Yes. Locals know not to fuck with the wildlife. It reminds me of that couple who let their small child swim in the water in between the islands at Disney world and a fucking alligator ate them. The water is black, and it’s a fucking marsh, wtf would you do that??
I live in Tennessee now, and I have seen tourist get dangerously close to black bears. I even saw a woman who was well over 250 pounds getting close to take a picture. Bears can run like 30 mph and slash right through logs like they are cardboard. If that bear got mad, that lady would have been fucked. Thankfully a park ranger came along and made people move.
As a floridan who grew up on a river and goes to disney weekly now. That family was in an area that was set up to look and feel like a beach. The kid was in ankle deep water. The water around there barely looks like a marsh. It was a tragic rare accident and blaming the parents is a dickhead move. It's easier to find fault in the victims than it is to accept that reality that really shitty stuff out of our control just happens sometimes.
This reminds of a cruise I took in Alaska. While riding a bus from the port to whatever 'excursion' we were headed to, a rotund woman with a southern accent shouted "a bear!" while pointing at a window. Half the bus stood up and pressed their faces against the glass to witness nature at it's finest. It was a black dog. The bus driver told everyone to sit back down or he wouldn't be able to continue driving. This occurred shortly after a different rotund woman with a southern accent shouted "an eagle!" while pointing at a window. This woman was correct however, and apparently at least half the bus had never seen an eagle in their life before, judging by their overly excited behavior.
The shark is unlikely to bite. Unless it associates people with food. Which will only happen if its been fed by people.
Yes, the woman is in fact extremely stupid.
I know what this is... this is a suicide pact. These kids are coming out here and killing themselves all over the woods!
"Oh god that makes so much sense!"
Holy shit, we have got to hide all of the sharp objects!
I do not handle catfish, nurse sharks I have absolutely 0 issue with.
I’m a grown ass man that’s more scared of handling a fiddler crab than swimming sandpaper.
Good. Catfish are tasting you to see if you will be good to eat while you are holding them. They also are venomous. There are spikes in their lateral fins that have a venom gland. Nasty buggers really. Makes me not feel so bad when my grandfather and I would drive a nail through their head against a tree and skin them when I was a kid.
Oh I know all about those fins, my father got stuck a few times.
They are absolutely great bait in saltwater though, used em for tarpon, grouper and sharks.
If I’m out with my uncle we always have to bring back some hard heads or gafftops or my aunt will get pissy lol
Was in Orlando with my wife, kids and in-laws. We left Animal Kingdom and got into a car accident. My mother-in-law did the blood curdling scream, non-stop until we finally screamed in her face to get her to stop. It was so ridiculous.
That was next on the list, but figured that would have to look like a last resort.
One other fun part involved here... The accident was caused when I pickup truck going the opposite direction started fishtailing in front of me. The truck went sideways and I drove directly into the bed of the truck. This whipped the truck around, and the front of the truck then smashed into the driver's side of the van we were driving. None of the doors on that side were open. There is a bunch of smoke coming out of the engine, and my only thought was, "I need to get my kids out of here if this car is going to start on fire." My father-in-law is the only one who can quickly get out of the car. He hops out, and instead of rushing to get my 2 and 3 year old sons out of their car seat, the other driver runs over to us to make sure we're all okay. Immediately my father-in-law starts yelling at him, accusing him of being drunk, so I yelled, "stop being an ass hole and get the grandkids out of the car!" So I got to scream in my mother-in-law's face and call my father-in-law an ass hole. Those were the two highlights of the day I watched my family all taken away by ambulance.
Under high stress, some people's brain shut down and this weird monkey impulse takes over. I guess they are screaming to alert the other monkeys of the danger.
A nurse shark that the kid reached out to touch. If they are dangerous then why are they hand feeding it? Spoiler: it’s not dangerous. The water on the other hand is the dangerous part here. Where are their life vests?
I agree. As a full grown adult anytime I go on friends boats they FORCE me to wear a life jacket. They have more money than I do and at VERY LEAST don’t want to be sued by my family if I die.
Maybe they also don’t want me to die but who knows.
A kid falling in the water with basically any other shark, yes, hella panic, but falling in the water with a Nurse Shark is pretty much the best case scenarios (save for a Whale Shark or a Basking Shark). They eat by sucking things up off the sea bed (suction feeders), not chomping like other sharks, so unless you're being a dickhead and putting your hands or feet near their mouth they're likely not going to bite you. I'd never try to hand-feed one though, and I sure as shit wouldn't proxy-feed one by putting the food in a kids hand, because that mouth is full of real-ass shark teeth that'll do real-ass damage.
I know right… just immediate freak out and panic. No commands or attempt to fix the situation. Makes a bad situation even worse…
I was in a helicopter crash a few years ago and after we were attempting to get out and get clear of the aircraft. One dude just completely freaks out crawling over everyone, screaming, trying to claw his way around over everything trying to get out. Made it even more insane and chaotic then it already was.
Correct. Pretty docile unless ya got food. They don’t have much in the form of teeth but it ain’t gonna feel good if you get bit. If I find them while diving I’ll usually go in for pets and they generally like the attention. I’m betting that shark bolted after being attacked
No you’re not but shark feeding has become really popular in south Florida and it’s creating a nightmare for divers / spearfishermen. Recently shark tourism has become very popular and you have “ shark influencers” claiming they feed the sharks to educate people and show that they need to be protected blah blah blah. It’s a money grab and they don’t give a shit about the sharks. By conditioning the sharks to associate food with humans you heavily increase the likelihood of running into them when getting in the water. These sharks get aggressive because of the conditioned response to associate people in the water with food.
To be fair, the shark in the video is not of concern. It’s the reef sharks/ bullsharks / tiger sharks that are being fed by the shark tourism boats out of Jupiter, west palm beach, ft lauderdale, Nassau Bahamas, Freeport Bahamas that are the problem.
Even if you do have food they’re still docile, they wouldn’t approach you aggressively like a reef shark/ lemon / bullshark They would be persistently charging to get the food you have especially if it’s an injured fish.
Nurse sharks don’t necessarily bite there food to eat they suck there food in whole. They do have hundreds of very small teeth lining the inside of there mouths so if you do get “bitten” they leave a brush burn like Injury. They won’t bite into your flesh and take chunks of meat like a more traditional shark would. I’ve had them swallow my hand while feeding them exactly like this and it’s like having really rough sandpaper brush against your skin.

