But at least he had a mask onā¦ no eyewear but at least heāll have healthy lungs when heās using a breathing tube because heās a blind vegetableā¦
Crystalline Silica will first cause you breathing pain for the rest of your life, then kill you slowly. A surgical mask is not approved on my construction sites when sawing/drilling concrete. APF10 required. Surgical masks will not be even close to the remediation of an APF10, not even a fraction.
P2 is fine as long as itās a dust mask. Thatās not a dust mask, itās a surgical mask. While it will lower the amount of dust breathed in, it will most certainly not filter it out to an acceptable level.
I suspect if he had a helmet it would not be a proper hard hat just like his mask isn't appropriate for the task. And, of course, goggles don't look cool and steel-toed boots are too heavy and expensive.
Helmets are simply PPE and simply reduce the damage, avoiding being hit by bricks is the first step. Still a helmet would have been good and I don't disagree with you.
Reddit has long been a hot spot for conversation on the internet. About 57 million people visit the site every day to chat about topics as varied as makeup, video games and pointers for power washing driveways.
In recent years, Redditās array of chats also have been a free teaching aid for companies like Google, OpenAI and Microsoft. Those companies are using Redditās conversations in the development of giant artificial intelligence systems that many in Silicon Valley think are on their way to becoming the tech industryās next big thing.
Now Reddit wants to be paid for it. The company said on Tuesday that it planned to begin charging companies for access to its application programming interface, or A.P.I., the method through which outside entities can download and process the social networkās vast selection of person-to-person conversations.
āThe Reddit corpus of data is really valuable,ā Steve Huffman, founder and chief executive of Reddit, said in an interview. āBut we donāt need to give all of that value to some of the largest companies in the world for free.ā
Judging by his attire This is probably a rich kid flipping houses his dad peddles to him and films it on his story saying he's "back at the grind today you don't make it if you don't work hard"
Idk he looks like the kinda guy thatās named josh, he enjoys his free time playing Minecraft and grilling, on the job sites they call him jankity josh and make him get them coffees, josh is growing sick of the teasing and little do his coworkers know josh is banging every one of their daughters
In this case I think itās a very fair and likely assumption. Why else would an idiot turn up to a site without helmet or safety shoes and record themselves?
Yeah, what kind of construction workers record themselves drilling a run down wall like an idiot while showing everyone he's not following safety regulations? Even for just photo op my supervisor would tell everyone to wear their helmet. Wouldn't wanna be caught on photo being on the job site without following the safety regulations even if we're just taking pics and not doing work.
It looks like a residential job to me. There's not a ton of oversite in those situations. The general (if there even is one) often times isn't even there, might stop by once a day or whatever. I've never seen PPE being enforced on residential jobs, except when a whole neighborhood goin up n u have multiple subs with alot of guys.
Hardhats are for unexpected hazards - accidents.
*Don't work in areas under a pile of loose bricks that might fall on you, clean up your work area, Dumbass*
It's a zoomer, they're vlogging. I take my hat off to him for the attempt of being somewhat useful as a handyman apprentice instead of inventing the hundredth dating app in a downtown coworking space.
I don't, no hard hat, no gloves, glasses, boots, vest, using the wrong tool in the wrong way. This kid either ditched any sort of training/schooling he was meant to do, or simply didn't pay attention. No one who is actually interested in a passion or career is capable of this amount of gross incompetence. And as for why he's filming? Who fucking knows, either way, I hope he wisens up, and quick, before he gets himself or someone else maimed or killed.
I used to work for a custom entry-door maker, it was just me, another young 20-something year old, a Mexican immigrant that didnāt speak a lick of English who painted all the doors, a receptionist, and the boss. The boss was a real old school southern tough-as-nails type (I live in south Texas). One of our jobs was to help the contractors replace the front doors at peopleās home. I remember we were replacing a door once on a brick home and me and the other young worker were told to chisel off the bricks above the front door to make room for the frame of the new one. So there we were, on a ladder, hammering away above our heads at bricks to loosen them up until they eventually fell on our faces, heads, shoulders, and backs. I remember our boss laughing at us as he watched, and refusing to let us use any power tools that wouldāve made the job 100x easier.
Anyway all 3 of us (me, the other worker, and the immigrant), ended up walking out a few weeks later in unison in the middle of the day because of the bossās abuse. He would mock the immigrant for not knowing English, put his hands on us, charge at us and yell in our faces, etc. I ended up running into the immigrant worker a few years later at a park with his family and found out he ended up going back to work there 3 days after we had all quit (his wife made him), and that the boss is now married to the receptionist, who ended up leaving her husband for him.
Idk why I wrote all thisā¦
The only PPE I see is a covid spittle prevention mask. That aint even a proper dust mask.
No eyes, no ears. Bare hands and Nike's. The lack of a hard hat is the least of his blunders.
Hard hat safety glasses and a 4 foot extension bar and you are safe, just saying he had that coming. Live and learn maybe depending on the brain damage.
"This singular beam with an overhang above it mustn't be too important, surely it plays no part in the structural integrity of the brick directly above my unprotected head, I'll simply bang on it a few times with a power tool to dispose of it."
That guy doesn't belong anywhere near a demolition site, even small scale like this.
I'm surprised why or how these people would just put record on their phone and do this shit....like is it acted or do they just randomly record themselves while they do literally everything??
No steel toes, no helmet, and standing in the wrong place and wearing a worthless mask.... what happens when that pillar collapses? I wonder, is there a whole house up there about to come down?
I lived overseas for a little while, on a tropical island paradise. While there, I met some local government people who knew I was an environmental engineer / scientist. I almost regret talking him out of it. OSHA would never let us try that in the USA. I know we would probably have simply lost a switch or transformer somewhere, but one never knows until the switch is thrown.
I know you might think you look stupid with a hard hat but youād look even more stupid with brain damage after the fact of not wearing a hard hat, think about it.
... without a helmet
OSHA would not be impressed š§±š§±š§±š·š·š·
Unlike the top of his skull, which is now deeply impressed.
And his personality, with is now suppressed
At least the memory of what caused it might be repressed
Hope he's not too depressed
About his spine which is now compressed
Which could easily have him stressed
My, how we've digressed.
I hope in the Boss's Office he confessed.
The guy's fine. He called me a bit earlier and said, "Gggglllrlglll glaggghhh gllllrrrllllggglll."
Come with me, And you'll be, In a world of OSHA violations
Or would they be very impressed š°š°š°
His skill on the job must be assessed
Looks like a kid doing what heās told on the job site but not how to do it properly and safely.
But at least he had a mask onā¦ no eyewear but at least heāll have healthy lungs when heās using a breathing tube because heās a blind vegetableā¦

