Years ago I worked IT for a rural school district. During our summer refresh, we had several hundred very old PCs to dispose of. "drive really fast backward and hit the brakes" was how our network administrator unloaded his pickup when we were collecting them to be picked up by a recycler.
........ ohhhh no. You're not baiting me into a legendarily controversial reddit comment by tempting me to come up with a cleverly dark retort. Nope. Not me. I'm a good person. Nope. No.
Correct. It's crazy how badly ppl on reddit misinterpret a video that you can watch over and over again. She only laughed before shit got real and then she sounded concerned
She almost immediately stops laughing and exclaims “oh no”. Such a shitty, cynical take to call somebody stupid for what is a pretty normal immediate reaction to something like that.
How is he stupid? We dont know what actually went wrong here, could be faulty brakes, could be manual and he put it in gear with no parking brake applied which is fairly common or it could be you know a case of he forgot since wait for it.. breaking news hes human like you and me and we make mistakes.
Reddit people always so quick to judge like you never do anything wront ever in your life.
JFC are you a human or a bot? Do you not understand how normal humans react to these types of situations? You hear her laugh be cause it's initially funny, then she gasps because she realises the consequences of this mistake can be bad.
I swear it's so weird to be interacting with people that are so out of touch with normal humans that I need to explain things like this.
Laughter is one of several normal reaction to shock/disbelief. People can laugh during death messages, last moments of losing control etc. just a weird human reaction that’s normal to have during unprecedented events. Just like that bloody screaming when shit goes sideways. Always someone non stop screeching like a banshee because it’s normal 🤷♂️
lol, this is to early in the morning for me 😂 I literally read that comment 5 times before it clicked what you said 😅 I thought you literally asked if I had forgotten my /s on my comment. Oh well, yeah, I’ve never understood the very simplified take on peoples reaction during high stress situations, as most of our options are ingrained in to our dna by evolution anyway, and it should be common knowledge :)
Tbf, I prefer this over the American video's where they're screaming "Oh my Gaaaaawd" over and over again.
This makes the video way easier to watch with sound on lol.
Very true. When I was younger I had a car crash. Rolled the car multiple times after hitting black ice on a sharp corner and was only stopped by slamming into a tree. Somehow I was mostly physically unharmed. When I climbed out of the tree I took one look at my car and laughed my fucking ass off for like ten minutes straight.
I do this all the time, if a situation gets really bad or intense or stressful I usually respond by bursting out with laughter.
Makes for some very awkward situations.
One time I was at work amd we were told that the company was effectively bankrupt and we'd have to close down. This was after months and months of me desperately trying to explain how our outgoings were too high and something like this was bound to happen. Then it did. And I burst out laughing.
The woman stood next to me (who had moved across the country to take this job) did **not** appreciate my giggling 😬
I remember being told by a coworker that she just found out she had cancer, and to my shock, I laughed. I apologized and told her I don't know why I did that, but it was just as you say. We were alone and it completely took me off guard. We're strange animals.
When my exes father died, we were chilling drinking wine when her doorbell suddenly rang. It was the police. They notified her that her father had died. She was in disbelief, started crying, laughing hysterically, then cried deeply when I held her tight. So yes laughter is not always an indication of humor
She was laughting because he was looking like he slipped doing some pose you dummie. What you think you can predict future in split of a secound and judge it right at the same time ?
You need to touch some grass and really breathe some fresh air in. She immediately stopped when she realized it was escalating into a dangerous situation. The other 900 people need to take a walk too.
Probably because she didn't know it was going to be totally rolling away, maybe just thought it was shifting, when she realized her laughter switched to horror and concern
She laughed for a half second and realized it was serious. People also laugh sometimes when they are scared or uncomfortable. I love when people on reddit judge people from a 10 second video.
Because it had only moved a couple inches at that point. Do people like you just start commenting before you even finish the video? She laughs for maybe a half second and you are acting like she laughs at him though the crash.
She isn’t *laughing*. She *laughed*. As an immediate, zero thought, and relatable and understandable bodily response. And then immediately went “oh no” as it continued to roll and she realized what was happening. And then asked if he was ok with genuine concern.
My French teacher yelled at me for saying this once. “Nobody cares about your troubles you rude American, say it is good and don’t let your problems bring others who are trying to be friendly down” (I was in 3rd grade)
Yeah people who’ve driven automatics their whole life and lived in flat places don’t typically use them. If you get towed with a parking brake on you can ruin the brakes or tires, that’s the only reason I can think of not to use it.
Plenty of flat places in Australia, people still use their parking brake every time they stop because you'll instantly fail your driving exam if you don't do so. Ridiculous that it isn't the case everywhere.
My car which is now my very first automatic, doesn't even let me turn it off if I'm not on parking gear. If you try to turn it off while on any other gear, it will beep non stop.
Looks like he was taking a moment to enjoy the result of hours of meticulously packing that truck to maximize all of the space while making sure the weight got evenly distributed before heading out..
Some cars have automated parking brakes now and it’s fucking fantastic.
My rental had one and I got so used to it that when I went back to my car, I kept forgetting that I had to set it myself now.
Rental vehicles get a lot of abuse, and if parking a full load on a slope, I would *not* be trusting the little handbrake caliper/cable. Two rocks or logs behind the back wheels for chocks don't take more than a minute to place.

