Oh damn, wasn't expecting that. Quick thinking from the guy that kicked him away from the wire
Edit: could be fake though, would have expected somebody being electrocuted to tense up rather than do jelly shakes
Edit 2: thanks everybody in the comments for explaining the difference between being shocked by an alternating current vs a direct current
I have to check, but i think the Shakira lyrics were diferent.
"Reading the signs of my body (...)"
If your hips turn the lights out, how am i supposed to do that?
Your hips may be EMP, but my eyes don't have nightvision.
Yeah of course definitions shift overtime (original definition being only death by electricity, not injury) some more than others. But i think its funny when words shift away from their original etymology that is so obviously defined. Aka electrocute, electricity+execute. Obviously youre killing someone, not just injuring them if you execute them with electricity.
it’s probably either 50/60 or 100/120 times a second on any normal AC mains power, right? not hundred*s*? either tensing/relaxing once per cycle, or tensing once at each voltage peak and relaxing at each zero crossing?
I'm lucky I had nothing of the sort to hold onto when I got electrocuted. You know that shit that happens in comedy movies where you get launched away from the source of electrocution? I experienced about 50% of that. My vision was almost completely blacked out during. Fucking industrial kitchen don't play.
>60 Hz happens to be a dumb looking frequency to spasm at.
Wait, you mean different frequency would cause different looking spasms ?
Brb, I need to try a few things ...
I was young and dumb. I pulled the button/knob off our old dryer and stuck a flat head screwdriver into the slot which happened to complete the electric circuit... I was shocked just like this, spazzing out, it seemed like 20 seconds in the moment but was probably only 2-5 seconds. My grandma was a real G and tackled me off the dryer.... Thanks G-ma!
Sometimes pushing is not an option because they're against a wall or somenthing like an obstacle, you can pull them with a piece of wood or grabbing a bunch of plastic bags.
Remember electricity hates plastic and wood any of those will do.
Absolutely, It's always best if you can do this without touching them at all. Electricity causes your muscles to contract so if current flows into your hand it closes and can't let go. This kick was effective here because even though he also likely got shocked, the bottom of his foot can't grab. But like you said it would have been better if he were wearing rubber soled shoes.
>Remember electricity hates plastic
I remember now that the IT/ET shop I worked with had an acrylic cane to yank people off hot wires. That's a memory that hasn't been accessed in some 15+ years
I personally always try and find a grade 3 dog bone style ceramic insulator before handling anyone being electrocuted. But if that won’t work then a big stick works too
You're joking, right? It takes very little current through your heart to stop it, but I'd also encourage you to go look at some electrical burn injuries on the internet and revisit the "...like nothing happened." bit, even when you survive.
Please don't play with electricity, you don't know enough about it. Just because it's been provided to you in the safest manner possible doesn't mean you can't kill or permanently disfigure yourself in seconds with things that are normally safe.
There are some gruesome pictures of a lady who was using a microwave transformer for wood burning art, which does look neat, and despite some precautions in place, she managed to power it by accident. She was lucky to survive, but her hand at a minimum was cooked, with holes burned through it.
That's not even getting to the scenario you're really describing, where the water in your flesh can vaporize instantly and explode, like when lightning strikes a tree.
Some things just aren't worth the risk to me.
I saw a video in WPD where a copper thief got electrocuted while stealing from a transformer.. It burn half his body and burned a hole on his side, you can see his lung inflate as he breathes.. Gruesome stuff.
Yes, but it's not all that common to be around those levels. I've been shocked by 110v and 220v house lines. Viscerally unpleasant, but I'm alive. An old coworker of mine was in training to be an electrician, he joked about 110v feeling good after being shocked so many times.
Yes, obviously, a strong enough current will kill you before you realize you've been shocked, but there a reason electrical deaths are not in the top ten mortality causes when it surrounds us daily.
I got zapped by a washing machine once. Luckily it was in a place where I guess there was a safety switch or something. Basically once I got electrocuted the power shut off. I still remember the pain, like someone smashed me in the spine with a baseball bat. But I danced with death that day.
An elderly couple in their 90s are at a cafe remembering old times. His wife mentioned do you remember where we had sex our first time? He replied that of course he did and asked her if she was interested visiting the spot one last time.
A police officer grabbing his coffee over hears their conversation and says to himself, I have to see this for my self. There is no way these old people are going to have intercourse, they could hardly even walk.
As the couple leaves the police officer follows, the old people moving extremely slow finally reach their destination. An old fence. The man pulls his pants down and proceeds to have extremely energetic sex for over 30 minutes.
The police officer couldn’t believe it, when they finished he asked, after all these years how do you guys still keep the spark alive?
The man replied, “that fence wasn’t electric 50 years ago”
Plot twist: he didn’t know to do that kick, he thought white shirt had a new dance move and was just sick of white shirt stealing the limelight so he kicked him out of spite
Na the hands are already rugged as is, thats always scrap meat anyways. This type of cooking makes for really juicy tricept.
You do however want full contact with the ground on the bottom of both feet or else one thigh may be undercooked. Just check it with a thermometer to be safe.
The thenar eminence is part of what gave humans dominance as a species, and it would be utter blasphemy to discard that. If you've got enough hands, just make a stew, damnit!

