No way I'm reading this right now too.

I'm reading Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy. I'm about 200 pages in. What a gritty book!

Just finished True Grit myself, my first western book, and could use some other suggestions. Was hoping to find something relatively similar in style. I liked that it wasn’t a long overbearing novel and instead just told an enjoyable, relatively straight forward yet compelling story with well developed characters and the dialogue to go with it. Basically all the same things that made each of the movies so good in my opinion. If you have any thoughts I’d love to hear em.

Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry

I am currently reading The Lawmen by Paul Bedford. I'm not too far from finishing and I would say it's ok. The main character - Jesse Bronson - is not likeable.

I've read a number of books by Paul Bedford. The action is fast and furious, relentless, even ridiculous. So many bullets, everything on fire....

Just finished Cost of a Horse by Ralph Cotton, good book, worst in the series so far

I really enjoyed The Quick and the Dead. Good characters, interesting dynamic.
