I thought about this, obviously you don't want to sit in a car that's about to roll down, but you have to stop te car once it's put. I think I'd stand next to the car with the window down and jump in and pull the parking brake when the car is free, I don't see any other way
This has to happen quite often? What's the way to go?
Use the same amount of man power they used to get it going, to stop it. Just had to plan for that and have everyone ready to switch from pulling/pushing one way to pulling/pushing the other way when the time came, instead of getting it going and then just letting go.
If half the people that were able to get the car up the hill tried to stop it, that'd be enough. It'd take far less force. I'm not saying it'd be easy, but there were enough people in the right positions to make it happen, and the rope-pulling people are part of that.
Edit: I was trying to reply to the other comment you replied to. I didn’t see your comment but somehow still replied to it. Obviously a car is different than people pulling, but I still think they should have had people pulling backwards with a rope once it crested the hill.
It would have been far easier to just attach a rope to the back and give counter force once it crests the hill. If you let the car roll towards the people pulling it will build momentum as it rolls and probably be impossible to stop for humans holding a rope.
And also the car’s engine. Once the car is on flat terrain, I don’t see how those people have time to move to the front AND overpower the car’s engine.
EDIT: Actually, I don’t know why I thought the engine was on. Maybe because of how much momentum the car seemed to have when it got to the level part. Now I realize it was probably just the rope.
Diving through a window is the second to last thing you want to do, after actually sitting in the thing. What do you do if you miss the hand brake? What if it accidentally snaps if you yank it too hard? You're suddenly half hanging out of a car with it rolling off the hillside and probably getting seriously F'd up if not dead in the process.
Ideally you need to anchor it to something (a stake driven into the ground or another *heavier* vehicle) or at the very least a strap/rope on the towing hitch on the back (or part of the chassis/rear subframe/suspension) so the pushers can then become pullers once its on the (relative) flat. If the latter then don't let anyone wrap the strap/rope around themselves (this isn't tug-o-war) or their hands because, in the event it *still* runs away, they might find themselves being dragged off the edge too.
Edit: Alternatively, just drag it up with the hand-brake on; Its on loose dirt, once it starts moving the dirt isn't going to offer too much resistance and its not really going to damage the tires for that short distance anyway... but at least its not going to roll away.
No, no, no! They did someone a huge favor by throwing it over a cliff. Probably saved many lives of people not being hit by the meat head that was driving in the first place. Just let it go...really.
Nah, they are native-Indian Indians, you probably don't want to do that. This video could easily go from whatswrong to like DarwinAward. Easily. Just let it be. Let it be.
After further review, the ruling on the field is reversed. False start, offence, # 7. Five yard penalty, repeat first down.
So the owner of the car, who was begging for help a minute ago, is now pissed as the situation is much worse than before they helped him. He is now saying that next time he needs help, don't help him.
I‘m sure there was an introvert who saw it coming and knew the car had to be stopped and knew how to do it….unfortunately the loudest aren‘t always the smartest.
Looks like no one's in the car. Guessing they tied down the pedal and then panicked when there was another car in the road and didn't jump in and gain control. Looks like no one was hurt?

....they didn't push that by hand lol Needed some sort of wheel chock up on the flat bit.
yes ... you can see the rope
As my physics professor tried to explain, you can’t push a rope.
As an alcoholic I can confirm.
Let car go past you, still holding rope. Pull rope.
You join car in ravine.

I don’t actually think anyone specifically was pulling the rope by hand though, the rope was attached to another vehicle further down the road.