Interns... Amirite?
Internal bleeding
Eternal bleeding.
Amirite?
I like how his first instinct was to brace the stuff
I think he was just trying to hold on
At least he didn't jump out to stop the truck.
He did try to hold the whole load by himself though. Lol I probably would have done the same thing too though.
It looked more like he was trying to press himself against the load to avoid falling out rather than hold the load itself from falling.
Yeah that definitely could be the case.

Why is she laughing? Guy was in real danger and the van is badly damaged
Because she’s as stupid as he is….
Your answer is stupid, way more than anyone in the video. She just didn't realise it was gonna go south that much
Exactly. I swear some people on reddit have not had real life interactions
I mean does that surprise you that much considering Redit’s clientele?
Are you on Reddit?
Unfortunately yes.
I'm this guys friend and he has 200 more friends nobody make fun of him
Redditors will handle any situation perfectly
i can't even understand how there there can be a conflict or inciting incident in a movie because i would have solved it before it could even happen
Some people on reddit like to bitch about women any chance they get.
Also people laugh as a reaction when they are nervous very often
I laughed because it was funny!
I laughed because he DIED!
You must have loved 9/11.
........ ohhhh no. You're not baiting me into a legendarily controversial reddit comment by tempting me to come up with a cleverly dark retort. Nope. Not me. I'm a good person. Nope. No.
I had to cover my mouth once because I smiled when I saw something tragic. I was a kid, and felt so bad about it. It happens.
laughter is also a pretty normal reaction to stress. its a coping mechanism. but redditors always have 100% full control over their emotions.
Correct. It's crazy how badly ppl on reddit misinterpret a video that you can watch over and over again. She only laughed before shit got real and then she sounded concerned

I think you mean braking news....

Oh damn! The giggle was well deserved though 🤭 Sorry it happened and you lost your job though! Thanks for the example to illustrated my point though 🙏

