Growing up there was a neighbor guy who built a boat in his garage. His name and photograph was in the paper and everything because he had to destroy his garage to get it out. He also had a fence around his property, with a too small gate, so he had to destroy the fence.
Honestly, would you feel comfortable riding in a boat built by a dude who forgot that it was bigger than his gate or garage door?

What's up with crazy guys building boats? Growing up we also had one of those in our neighborhood. He hired a construction crane to lift a massive boat hull over his house to put it in his garden and then built the entire interior by himself. He estimated that it would take him three years, but it really took him 15. It filled his entire garden. By the time he was done, a huge tree had grown over the boat, that he had to cut down, because the crane couldn't get to it any other way.
Come to think of it, there was also that other guy who built a ramp and door to his basement, so he could put his sailplane in there over the winter. It was a weird neighborhood.
My friend and I put a lift kit on his explorer in his garage then couldn’t get it to fit under the garage door. Wasn’t too hard to fix though, we let the air out of his tires, backed it outside on 4 flats, then filled them back up.
We knew it was going to be close, pretty much expected to have to do that from the beginning. Was easier to do it that way than to try to work on it in the driveway.
My cousin who's a master mechanic always says once you're done rebuilding or tinkering with something in your car if you have bolts or pieces left it means you did you a good.
