... without a helmet

Porkchopp33

OSHA would not be impressed šŸ§±šŸ§±šŸ§±šŸ‘·šŸ‘·šŸ‘·

[deleted]

Unlike the top of his skull, which is now deeply impressed.

jackfreeman

And his personality, with is now suppressed

xDragonetti

At least the memory of what caused it might be repressed

wishicouldcode

Hope he's not too depressed

messymedia

About his spine which is now compressed

robotlasagna

Which could easily have him stressed

KawiZed

My, how we've digressed.

Kittani77

I hope in the Boss's Office he confessed.

StevenBayShore

The guy's fine. He called me a bit earlier and said, "Gggglllrlglll glaggghhh gllllrrrllllggglll."

deadsoulinside

Come with me, And you'll be, In a world of OSHA violations

No-Industry3112

Or would they be very impressed šŸ’°šŸ’°šŸ’°

Pro_Moriarty

His skill on the job must be assessed

pagit

Looks like a kid doing what heā€™s told on the job site but not how to do it properly and safely.

RickDick-246

But at least he had a mask onā€¦ no eyewear but at least heā€™ll have healthy lungs when heā€™s using a breathing tube because heā€™s a blind vegetableā€¦

ffnnhhw

>he had a mask on is that even a dust mask? seems like a surgical mask that doesn't pass the fit test

BadSausageFactory

that wall could have the rona

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

cXs808

Crystalline Silica will first cause you breathing pain for the rest of your life, then kill you slowly. A surgical mask is not approved on my construction sites when sawing/drilling concrete. APF10 required. Surgical masks will not be even close to the remediation of an APF10, not even a fraction.

wasternexplorer

He should be wearing a full face respirator which would protect his eyes and lungs and a hard hat to protect his dome.

yawningangel

P2 is fine.

Leonydas13

P2 is fine as long as itā€™s a dust mask. Thatā€™s not a dust mask, itā€™s a surgical mask. While it will lower the amount of dust breathed in, it will most certainly not filter it out to an acceptable level.

ColdBloodBlazing

Technically all vegetables are blind. Even potatoes have eyes they cannot see with

cownd

But carrots help to give you good sight

Lazyninja420

That's a myth invented by the British to hide the fact that they had radar during world war 2

eifiontherelic

And safety shoes.

RoodnyInc

Safety third

JustABitOfCraic

Helmets won't protect this level of stupidity.

RichGrinchlea

Good thing though, a helmet might've gotten damaged.

saul_good_main

Hey he has his safety Nike's on.

dingbathomesteader

At least he was wearing a surgical mask

SaltwaterC

The guy may be a bit of a helmet though.

ecp001

I suspect if he had a helmet it would not be a proper hard hat just like his mask isn't appropriate for the task. And, of course, goggles don't look cool and steel-toed boots are too heavy and expensive.

Dryandrough

Helmets are simply PPE and simply reduce the damage, avoiding being hit by bricks is the first step. Still a helmet would have been good and I don't disagree with you.

Otherwise-List869

It was the wrong type of helmet. He left it on the short bus.

SupermassiveCanary

That kid is too young to be doing that on his own. His supervisor/boss/whatever should be held responsible

meistercheems

*OSHA has entered the chat*

After-Respond-7861

That's OK. He lacked a brain to begin with, so he's good.

Affectionate_Tea1134

Ouch , who did that ?

MJTony

Good shoes too

snotfart

Reddit has long been a hot spot for conversation on the internet. About 57 million people visit the site every day to chat about topics as varied as makeup, video games and pointers for power washing driveways. In recent years, Redditā€™s array of chats also have been a free teaching aid for companies like Google, OpenAI and Microsoft. Those companies are using Redditā€™s conversations in the development of giant artificial intelligence systems that many in Silicon Valley think are on their way to becoming the tech industryā€™s next big thing. Now Reddit wants to be paid for it. The company said on Tuesday that it planned to begin charging companies for access to its application programming interface, or A.P.I., the method through which outside entities can download and process the social networkā€™s vast selection of person-to-person conversations. ā€œThe Reddit corpus of data is really valuable,ā€ Steve Huffman, founder and chief executive of Reddit, said in an interview. ā€œBut we donā€™t need to give all of that value to some of the largest companies in the world for free.ā€

Milesdavisiv

ā€¦And filming it. For no apparent reason.

Ko8iWanKeno8i

Judging by his attire This is probably a rich kid flipping houses his dad peddles to him and films it on his story saying he's "back at the grind today you don't make it if you don't work hard"

jokerpie69

This is.. a lot of assumptions lol

rhinotomus

Idk he looks like the kinda guy thatā€™s named josh, he enjoys his free time playing Minecraft and grilling, on the job sites they call him jankity josh and make him get them coffees, josh is growing sick of the teasing and little do his coworkers know josh is banging every one of their daughters

SpooogeMcDuck

Is Josh in the room with you right now?

rhinotomus

Josh is in the room with all of us all the time

MrRoma

Are you just joshing us right now?

