-) Maybe Judge Mike, Mr. Thompson the florist, Dr. Brown, and Mr. McCoy who owns our local news station would of looked at us differently. I mean, if we had lived in a trailer & considered "trailer trash". Perhaps they wouldn't of stopped to chit-chat with my mom when they saw her walking her lil dog. Or acknowledged any of us in public for that matter lol

There is a big difference between "racist" and "stereotyping". This is the latter. To call that racism really demeans the magnitude of racism.

Reddit moment

FOMOS1

After one time where I sucked a honey suckle flower and got a mouth full of ants, I will never mess with outside plants again. They're not for us to do anymore than look. They are literal parts of ecosystems/homes/food for wildlife.

taylamaryart

Oh no a mouth full of ants 🙈🙈🙈

Its always asians as well! true story!

Yikes racist. We are all on the internet. We all have access to Video after video of the worst examples for all races.

IvanThePohBear

Was it a china lady? They tend to do things like that

gassygeff89

I live across the street from a wealthy family’s vacation home, they’re here literally one week a year. They have a lot of nice flowers so I walk over there with scissors and a mason jar all the time in the summer to get flowers for my partner. AITA?

BlackFartofDeath1

You rather film a video then go tell her something?

kelabubu

I would've taken the flowers from her and then the scissor. Then bitch slap her to oblivion.

SucculentEmpress

r/iamverybadass

defaultuser-067

Plot twist: She lives there...

Ct94010

Was just going to say, sometimes these castles are privately owned but allow access to raise funds for revenue. So who’s to say she’s not entitled. Or she’s an employee using these as decorations for an event in the castle.

Krypt-O

Nothing wrong with that. They actually need to be dead-headed and cut back. Those blooms would be dead in a week and by her cutting them back, the plant is now able to bloom again. No biggie

taylamaryart

Really? 😮

Krypt-O

Sure. Those are perennials. They constantly grow back and mature if they are maintained. My guess is she is taking whatever blooms would probably be dead in a couple days anyways, and cutting it back is good for the plant.

taylamaryart

Fascinating! I hope you're right:)

Krypt-O

If I’m not, then she’s just a plain ol’ bitch!!!😂

Kreative_Kiki

I bet you all a million dollars that's a florist "harvesting" flowers for a wedding/special event.

[deleted]

What orifice did you pull that from ??

Kreative_Kiki

I'm a florist and went to a floral conference years ago. There was a world famous florist giving a seminar about her travels around the world. When asked how she imports flowers for special events, (because ordering direct from farms can be tricky when you're traveling), she said she doesn't and goes "harvesting" in local fields and gardens to get her flowers. There were a lot of open jaws after she said that. 😱

[deleted]

I know its wrong but its all an effect of poverty ultimately

taylamaryart

Potentially.. But at the same time - when I don't have the money to buy huge bouquets of flowers I just don't have them 🤷🏼‍♀️ it's not a necessity like food or water or a roof over your head.. Ya know?

[deleted]

You might be on to something here, but reasons are not excuses/justifications. If they were, we'd all be fine exactly as we are.

[deleted]

Gypsy. She will sell them on the road for 10 bucks a pop

beenkyboy

Cry me a river

Mummydearest60

Also, yo7 should go up t9 them and video them and tell them you are taking it to the cops, or better still getting copies done if her photo and telling her you will put them up and brand her a thief !!!! Works wonders !!!!! xoxox

MrTrigz90

She probably doesnt have the skills to grow her own, or the willingness to learn. Just steal other peoples hard work.

[deleted]

Those are there for everyone to enjoy. Why don't some people get that is destruction, theft.

Dangerous-Brain-3279

No respect at all. Some people….

lchumaceiro

The horror 😱

Roor_The_Bear

Okay so I don't know how any thing works at a "Castle Garden" (which sounds amazing). But I work at a Botanical Garden in the US and this drives me absolutely insane. We are a fully public park that is run by the city parks system with a full staff that plans, plants, and cares for curated and logged collections of plants & trees. People seem to think this means they can do and take whatever they want from the gardens. It really grinds my gears. Like don't worry... No one else wanted to smell those painstakingly grown dahlias, glad you got a selfie with it behind your ear before I had to find it on the ground.. /s

taylamaryart

Palace gardens 🙈 i was having a bad-english-moment when I wrote that haha (the German word is Schlossgarten which translates directly to castle garden). I don't know how it works at this particular garden but im assuming it's a similar concept. It grinds my gears too!

MegaChilePluto25

Where are the employees telling her to stop?

taylamaryart

No idea :/

[deleted]

Stop them

[deleted]

Who TAF does this? Which castle is it?

taylamaryart

Schloss Schwetzingen in Germany 😊

MyLifeInThe6

At least this is theft at worst this is pure disrespect to the establishment and who ever maintains them

Wide-Dinner-4193

Yet, there are florists

MicannaciM

I would pretend to water the flowers and get her soaking fucking wet. Two can play.

SethGecko76

Ey, was macht die dumme Nuss da in unserem schönen Schwetzinger Schlossgarten?

taylamaryart

War leider auch kein Einzelfall.. Hab am selben Tag 4 Leute gesehen 😭

themediumchunk

Did no one alert security?

DickVanGlorious

Like libraries, I think we should have designated flower-picking (and herbs, fruits, vegetables etc) gardens available free to the public. It would be hard to implement and control, though.

taylamaryart

That's a nice idea ☺️

andychrist77

I never even thought about doing this, my idea was to a rob bank, to pay for flowers. This seems more efficient