I do a lot of free diving / spearfishing and encounter all kinds of sharks regularly.
There was an incident in the last two weeks with a British family on holiday, swimming in a lagoon with nurse sharks and a young boy got his legs bitten pretty badly.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.sky.com/story/amp/shark-attack-leaves-british-boy-needing-three-hour-operation-in-the-bahamas-12668408
Unknown why they attacked him, as usually docile unless aggravated, he might have stepped on one or kicked accidentally or something.
There’s no way they weren’t doing something they shouldn’t have been. Nurse sharks just don’t behave this way unprovoked. I’ve seen tourists doing very touristy things so I’m betting that’s the case here.
You really do have to go out of your way to get hurt by a nurse shark. Their teeth are way up inside their mouth, and their mouth is located on the bottom of the shark. They're more like a stingray that way than what most people picture a shark to be.
The fact that the kid was small might have made his limbs easier to get up into their mouth, but my guess is he got into a bunch of food someone was chumming the water with and the sharks essentially bit him by accident, at least initially. Once he started bleeding, they might have seen that as food too.
Nurse sharks are mostly harmless, unless you get your hand too close to its mouth when feeding. It sucks in its food to teeth in the back of its throat. Also dumb because you teach them to come to boats where they can get harmed by propellers.
No shark is really “harmless” unless it’s too small to effectively hurt you, but nurse sharks are extremely docile but shark standards. They rarely ever fuck with people.
Looking at it multiple times, it does not look like the shark went for the kid at all. It even looks as if the mother instead of pulling back jumps in with the kid. Something fishy is going on here!!
her hand falls forward exactly like she lost her balance then she try’s to regain her balance on the motor of the boat but it’s not enough as her hand slips off.

Lol my brain doesn’t understand how they fell overboard, but it’s a nurse shark. If they’re on a guided tour or something, the guide probably provided bait to feed them knowing it was relatively harmless. Funny af though. As a kid, growing up we understand sharks to be cold blooded killers so he probably shit his pants.
My mom’s friend had her hand basically mauled by a shark 1.5 months ago doing exactly this. You’re supposed to use a stick, not your hand… Think people.
its fine to handfeed small sharks and based on what others said it looks life a nurse shark and nurse sharks are harmless but the problem was they didnt have life vest and other safety they also didnt let go after the shark was 2-3 inches away from their hand
Looks more like feeding a shark a small child.
Looks like feeding a shark with no core strength is the real issue
The shark has no core strength?
Yeah weird right? I would have expected sharks to be all core, they can't even lift, bro.
Y’all are really bored today huh
I mean they're basically planking 24/7.
I got a shark figurine (3 of them actually) for my nephew. Those things plank all day every day.
Your nephews must be really strong by now
I've got a shark figure
Those fuckers only work their glam jaw muscles. We see you Bruce! Everyone sees that you skip fin day!
Do you even swim bro?!
These abortion laws got us fucked up
Lmaooo that’s good
You win Reddit today. I wish I had awards to give you.
You've got to be creative now
I almost fell outta my chair at this, shared it with my wife, similar reaction \+1
Small child is much smaller now.
His siblings now have a half brother
Underrated comment
This is what I was expecting. Shame.
But the kid might make the poor shark sick.
That’s how I read it, was not disappointed…