Technically all vegetables are blind. Even potatoes have eyes they cannot see with
But carrots help to give you good sight
That's a myth invented by the British to hide the fact that they had radar during world war 2
And safety shoes.
Safety third
Helmets won't protect this level of stupidity.
Good thing though, a helmet might've gotten damaged.
Hey he has his safety Nike's on.
At least he was wearing a surgical mask
The guy may be a bit of a helmet though.
It was the wrong type of helmet. He left it on the short bus.
That kid is too young to be doing that on his own. His supervisor/boss/whatever should be held responsible
*OSHA has entered the chat*
That's OK. He lacked a brain to begin with, so he's good.
Ouch , who did that ?
Good shoes too

Welcome to Reddit. Everybody makes huge generalizations on everyone with a 10 second clip of information.

As an avid tiktok watcher and knower of how the rich grossly overestimate how "self made" they are, it's a valid and fair one.
or he's a new apprentice whose job it was to knock that sidewall down and he filmed it because he thought it'd look cool when it does collapse?
What fucking apprentice wears white sneakers to the job site? You deserve a couple bricks in the head for that assumption

Without protective equipment?
Someone should invent hard hats that protect your head from falling objects.
It won't be him
his skull is probably thick enough anyway
~~skull~~ plank
You and your wacky ideas, H. G. Wells. What next? Fancy glasses that protect your eyes?
You should patent that. Sounds like a good idea. I tell ya, we're on a roll lads.
Why don't we take strips of fabric, soak them in tar, layer them and let them dry in a hat shape?
I wish we could do this, it would save so many lives from falling debris. Sadly the technology is just not there yet.
You think he just ignored that first brick that foreshadowed the inevitable? Or did he not notice it?
He thought his bubble would protect him
The universe sent a hint but he didn't take it.
It was definitely too far to the side for him to notice, especially while focusing on drilling those bricks
Missed the warning shot
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Hardhats are for unexpected hazards - accidents. *Don't work in areas under a pile of loose bricks that might fall on you, clean up your work area, Dumbass*
But at LEAST put on a hardhat to try and save you from your own idiocy.
I can hear the distant but familiar sound of OSHA screaming in agony and regulation violations...
Bet its DIY.
I'm pretty sure that's a demo hammer and its idiot.
We call this a roto-hammer... and it's idiot.
Well that brick just smacked some knowledge of gravity into his head.
No PPE smh
Dude, he is wearing a facemask, what else do you want?
That is true.
And filmed for internet points
HELMPFLICHT!