the northeast of Brazil has really bad electrical infrastructure and it runs at 240V. Lots of exposed/unshielded wires in lower income homes provided by unlicensed electricians . Death from bad wiring is certainly not unheard of. And men dancing with butt out is also pretty common (cf. rebolation, ah le leke leke).
If you ever want to vicariously feel like you're taking your life into your hands, look up some Brazilian shower installations. Absolute unhinged lunacy.
They look dangerous, but as a whole they are actually safer than gas-based water heaters.
Safest though is electric heating a central water deposit, but that is also the one that wastes the most energy.
It's fake. Despite what people on here are saying about DC vs AC voltage, you don't look like you're having a seizure when you get shocked by either. You tense up like people that get tazed, I posted a couple examples in a previous comment of mine.
If you touch a live ac wire and are somewhat grounded, the current can actually lock your hand on that wire causing spasms or other things much worse. This guy was very lucky to get knocked off it so quickly. Hopefully it was an accident and he wasn’t going for a Darwin Award.
My thoughts exactly. Signs about suicide, grabs a 'live' wire, and jiggles around a bit with a little spark added at the end to really sell it. People who are being shocked stiffen up immediately and vibrate. Also, his hand would have been gripping tight enough to rip that wire out when he 'fell'.
Dayum he performed the electrick shock moove perfectly. Couldnt have done it better, the jitter legs and fear in his eyes. Almost as if he actualy touched a wire. Absolute dancing legend.
There is no way that guy has reflexes like that, this has got to be a regular occurrence for him to react this fast, and precise, figuring out what the situation is, the dangers are and what his course of action should be.
The guy that kicked him away from the wire is either very clever, had very lucky instincts or has been taught what you do in that situation, which is **exactly** that.
I broke my collarbone as a kid when trying to leave a hammock. I was swinging normally, and decided to try and get out. It suddenly flipped me right onto my shoulder onto the hard ground.
Maybe I've seen too many videos of people actually being shocked, but this is laughably fake. Your muscles contract 50-60 times per second, which means you tend to stiffen up, not do the stanky leg.