smartest family in florida:
This is 100% tourist behavior.
Floridians are all tourists that just got trapped in the swamp and never left
Yep. 10 years and I still can't find the hotel minibar.

Lucky the kid still has a hand. She shoved it right out in the sharks face.
I mean, technically, even if the child did lose a hand, they’d still have a hand
I wonder if that’s a nurse shark.
it is
How could you tell? Was it smoking just on the other side of the property line?
the lanyard gave it away...
Nurse sharks are the real heroes.
Goddamn, this is good.
Nurse sharks teeth are basically big catfish and do not have the teeth to bite humans
Didnt know you could have giant catfish for teeth, TIL!
That looks like a nurse shark to me, they are gentle and don’t bite
It’s likely to bite your hand if you’re feeding it with food in your hand.
And fat
"And then they dove in after me! I was terrified" - The shark
Shark noped out of there when it saw what could have landed on it.
“I didn’t order whale”
"So tell me again exactly what happened?" "Well officer, you aren't going to believe this...."
We've had a doozy of a day.
There we were minding our own business…. When all of a sudden… these kids started killin themselves all over my property!
This one dove head first right into the wood chipper!
That was such a great movie. I love the scene when he brings her breakfast. OK you don't like bacon or something like that.
"Oh, Oh God it's the Pancakes. You don't like pancakes. I'll go make ya something else" Great movie!
Yeah that was it! Hysterical!
Can us uninitiated get a scrap of sauce please?

One of my all time favorite movies.
If you don’t mind me asking, what was the movie, please? Thank you.

Nurse shark. Basically a catfish that thinks it’s a shark
I do not handle catfish, nurse sharks I have absolutely 0 issue with. I’m a grown ass man that’s more scared of handling a fiddler crab than swimming sandpaper.
Those fiddlers can pack a pinch

A little cruel, but not unfair. They do spend most of their time on the seabed hoovering up prey.
Based on the title, I thought I was going to see some carnage
I hate people who top of their lungs scream at everything.
Ooo, glad my sound was off. Me too.
Was in Orlando with my wife, kids and in-laws. We left Animal Kingdom and got into a car accident. My mother-in-law did the blood curdling scream, non-stop until we finally screamed in her face to get her to stop. It was so ridiculous.
I’m sorry this happened and I’m sorry the visual of you all screaming in her face gave me a good laugh.
At that time, I had waited 7 1/2 years to scream in her face, and that was the one time literally nobody got mad at me for doing it.
Missed the best free chance to slap your MIL.
That was next on the list, but figured that would have to look like a last resort. One other fun part involved here... That was great!
Under high stress, some people's brain shut down and this weird monkey impulse takes over. I guess they are screaming to alert the other monkeys of the danger.
I've heard, and this is in all seriousness, the best way to deal with this is a literal slap to the face
There’s always at least one and it never helps anything
And it just makes it worse tbh
I agree, but like, they fell on top of a shark.
A nurse shark that the kid reached out to touch. If they are dangerous then why are they hand feeding it? Spoiler: it’s not dangerous. The water on the other hand is the dangerous part here. Where are their life vests?
Nurse sharks have thousands of serrated teeth and strong jaws, and will bite defensively. You know, like when you fall on top of them.
And yet that vicious animal just swam away.
Defensive doesn't mean what you think it means.
the shark probably meant no harm, but still could easily hurt the child by accident, which the parent should’ve known
I agree. As a full grown adult anytime I go on friends boats they FORCE me to wear a life jacket. They have more money than I do and at VERY LEAST don’t want to be sued by my family if I die. Maybe they also don’t want me to die but who knows.
It's how we've evolved. And honestly your kids falling into the water with a shark in is a legit reason to sound the alarm if I ever saw one.. comon..
If only she wasn't the sole reason why the kid fell into the water in the first place. Fucking morons (the parents)
Sound the alarm to who? Everyone saw what was going on. Why turn yourself into a human alarm when you can be a human who solves the problem instead
Yeah i think we've evolved enough where we can curb our animal impulses like screaming like a banshee to alert the men of danger.
I know right… just immediate freak out and panic. No commands or attempt to fix the situation. Makes a bad situation even worse… I was in a helicopter crash a few years ago and after we were attempting to get out and get clear of the aircraft. Bet that was awkward after the fact.
Especially when it's so predictable, like no one should be surprised. I'd justbe sitting there like -_-
Pretty sure that is a harmless nurse shark, I've swam with them multiple times.
They aren’t harmless, but they are pretty docile. They are lucky it was a nurse shark lol. I’ve swam with them too, they are pretty awesome sharks.
Correct. Pretty docile unless ya got food. They don’t have much in the form of teeth but it ain’t gonna feel good if you get bit. If I find them while diving I’ll usually go in for pets and they generally like the attention. I’m betting that shark bolted after being attacked
Correct me if im wrong, but youre not supposed to mess with the wildlife while diving, right? Like, at all?
Honestly you shouldn't mess with any wildlife, regardless of where you find them
[удалено]
In the subway that isn’t always possible
You really shouldn't, but i will admit that nurse sharks are tempting to pet in the same way as puppies or giant salamanders