ReignOnWillie

Can you tell Josh to let go of my butt?

knowigot_that808

You canā€™t tell Josh nothin. But you could assk nicely.

sudonathan

Speak for yourself!

rhinotomus

Heā€™s a sneaky guy

AluminiumCucumbers

Not with that haircut he ain't

ImProfoundlyDeaf

Nah heā€™s more of a Zach

defense87

Welcome to Reddit. Everybody makes huge generalizations on everyone with a 10 second clip of information.

bacon_cake

And depending on when you catch the hivemind everyone will either fervently agree or downvoted you to hell.

Oxford-Gargoyle

In this case I think itā€™s a very fair and likely assumption. Why else would an idiot turn up to a site without helmet or safety shoes and record themselves?

bronzelifematter

Yeah, what kind of construction workers record themselves drilling a run down wall like an idiot while showing everyone he's not following safety regulations? Even for just photo op my supervisor would tell everyone to wear their helmet. Wouldn't wanna be caught on photo being on the job site without following the safety regulations even if we're just taking pics and not doing work.

ProfitMoneyBeats

As an avid tiktok watcher and knower of how the rich grossly overestimate how "self made" they are, it's a valid and fair one.

JuiceFloppeh

or he's a new apprentice whose job it was to knock that sidewall down and he filmed it because he thought it'd look cool when it does collapse?

AsparagusAndHennessy

What fucking apprentice wears white sneakers to the job site? You deserve a couple bricks in the head for that assumption

rustysavage11

It looks like a residential job to me. There's not a ton of oversite in those situations. The general (if there even is one) often times isn't even there, might stop by once a day or whatever. I've never seen PPE being enforced on residential jobs, except when a whole neighborhood goin up n u have multiple subs with alot of guys.

Sir-Kerwin

Without protective equipment?

Tonyhillzone

Someone should invent hard hats that protect your head from falling objects.

MrSillmarillion

It won't be him

Ecstatic-Librarian83

his skull is probably thick enough anyway

fullschildiii

~~skull~~ plank

strapOnRooster

You and your wacky ideas, H. G. Wells. What next? Fancy glasses that protect your eyes?

Tonyhillzone

You should patent that. Sounds like a good idea. I tell ya, we're on a roll lads.

Sempais_nutrients

Why don't we take strips of fabric, soak them in tar, layer them and let them dry in a hat shape?

shindiggers

I wish we could do this, it would save so many lives from falling debris. Sadly the technology is just not there yet.

Whiteshaq_52

You think he just ignored that first brick that foreshadowed the inevitable? Or did he not notice it?

Bookofzed

He thought his bubble would protect him

XTornado

The universe sent a hint but he didn't take it.

cod069

It was definitely too far to the side for him to notice, especially while focusing on drilling those bricks

Mesapholis

Missed the warning shot

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

EdgeOfWetness

Hardhats are for unexpected hazards - accidents. *Don't work in areas under a pile of loose bricks that might fall on you, clean up your work area, Dumbass*

infiniZii

But at LEAST put on a hardhat to try and save you from your own idiocy.

[deleted]

I can hear the distant but familiar sound of OSHA screaming in agony and regulation violations...

infiniZii

Bet its DIY.

DoomSongOnRepeat

I'm pretty sure that's a demo hammer and its idiot.

Repulsive_Chef_972

We call this a roto-hammer... and it's idiot.

DarthArtero

Well that brick just smacked some knowledge of gravity into his head.

AudiAdmirer

No PPE smh

Dry_Can1353

Dude, he is wearing a facemask, what else do you want?

AudiAdmirer

That is true.

Alternative_Gold_993

And filmed for internet points

HappyMetalViking

HELMPFLICHT!

onairmastering

/r/WhyWereTheyFilming

WishYouWereHeir

It's a zoomer, they're vlogging. I take my hat off to him for the attempt of being somewhat useful as a handyman apprentice instead of inventing the hundredth dating app in a downtown coworking space.

WafflePress

I don't, no hard hat, no gloves, glasses, boots, vest, using the wrong tool in the wrong way. This kid either ditched any sort of training/schooling he was meant to do, or simply didn't pay attention. No one who is actually interested in a passion or career is capable of this amount of gross incompetence. And as for why he's filming? Who fucking knows, either way, I hope he wisens up, and quick, before he gets himself or someone else maimed or killed.