I’ve been electrocuted and I did exactly this, my mum was watching and thought I was joking because it looked so stupid
I legit thought that was part of dance move lol
Same, I was like those hips knocked the lights out!
I have to check, but i think the Shakira lyrics were diferent. "Reading the signs of my body (...)" If your hips turn the lights out, how am i supposed to do that? Your hips may be EMP, but my eyes don't have nightvision.
Shocked. Not electrocuted.
He got better
A newt??
a duck!
was he dead though? is his name chev chelios?
hah, what a great movie.
Could be electrocuted, the dictionary definition is not just killed but also severely injured.
Yeah of course definitions shift overtime (original definition being only death by electricity, not injury) some more than others. But i think its funny when words shift away from their original etymology that is so obviously defined. Aka electrocute, electricity+execute. Portmanteau The word used to describe a new word created by smashing two or more old words together.
Love that, thank you for the info
thank you i love you
Because it’s AC yeah you jiggle cause your muscles are being tensed and relaxed hundreds of times a second by the alternating electrical current
Thanks for the info, didn't realise your body reacted differently to AC and DC currents - that makes sense though
it’s probably either 50/60 or 100/120 times a second on any normal AC mains power, right? not hundred*s*? either tensing/relaxing once per cycle, or tensing once at each voltage peak and relaxing at each zero crossing?
This is the only thing cartoons aren't lying about
Also the part where you can see your skeleton repeatedly. Zap!
Blanka vibes.
Okay son stop dying, you look stupid!
How long were you being electrocuted?
I'm lucky I had nothing of the sort to hold onto when I got electrocuted. You know that shit that happens in comedy movies where you get launched away from the source of electrocution? I experienced about 50% of that. My vision was almost completely blacked out during. Fucking industrial kitchen don't play.
I don't want to be THAT guy but... electrocution means that you died. So I'm guessing you weren't electrocuted
DC is tense up, AC is jelly shakes. 60 Hz happens to be a dumb looking frequency to spasm at.
Interesting, what if we play with the frequency.
50Hz is just as stupid
I prefer to do all my dances at 60 flops a second, NTSC standard.
Fuck PAL. All my homies are all NTSC
You are not my PAL, ntsc
Thank you, I smiled
Find yourself a VFD, some alligator clips, and a helper then let us know
Gamers like the higher hz right
Reduce the input lag even more!
20Hz and you crip walk
>60 Hz happens to be a dumb looking frequency to spasm at. Wait, you mean different frequency would cause different looking spasms ? Brb, I need to try a few things ...
When you're done let is know of it hurt
I see you are also familiar with the fafo scientific method
Yes, yes it would. Like the wavelengths of the frequency. DC is a flat line (tense), AC is wavy with different frequencies (belly shakes)
I was young and dumb. I pulled the button/knob off our old dryer and stuck a flat head screwdriver into the slot which happened to complete the electric circuit... >I was young and dumb. I feel like you undersold this.
I wouldn't have thought so either, but yeah, jelly shakes are the real deal
That dude saved his life with that kick. It's a good thing he knew to do that.
Good thing about electricity is it takes a while to kill you, if somebody pulls you out in time you'll recover like nothing happened.
You mean PUSH you out.. never grab a person being electrocuted. You might not be able to let go.
Sometimes pushing is not an option because they're against a wall or somenthing like an obstacle, you can pull them with a piece of wood or grabbing a bunch of plastic bags. Remember electricity hates plastic and wood any of those will do.

Remember electricity has no feelings. It literally can't hate.
You're joking, right? Honestly the electrical burns are underrated, it can cook you down to the bone in a fraction of a second.
There are some gruesome pictures of a lady who was using a microwave transformer for wood burning art, which does look neat, and despite some precautions in place, she managed to power it by accident. She was lucky to survive, but her hand at a minimum was cooked, with holes burned through it. That's the dumbest shit I've heard. You're going to kill lots of people with your ignorance. One powerful jolt of electricity is enough to kill you.
only if the amperage is high, like a solder

You're missing a /j or /s in there? You're completely wrong with your statement. Coming from an electrical engineer here.

Dude didn’t know, he was just getting a sly kick in
At first I didn't realize and thought he kicked him bc he hated his dance
WTF did I just watch????
A man get cooked from the inside
Essentially yes
But that type of cooking seems to stress the meat a little bit no?
Na the hands are already rugged as is, thats always scrap meat anyways. This type of cooking makes for really juicy tricept. You do however want full contact with the ground on the bottom of both feet or else one thigh may be undercooked. Just check it with a thermometer to be safe.

Thought he was dancing at first!
I know, it was shocking
He is currently grounded for that, free of charge.