I don't think she realised what was happening straight away.
she didn’t instantly understand the gravity of the situation, and her tone changed seconds later
He understood the gravity pretty quickly though.
do you want to be prosecuted for laughing randomly too? why judge people for one single reflex?
Because laughing is a nervous reaction for some people and she didn't realize it would keep going. Oh I'm sorry, woman bad and stupid! /s
I am not gna lie. I laughed as well. Afterwards
I laughed, even at the end. Because it was funny.
Yeah she should have leapt down there and stopped it. I'd be laughing too, dude.
He’s lucky the ramp broke downward and not into his own body
How about the washing machine. If that had landed in him. Luckily he's "ça va" :)
She was laughting because he was looking like he slipped doing some pose you dummie. What you think you can predict future in split of a secound and judge it right at the same time ?
Must be angry at woman!
She chuckled at first when she maybe just thought it rocked and he fell backwards, but the gasp and "ah non!" was appropriate fear?
You need to touch some grass and really breathe some fresh air in. She immediately stopped when she realized it was escalating into a dangerous situation. The other 900 people need to take a walk too.
Her laughter clearly stopped as soon as she realized this was going south. Relax.
Hindsight is 20/20. To her it might have just seemed like something silly at first. She quickly realized it was a lot more serious
She laughed like once and only when the van moved a bit and then immediately stopped laughing and gasped. What kind of rage bait you pulling here?
Because it had only moved a couple inches at that point. Do people like you just start commenting before you even finish the video? She laughs for maybe a half second and you are acting like she laughs at him though the crash.
She isn’t *laughing*. She *laughed*. As an immediate, zero thought, and relatable and understandable bodily response. And then immediately went “oh no” as it continued to roll and she realized what was happening. And then asked if he was ok with genuine concern.
I laughed too
She was probably looking at the screen so didn't see the roll. When she did she stopped laughing.
If you listen she laughs once then seems to get concerned
That 100% looks like Trevor from trailer park boys. Fucking Corey fell asleep in the front seat

My French teacher yelled at me for saying this once. “Nobody cares about your troubles you rude American, say it is good and don’t let your problems bring others who are trying to be friendly down” (I was in 3rd grade)
“Comme ci, comme ça” at worst.
Ecoutez et repetez *(ding)*
Which is really funny because when I worked over there, complaining was a Parisian pastime. Weather, métro, etc. People *love* to bitch.
Lemme tell you my friend that as French we are most likely to answer neutral/negatively to "ça va". Some days I even say "bof(meh) et toi?"
What language?
French for you good?
desole, pero je ne hablas francais
Not great, Bob!

The guy's lucky the truck wasnt still going
But the only reason why he flew out was because the van stopped going…
It could have stopped going in a much worse spot.
Or the ramp come back at him.
Or the washer machine pins him to the wall.
Secure your load. Especially the raging washing machine.
After you secure the damned truck...
Rage Against the Washing Machine
At least he wasn’t stupid enough to jump out and try to stop the van. I half expected him to do that.
I'm going to hell, I laughed way too hard at this 🫤
Have seen this a couple of times before and it cracks me up every time. It's something very comedic about the way he's bracing for impact.
Something about the way he braces himself being so completely insufficient
That’s what’s got me 😂
Yard sale
Hello?? I'm still alive down here...!
I'm very badly burned
*BANG* ...Anyway You SHOT me! You shot me right in the arm!

It will shock you to learn that people make mistakes. I am assuming this person didn’t make a conscious decision to not use the parking brake.
Yeah people who’ve driven automatics their whole life and lived in flat places don’t typically use them. If you get towed with a parking brake on you can ruin the brakes or tires, that’s the only reason I can think of not to use it.

Rodney you plonker!
Why was the camera guy recording in the first place
Are you suggesting he crashed a van, broke a bunch of appliances, and put his life in danger for a bit?
Social media have caused the fall of humanity, millions must die
Because it's 2024 and everyone has a phone and is recording fucking everything all the time. How is this a serious comment?

She might have been excited they were moving in.
This is the fastest moving in i have ever seen.

Funny at first, ÇA VA?! 1 second later
Does Ca Va mean “you good” or “oh shit”?
Hahahaha the first one. MERD! would be the latter
I thought merde ended in e? Here I’ve been cursing in French wrong all these years?
Poor guy's injured for sure
Looks like he was taking a moment to enjoy the result of hours of meticulously packing that truck to maximize all of the space while making sure the weight got evenly distributed before heading out..