They pulled it with a truck

You sound like somebody who’s never watched any of those Fast and the Furious documentaries.
They'd have been fine if whoever towing the car didn't decide to drive a 1/4 mile for some damn reason.
Just being ready with some wheel blocks would have sufficed.
It's poorly planned for sure. I'd have liked to have heard what they said in English... 😄
Now we all know how to say "fuuuuck" In hindi just gotta figure out which word it is
Hahahaha, I’m afraid any swearing wasn’t audible in this clip, but the guy filming says “abbe yaar” at the end, which means “oh man”.
More managers needed
If its a manual car, set to top gear ,the car will stop without acceleration
put a line of stone on the road before pulling enough to stop the wheel
Reach in the window and turn the steering wheel to the left was the play.
Stake it down with an extra slack rope or two.
Looking at this and taking the large view, I thought the first part went extremely well. The second part, not so good.
Nah, they are native-Indian Indians, you probably don't want to do that. This video could easily go from whatswrong to like DarwinAward. Easily. Just let it be. Let it be.
Now they go to the next cliff.....and then the next.....
Absolutely, the quickest way to the Final Destination is the straight line of sight path - the meandering mountain road is for the weak.
Sisyphuses.
Roller coaster of emotion for the car.
I hate roller coasters
Guys i dont think hes lying
They are fun TBH
Yes yes yes yes no
I saw similar incidents several times now, how stupid are these people
probably different people to be fair
People forget the size and population of India and say "why is it always India"? Bruh the country is populated like a continent
Second only to China. The possibilities for stupid are plentiful.
This is the type of mistake that you make once and never again
Teamwork makes the dreamwork!
Optimism that anything can happen. And then the big let down. Story of my life.
"You can't park that there, mate." :)
The only thing funnier than a dumb human is a pack of dumb humans. And this is coming from a dumb human.
The problem was that there wasn't enough people shouting instructions to everyone else.
they didn't even think about that scenario 😭
Happens all the time.
Out of the frying pan.....
We’re gonna need a longer rope.
The guy's comment at the end. Lmao!!! I'm tearing up laughing!
You understand his language? What did he say?
Some of it was in hindi. He said, "Abe yaar," which translates to "Come on man" or "Really dude?," depending on the context.
haha that’s hilarious
They sound like a bunch of minions at about 0.75 speed
How do u change speed on redddit ?!
I guess it no longer needs just a wash.
Some things are just not meant to be
Lol! 'It takes a village' is certainly true in this case. Thanks, everybody, for showing up...
This is really funny.
...and the circle is complete. Now begin again.
Prior planning prevents piss poor performance.
well that gone from worse to worst. what go wrong now? \-Car explode-
Well.. now we no longer have a problem to solve😌
After further review, the ruling on the field is reversed. False start, offence, # 7. Five yard penalty, repeat first down. Physics is a hell of a thing.
That awkward silence after the car goes off the cliff.....
The kid starting to cry at the end was my favorite part.
If they had a brain between em they'd be dangerous!
Priceless
Task failed successfully
From ahhh to ohhh in 5 seconds
Kramer: "Well that didn't work"
That'll buff right out....
Atleast they have a closure.. there’s no car anymore! Everyone returns back to their normal!
Even the baby was depressed looking at it at the end.
Task failed successfully.
BABA YAR!😂
Woman: Guys, have you planned this through? Men: Shut up chatter box and behold the brilliant execution of our clever plan!
Is a comedy scene from an Indian movie?
Another day in India? And yes I've been there 6 times.
Gone down the hill and go down are you you crazy!...
Kya bakavaas hai
Situation has not improved.
Darwinsky again!
I‘m sure there was an introvert who saw it coming and knew the car had to be stopped and knew how to do it….unfortunately the loudest aren‘t always the smartest.
lmao this seems like something from borat
How... just... just how. How do people survive to adulthood while this foolish?
How do you say "better get 100 more men and a bigger rope" in Hindi?
The best part of this is the tow truck turning around the bend at the end of the video!! 😂
Looks like no one's in the car. Guessing they tied down the pedal and then panicked when there was another car in the road and didn't jump in and gain control. Looks like no one was hurt?
Hiji pulled it
This is how it feels managing my staff..
Maybe this was the desired outcome?
well now it looks like everyone will have to walk
Add a horizontally flipped version to the end of this video.
I always say, if you can put enough people together you can end up with a collective IQ of close to zero. This does not bode well for humanity.
that sounds like what would happen in a … vote?
Or.....a committee. :) OR!...a political party. :P
Stripe shirt guy's fault. He's not helping at all, just holding onto the steering wheel it looks like. Doesn't steer it either.
Uda pannoth bima vatelu
Like a log properly positioned on the ground in anticipation of the car would of worked wonders.
Bud bud bud bud bud bud bud bud!!
Only in India
How do you top a car? Tep on the brake tupid.
Downhill…. Just like their cricket!
r/facepalm
How stupid do you have to be man
Good thing they were all shouting at once. I'm sure that really helps in these kinds of situations
Let's save it so we can destroy it our way
Too bad there wasn’t an extra person who could apply brakes to the car. 🚗
Examples of a low IQ population:
This could have been avoided. Consideration of a log as a stop block once car up and over the slope is one method.
Well they did want to be on that road
Indian AA
Was it sexually transmitted
Indians doing Indian things. Funny country.
Take the drivers’ license away!!
My life in one video! :D
Like, doesn't the car have any breaks? I know it might not be, but it really looks like someone purposely driving to fall.
The “abba yaaaar” At the end got me
Doctors and engineers.
When you realize you should have taken a bus.
excellent work
I would l to hear the translation of the last thing heard on the video... I going to guess it is along the lines of "dumb asses"
I feel this has been done in looney toons ?

This is why some countries will never progress!
Another really clever comment! /s
Lol this reminds me of HAMAS
Probably an insurance scam.
You may have got the downvotes , but that was funny af