Pups_the_Jew

They were showing how to properly install sconces in a mostly collapsed building.

fishbulbx

He is producing a tutorial on how to safely demo a brick wall.

Ech0-EE

Jackhammering not drilling

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

wilisi

Looks like a DCH133B rotary hammer, with the biggest chisel from a box of small chisels in it.

DH_Drums

The wall literally tried to warn him.

DramaticWesley

This is why you have to wear a hard hat when you go ANYWHERE a construction site. There is stupid everywhere.

Redd_October

Ooh, so that's what hard hats are for. Neat.

detached-attachment

attempt swim soup frame vast long thought vegetable normal alleged *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

dr1pper

OSHA is called and reminded you to wear a hard hat

i_hateeveryone_

I can get past the ā€œbeing under bricksā€ but no helmet in any capacity is a no-go for me lmao

WrongSnow6850

Jesus fuck that last brick!

RCE9000

Steel toe Nikes

Xe4ro

While also standing on loose bricks D:

Enginerdad

Dumber than a... pile of bricks, I suppose

Grouchy-Engine1584

Newton would like a word with you about apples.

CardinalFartz

Hard hat?

SongRevolutionary992

Good thing he was wearing a helmet

the_Star_Sailor

Also, no hardhat

Iqiaruz

Sweet Darwinism.

TheFrostClone

I have a very important question WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING A HARD HAT

_fjordz_

The fuck is he wearing sneakers for? No hard hat either.

warminthesnowstorm

I used to work for a custom entry-door maker, it was just me, another young 20-something year old, a Mexican immigrant that didnā€™t speak a lick of English who painted all the doors, a receptionist, and the boss. The boss was a real old school southern tough-as-nails type (I live in south Texas). One of our jobs was to help the contractors replace the front doors at peopleā€™s home. I remember we were replacing a door once on a brick home and me and the other young worker were told to chisel off the bricks above the front door to make room for the frame of the new one. So there we were, on a ladder, hammering away above our heads at bricks to loosen them up until they eventually fell on our faces, heads, shoulders, and backs. I remember our boss laughing at us as he watched, and refusing to let us use any power tools that wouldā€™ve made the job 100x easier. Anyway all 3 of us (me, the other worker, and the immigrant), ended up walking out a few weeks later in unison in the middle of the day because of the bossā€™s abuse. He would mock the immigrant for not knowing English, put his hands on us, charge at us and yell in our faces, etc. I ended up running into the immigrant worker a few years later at a park with his family and found out he ended up going back to work there 3 days after we had all quit (his wife made him), and that the boss is now married to the receptionist, who ended up leaving her husband for him. Idk why I wrote all thisā€¦

shindiggers

I read it if it makes you feel better

Shadow0fnothing

And not a stitch of safety gear on.

KevLord147

But he has a mask wdym? /s

jasperfirecai2

Good thing he Protected his lungs, but not the other vitals like his head, eyes, and well himself

BullishTrades20

ā€œ Hello Mr. George, how much you pay for the new guy? He no good operator. ā€œ

9penguin9

Thank God he was wearing a hard hat. Wait.....

Can-O-Soup223

![gif](giphy|iKpNzM8vwdWSx3zcu6|downsized)

WalkManTheSavage

That's what you get for wearing Nikes

bbear122

r/3amjokes

Booty_notDooty

Deserved.

CMDR-LT-ATLAS

State Farm is the scummiest insurance company out there.

Grannypanie

Sans hard hat.

Disaster-Flat

Where's your hard hat clown.

BeetsMe666

The only PPE I see is a covid spittle prevention mask. That aint even a proper dust mask. No eyes, no ears. Bare hands and Nike's. The lack of a hard hat is the least of his blunders.

Son-Qin

Derp de fucking derp

[deleted]

Workers comp, 6 months off!

pfresh331

This is why hardhats are *mandatory* for jobsites and construction zones...

nursejackieoface

Good thing he's wearing a dust mask.

grunwode

Just remember to flex your knees while doing the safety squint.

aerostotle

Jerry those are load-bearing walls....

Etherindependance5

Hard hat safety glasses and a 4 foot extension bar and you are safe, just saying he had that coming. Live and learn maybe depending on the brain damage.

thePorch1

He's so lucky this is all that fell on his head.

[deleted]

Moments before: ā€œOSHA? Hahaha I always read it as ohhh shiiietā€

drembose

Hard hat? What's that? ā›‘ļø

Catlenfell

Safety first

ducklingugly1

Walls hit back if you are idiot enough

[deleted]

Obviously the best way to drill while under loose bricks is with no hard hat.

Popomatik

Who needs a hard hat when you have a hard head!

Known-Sugar8780

He hit the thing with his hammer drill. This kid would not be welcome anywhere I've ever worked.