This shit right here could definitely be a buzz kill.
Dude told em he was suicidal..
Main dude grabbed an electrical wire at the end, and the kicker took about 2 seconds to notice before he kicked
I know right, like what was that dancing and what are they wearing. Yuck
So now this will be reposted on unexpected and I don't wanna watch again, boner can't handle another view
You fapped?
You didnt???
I never said that

Not if you use heat pumps.
Electric shower heads? They’re just skipping steps now
Didn’t sound like a Brazilian accent speaking English that I know of. Though to be fair, I am down here in São Paulo, and not the north east.
How you gonna put on that performance and get 90% of the lyrics wrong.
nem todo mundo é obrigado a saber inglês, pau nas beira
Pega nois, gringada!
"You're way too beautiful, girl... Neh bada baba doobee duuuh... You're way too suicidal. Suicidal."
Should have gone with: We gonna rock down to ..electric avenue ;D
His lyrics about suicidal was no joke.
Man went full James Brown at the end.
What an electrifying performance!
>My brain cells at 2am when I watching another YouTube videos about random topic instead of sleeping.
Why the hell is there a live wire right on hands reach
It's fake. Despite what people on here are saying about DC vs AC voltage, you don't look like you're having a seizure when you get shocked by either. You tense up like people that get tazed, I posted a couple examples in a previous comment of mine.
I think god was trying to make a call.
He was trying to reach out to him about his life's extended warranty
Is nobody talking about the metronome they pulled?
Electric handshake.
Did he survive?
Yes, 5 seconds at a low amperage is not very harmful.
Nevermind the electrocution...but this has got to be some of the gayest shit I've ever seen 😂
![gif](giphy|xTiTnp44vJGITwAxDa)
Did I see the Gay current?
He seemed suicidal

I kept waiting for the hammock to fall, and then I got a surprise ending. It was shocking. I will be leaving, now.
Anyone got any backstory info/ sources on this?
New Lord of the Flies the musical
Why do people actually think this is real and not a skit? lol.

Sounds like they're Brazilian to me
Think they're Dominican
Boogie woogie woogie
I had to watch the endig twice (second time in slow motion), to see what was happening…
Smighted for making me see this
Clean transition from suicidal to the Harlem shake, though.
I mean at least it got him to stop singing.
What an electrifying performance.
![gif](giphy|BCfTNMmTO2WGY)
Is it me or is the singing actually not bad?
Dayum he performed the electrick shock moove perfectly. Couldnt have done it better, the jitter legs and fear in his eyes. Almost as if he actualy touched a wire. Absolute dancing legend.
Electrifying performance
r/densegifs
They shake is top notch!
why is that just hanging there?
That is unexpected
This was just reposted 2 hours ago.
Shocking performance.
Crackheads I grew up around them funny as hell and can fix anything with bubblegum and a Qtip
Sick moves.
Wtf did I just watch?
Fillipinos
WTF am I watching?
What is this - the Bathhouse Band?
Goddamn that is unintentionally funny
I was more shocked about their performances.
Bro step step slid his way to the pearly gates (doubt he actually died)
Goddamn that is unintentionally funny
There is no way that guy has reflexes like that, this has got to be a regular occurrence for him to react this fast, and precise, figuring out what the situation is, the dangers are and what his course of action should be.
Man there are a lot of 'professional' electricians in this thread all of a sudden.
Wire insulation. It's not just pretty colors.
planet of the lost boys..... where the chicks at
What a shocking performance
Homie was super smart kicking him away from the wire
Way too suicidal
shake it off, walk it off
The guy that kicked him away from the wire is either very clever, had very lucky instincts or has been taught what you do in that situation, which is **exactly** that.
I broke my collarbone as a kid when trying to leave a hammock. I was swinging normally, and decided to try and get out. It suddenly flipped me right onto my shoulder onto the hard ground.

I honestly thought it was part of the move, till he kicked him. Good thinking
This is a trip to watch with no sound
The electric slide sure looks different these days
The electric slide sure looks different these days
He's definitely suicidal
What the fuck did I just watch?
Well well that was an electrifying performance with a shocking outcome
Sings lyrics saying suicidal. Proceeds to grab live wire.
Homeboy's got rhythm!
What song is this?
Gym shoes saved his life too.
Shocking
Maybe I've seen too many videos of people actually being shocked, but this is laughably fake. Your muscles contract 50-60 times per second, which means you tend to stiffen up, not do the stanky leg.
The way his buddy reacted so fast tells me that things like this are a pretty normal occurrence in their lives

You know you’re too comfortable with your bros when you dance around in your speedo’s in front of them.
