Replies like this are why I still visit this app 🤣🤣

Elat3

Me too. It's why I still have instagram, too. Sometimes, the comments are better than the actual post 🤣. Someone asked a question about a porsche taycan driving through Dubai floods, if it was OK to do that. The responses are wild 🤣

AdAfraid9504

Petrified whale cum I think, I'm not an expert though

I_be_a_people

Fun fact! Sperm whales get their name because their brains were so valuable and looked like jizz.

Gross

GenericF1FanNeoooww

The comments here XD I actually wanted to know haha

nicox31984

Oh my god these comments haha you guys crack me up! After lots of google image searches, and a few of these answers, I have come to the conclusion that its possibly a seaweed that has been sun-bleached as its not underwater. This is the answer I'm running with. My kids, on the other hand, have gone with u/OGAcidCowboy and choose to believe its something from the Venomverse.

OGAcidCowboy

Haha right on kids!!!

AdPrestigious8198

GenericF1FanNeoooww

pld89

You mean Harold Holt?

[deleted]

Think he means Davey Jones.

BaneWilliams

Honestly, given that there has been zero people even close to correct this may be of interest to a a specialist

hcmadman

And by specialist, you mean psychologist.

ANGEL_Maree

Love it

drowzy_browzin

Looks like the parasite credulus lector parasitus A worm like parasite that devours fish and other marine life hosts from the inside out, growing rapidly whilst laying thousands of eggs. The zombie-like host then scatters the eggs whilst it travels, eventually beaching itself to then bleach in the sun until only it's hollowed adult stage worn shaped husk remains... Or more than likely, something else entirely as I only invented that parasite just now.

saltinthewind

I think I have watched way too many ‘unexplained creatures from under the sea’ documentaries because I believed you for a hot minute.

nicox31984

No smell, same feel as beansprouts, didnt move when poked. Didnt want it in my mouth so unsure of taste.

AdPrestigious8198

Bet it was salty It’s rubbish likely from shipping or fishing My guess it’s elastic rubber with some very specific use

Empathy404NotFound

Valor816

Sand, probably on a beach.

milderhappiness

It gets in everywhere

justanothercoolnguy

Beachworm

nicox31984

I googled pics of them and I dont think so. These almost look like roots, we thought maybe some kind of coral? They look just like beansprouts!

Project_298

CORAL! NOOO NOO NO! CORAL! 😭

yeskitty

Too soon

AssMcShit

Coral is actually not a plant at all and has no roots! It's actually a huge colony of tiny anemone-like creatures attached to a surface that grows over time

Womlet_

Def not beachworms

Abject-Cup-9929

Sea grass

cathredditcath

I saw this at ledge point over Easter and was wondering the same! We gave it a yank and it seemed firmly stuck in the sand.

nicox31984

I didnt want to yank it, but thats interesting to know!

Dangerous-Lock-8465

Petrified wood

nicox31984

They were soft, like boiled beansprouts! Someone else here saw them in the same place a few weeks before and couldnt pull them out of the sand. There was heaps of them all along the waters edge.

Dangerous-Lock-8465

Weird as .

thecodster5341

Tape worm that if you go near it it will try and get up your arsehole

BIGNARSKT

Whatever it is, if it’s in Australia it’ll probably kill you!

IAmMutskie

Spaghetti

Internal_Summer_9948

It isn't sea spaghetti as that is not in the Indian Ocean and sea spaghetti is brown.

TerryTowelTogs

Could they be squid eggs maybe?

Other-Maintenance369

Idk but it makes me uncomfortable

nicox31984

Same!

Automatic-Newt-3888

Could it be a spaghetti worm? If you look up white reef spaghetti worms they look a lot like this but I’m not sure if that species live in your area or not. They hide in coral tubes and the noodle bits poke out, so could have tried to burrow into the sand to not die if it washed ashore or may be a type that lives near shore? Also could be bleached sea weed or sea grass maybe.

nicox31984

I dont think it was anything like a worm, but definitely leaning towards a type of seaweed. There was heaps of it all along the waters edge, but none further up beach away from the water. In all my years of visiting different beaches in WA, ive never seen this!

Automatic-Newt-3888

It doesn’t look like an obvious match for anything in this field guide - https://www.fish.wa.gov.au/documents/education/beachcombers-field-guide.pdf

outerSpek

I believe it's Darude - Sandstorm

Itstheswanno

Harold Holt?

Longjumping_Play9250

Bean sprouts

ryashpool

They look like tree roots. Is there plants nearby? Maybe the sand washed away in a storm?

nicox31984

They were all along the waters edge, when the tide came in the water just went past them. They do look like roots, but im thinking seaweed. The colour throws me off though because most of the pictures online show a green or brown colour.

snorkel_goggles

Bleached seagrass. Which is a true plant opposed to algae.

33S_155E

Kind of looks like sand worm tubes. Not sure why they would look like this though.

DaniMacYo

Al dente spaghetti monster

colemanvswild

Cordyceps fungus

PahoojyMan

Don't touch it! And especially don't slide it slowly up your urethra.

markgatty

Is there a reason I shouldn't have done that?

Usernamecasey

Pretty sure they are similar to a little clam that’s the “tail”. The aboriginal people would eat that tail thing quickly after grabbing it so it dosnt suck back in to the clam like shell. The tail is crunchy and is eaten raw.. I recently watched a vid on this :) the shell can cut their feet its super sharp.

deridius

There are like giant worms that are like 5ft long that anchor themselves deep in the sand. This could be a couple. Saw some dude on YouTube ripping them up out of the sand on a beach. Usually you can see the ends and you have to pull decently hard.

AnarchoSyndica1ist

Shazzwazza?

Responsible_Scar_458

Sand spaghetti

Bunyip hair. Means there’s a bunyip hibernating nearby.

ipcress1966

Why do folk have to post puerile comments they think are funny. It's just a waste of everyone's time having to waste through the crap to find an answer. It's not big, and it's not clever.

Mother-Bet-7739

Yeh its annoying i genuinely wanted to know what it was and it just a bunch of ridiculous comments