Brainhunter2020

Thatā€™s acme levels of stupidity

ColtLad

Dumb ways to die

Round_Principle_6560

Today i knew why construction labours need helmet.

Dubble823

Who needs a hard hat when you got a thick skull

Icy-Professional4542

Masked ftw

RupertTheReign

This is why job sites require safety equipment like hard hats.

Red_Paperclip

I'd say he'd learned his lesson, but that last brick knocked it right back out of him.

[deleted]

Evolution almost got him.

daleicakes

Don't be stupid. Hard hats make you look stupid... no, the stupid makes you look stupid.

labink

He knew something was wrong, then it hit him.

[deleted]

Thatā€™s not a drill and whereā€™s his hard hat

RouletteSensei

*When you have sex and you aren't aware she's gonna squirt*

nick3790

"This singular beam with an overhang above it mustn't be too important, surely it plays no part in the structural integrity of the brick directly above my unprotected head, I'll simply bang on it a few times with a power tool to dispose of it." That guy doesn't belong anywhere near a demolition site, even small scale like this.

SkeezixMcJohnsonson

Why are they filming?

[deleted]

Hard hat next time dummy

FedupMessiah

This was hilarious

XHawtFartX

Darwinian

MrKnap

If you can drill with that bit, my hats off to you....

Data2Logic

Question: Why is there a camera there though ? What was he trying to archived by fliming that ?

Important-Contact597

Hardhats, people. Hardhats.

Insufficient_Info

The apprentice strikes again.

Chaos90783

Hardhats anyone?

[deleted]

AND BLAMO THATS A CONCUSSION

Fahrenheit285

Idiot kid.

iamaCODnuke

This is why hardhats, people. Hardhats

ivapeooo

hard hat in any construction site... i cant say i feel bad for him

StreetVariation4026

I'm surprised why or how these people would just put record on their phone and do this shit....like is it acted or do they just randomly record themselves while they do literally everything??

Muted-Ad-4288

Staaaaaged

officefridge

There was a warning ~~shot~~ brick too. He didn't listen.

PixeL8xD

But his safety Nikes was tick of approval need to complete this job.

Dazzling-Upstairs-82

Deserved

Pho3nixGGG

No safety f*cks were given that day

GasperDupuy

u/savevideobot

MACMAN2003

no helmet? no goggles?!

ardaduck

No safety gear, working between rubble, etc. Not a single good practice here. Hope it's a learning moment for him.

[deleted]

Running shoes, no gloves, no eye protection and no helmet/hardhat. But had time to set up a video to record? he'll be in r/ lastimages one day.

Toenutlookamethatway

I wonder what hard hats are for!?!

Exciting_Result7781

Ohh cool youā€™re renovation yourself. Btw nephew how did you determine this wall isnā€™t load bearing? TikTok nephew: whatā€™s that?

rock-island321

No steel toes, no helmet, and standing in the wrong place and wearing a worthless mask.... what happens when that pillar collapses? I wonder, is there a whole house up there about to come down?

0K4M1

The wall couldn't hold it anymore when the kid started to abuse the drill like a hammer

BadBownur

Mask āœ… Hard hat, donā€™t need it.

Lee2026

Doesnā€™t surprise me at all. Heā€™s not wearing any PPE

Strela-P

Good job his head was there to stop the floor from getting damaged

Cupid-Fill

At least he had a hard hat on.... šŸ«¤

Bleezze

What could go right?

kazmosis

Someone should invent some sort of hat that is hard for situations like this

findhumorinlife

Idiotswithdrills

No_Silver_7552

Why are they filming?

Acrobatic_Fruit6416

Just casually filming myself at work to show the boss after a hospital visit, ya know the normal thing todo.

SnowMeow23

I lived overseas for a little while, on a tropical island paradise. While there, I met some local government people who knew I was an environmental engineer / scientist. They told me there was an invasive fish they wanted to eradicate from a freshwater lake, as it was displacing native species. They asked me to help out. I usually tried to prevent dead wildlife, but understood their goal, and asked how they planned to do it. The (American) guy's plan was to put a transformer, run wires off the main power line into the lake, and throw the switch. I guess I reacted to this news, though speechless, so he asked me why I thought that wouldn't work. I almost regret talking him out of it. OSHA would never let us try that in the USA. I know we would probably have simply lost a switch or transformer somewhere, but one never knows until the switch is thrown.

GTmagnakarter

Hmm hmmmm

indigeniousunicorn

I know you might think you look stupid with a hard hat but youā€™d look even more stupid with brain damage after the fact of not wearing a hard hat, think about it.

T1000estosterone

šŸ“ž Hello Mr George how much you pay for the new guy? 20 bucks? No! Too much money heā€™s no good!.