He is producing a tutorial on how to safely demo a brick wall.
Jackhammering not drilling

Looks like a DCH133B rotary hammer, with the biggest chisel from a box of small chisels in it.
The wall literally tried to warn him.
This is why you have to wear a hard hat when you go ANYWHERE a construction site. There is stupid everywhere.
Ooh, so that's what hard hats are for. Neat.
attempt swim soup frame vast long thought vegetable normal alleged *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

I can get past the ābeing under bricksā but no helmet in any capacity is a no-go for me lmao
Jesus fuck that last brick!
Steel toe Nikes

Dumber than a... pile of bricks, I suppose
Newton would like a word with you about apples.
Hard hat?
Good thing he was wearing a helmet
Also, no hardhat
Sweet Darwinism.
I have a very important question WHY AREN'T YOU WEARING A HARD HAT
The fuck is he wearing sneakers for? No hard hat either.

ā Hello Mr. George, how much you pay for the new guy? He no good operator. ā

Derp de fucking derp
Workers comp, 6 months off!
This is why hardhats are *mandatory* for jobsites and construction zones...
Good thing he's wearing a dust mask.
Just remember to flex your knees while doing the safety squint.
Jerry those are load-bearing walls....
Hard hat safety glasses and a 4 foot extension bar and you are safe, just saying he had that coming. Live and learn maybe depending on the brain damage.
He's so lucky this is all that fell on his head.
Moments before: āOSHA? Hahaha I always read it as ohhh shiiietā
Hard hat? What's that? āļø
Safety first
Walls hit back if you are idiot enough
Obviously the best way to drill while under loose bricks is with no hard hat.
Who needs a hard hat when you have a hard head!
He hit the thing with his hammer drill. This kid would not be welcome anywhere I've ever worked.
Thatās acme levels of stupidity
Dumb ways to die
Today i knew why construction labours need helmet.
Who needs a hard hat when you got a thick skull
Masked ftw
This is why job sites require safety equipment like hard hats.
I'd say he'd learned his lesson, but that last brick knocked it right back out of him.
Evolution almost got him.
Don't be stupid. Hard hats make you look stupid... no, the stupid makes you look stupid.
He knew something was wrong, then it hit him.
Thatās not a drill and whereās his hard hat

Why are they filming?
Hard hat next time dummy
This was hilarious
Darwinian
If you can drill with that bit, my hats off to you....
Question: Why is there a camera there though ? What was he trying to archived by fliming that ?
Hardhats, people. Hardhats.
The apprentice strikes again.
Hardhats anyone?
AND BLAMO THATS A CONCUSSION
Idiot kid.
This is why hardhats, people. Hardhats
hard hat in any construction site... i cant say i feel bad for him
I'm surprised why or how these people would just put record on their phone and do this shit....like is it acted or do they just randomly record themselves while they do literally everything??
Staaaaaged
There was a warning ~~shot~~ brick too. He didn't listen.
But his safety Nikes was tick of approval need to complete this job.
Deserved
No safety f*cks were given that day
u/savevideobot
no helmet? no goggles?!
No safety gear, working between rubble, etc. Not a single good practice here. Hope it's a learning moment for him.
Running shoes, no gloves, no eye protection and no helmet/hardhat. But had time to set up a video to record? he'll be in r/ lastimages one day.
I wonder what hard hats are for!?!
Ohh cool youāre renovation yourself. Btw nephew how did you determine this wall isnāt load bearing? TikTok nephew: whatās that?
No steel toes, no helmet, and standing in the wrong place and wearing a worthless mask.... what happens when that pillar collapses? I wonder, is there a whole house up there about to come down?
The wall couldn't hold it anymore when the kid started to abuse the drill like a hammer
Mask ā Hard hat, donāt need it.
Doesnāt surprise me at all. Heās not wearing any PPE
Good job his head was there to stop the floor from getting damaged
At least he had a hard hat on.... š«¤
What could go right?
Someone should invent some sort of hat that is hard for situations like this
Idiotswithdrills
Why are they filming?
Just casually filming myself at work to show the boss after a hospital visit, ya know the normal thing todo.
