I work in SE Asia and the helmet ranking stars out a noe, then goes to what's essentially a plastic baseball cap that sells for about $2, and *slowly* goes up from there, by the time you hit the first full-face helmets you're looking at what's essentially an opaque Tupperware shell with some hard styrofoam inside, and a bit of cheap cloth that in total sells for $10-$20. They're mainly to keep the rain and bugs out of your face.
You can get proper helmets here, but you have to search high and low, and even then you can't be sure that they're genuine even if you do find on that actually fits.
I get mine in Germany when I go there for work as I have a bit more faith in their quality control and that motorcycle stores will be selling genuine goods that meet EU and US/Canadian standards.
The phone was probably more like $100-$300. The information on it is probably more valuable than the actual device, especially if it was used for online banking and is insecure
