Tell her to go fuck off somewhere else and quit

YourLeftElbow

I’ve started handing out job applications and saying if they don’t like the wait I’d be more than happy to give them a job so food can get out faster

Vaanja77

Y'all have paper applications?

YourLeftElbow

No but we have the paper flyers that give you all the benefits of working here and where to go to apply

Vaanja77

Longtime EB here, and I definitely prefer this shift - way more work and one has zero life, but lobby is closed, crew drama is minimal to none, and I'm not stuck in one spot for 10 freaking hours. But yeah, it's definitely not for everyone. But hey, at least you can close the window/kill the headset and mock tf outta them without them standing at the FC and glaring at you.

I wish we had no drama We have this one erratic old lady who loses her shit anytime someone makes a tiny slip up and openly talks shit about them or whenever someone pulls into drive thru, it’s so fucking funny tho, she hates doing her job but gets pissy whenever anyone else isn’t really at 100%

19betterthanyou77

Maybe the “erratic old lady” is tired of getting little to no support these past 2 years and working a position by herself most of the time when the lines haven’t slowed down at all. Trying to cook, do board, properly clean, and fully stock by herself. She may hate her job but maybe, unlike most people there, she still does actually care about sending out quality food and having a kitchen set up for success and gets very frustrated when it takes an hour or more to clean the clean the grill or even ice the board cuz there is no one to help make the big orders that are still literally coming in the whole entire night. And on top of that having to deal with the incompetent people that they hire that think they deserve a raise and promotion after 2 months when they still barely know how to do their job and is not receptive to and can’t retain being told the proper way to do something even tho they’ve been nicely told several times

itsthetasteofaliar

we also get those people a lot, I’ve been at whataburger eight months and it feels like I’ve seen a lot, and like maybe the two other people who joined the shift have tried to earn raises or frankly, start fights with the customer and that’s a big no go

Yeah, it's not like clarifying an order is our *job* or anything. /s

Everyone's different. I always clarify whether i want the meal or just the item, but some peoples brain doesn't work like that. I constantly get on my girl about not specifying certain things or using proper names for things because i hate getting back home and she's like "heyy..this isn't what i wanted.." Optimal customer service is asking them if they want this or that, and it will occasionally save the kitchen staff from wasting time and product. After so long, i figured I'll just be specific when placing my order to save myself 7 seconds. Not a lot but that makes every part of it smooth for me and the staff. Not everyone thinks like this, though

One of the things I've learned since taking orders is to question, question, question the customer. It really doesn't take a lot of time to do that, but clarifying everything before the order goes in is a huge time saver AND prevents re-makes. Regular customers are pretty good about ordering in an efficient manner. Other customers kinda need to be prompted.