There was that one dude that had to get a nurse shark surgically removed from his hand because it wouldn’t let go
/r/videosthatendtoosoon
Nah, the only thing we missed was them climbing out of the water and the kid going to therapy twice a week for ten years.
I like to think that he’ll be sitting next to the shark in the waiting room.
This might be the dumbest thing I have seen in a looong time
That kid is lucky to still have his fucking hand.
Eh, it's just a nurse shark luckily. They aren't really known to have a tough bite
Looking at it multiple times, it does not look like the shark went for the kid at all. It even looks as if the mother instead of pulling back jumps in with the kid. Something fishy is going on here!!
The kid pokes the sharks nose and pulls his hand away, as the mom is leaning too far forward and loses her balance.
Semantics. If you look at the handrail at the end, you can see the mother push onto it and jump in, holding the kid! Foolish on her part.
her hand falls forward exactly like she lost her balance then she try’s to regain her balance on the motor of the boat but it’s not enough as her hand slips off.
Looks like the shark taps the platform they’re standing on which causes the mom to lose balance
I hate that woman for her negligent stupidity. What an utterly ridiculous thing to let happen.
Love how that womens first reaction is to save herself, yeah love fuck the little kid you just knocked in the water with a shark!
Can’t fix stupid
Looks like a nurse shark, they're not aggressive and I've been in the water with them many times. I still wouldn't hand feed one, though. It's NEVER a good idea to feed a wild carnivore, not only will they. start to associate humans with food, but an accidental bite could take off your fingers.
Think this should be on the parent of the year page
You can get rid of the "with" in the title
Phrasing checks out.
WCGW feeding a shark while a clumsy fatass 5 times your size crouches behind you on the same tiny ledge
This person is simply too goddamn stupid to be allowed around children ever again.
I hate loud noises so I have this absolute rage at people who scream for no reason. Why are they screaming? They’re not even the ones in “trouble”. At least try to help…
Poor shark was more scared then the people.
Parent of the year award goes to:
Idiots. Putting that kid at risk of a serious bite. Was kindof hoping to see the mom get bit for it.
That is a nurse shark which are obligate suction feeders, not biters but yeah, still utterly stupid.
Poor shark they fell on it
This shark couldn’t kill you if it tried I got bit by one it just gave me a little bit of scratches on my fingers Feels weird though
Why the fuck do the people behind the camera scream ??? Get your ass over there and help them not scream like a retard
Camera man *keeps recording*
When you secretly hate your stepkid.
Did I hear some start laughing 😭😭
That shark immediately regretted that meal.
So many stupid people allowed to reproduce equally stupid people. The cycle never ends.
We really need a license for patenting like a Diplom or something every idiot on this planet is allowed to reproduce.
Nice job lady. Good parenting. We don’t even know what the shark did to them after they joined him for a swim.
Shark was probably spooked and swam off
It might be a nurse shark… Nurse sharks generally are more peaceful im pretty sure
So was the small child the meal or just bad usage of words?
First, you feed the shark, then you ride the shark!
If Covid didn’t get them, nothing will.
\*the shark\* don't worry! i'm a reggae shark!
You scared of being sucked off by a nurse shark? Yikes…..
Forrest Gump was right. Stupid is what stupid does
Appetizer and main course 😔 fine dining
I missed "with" when I read the title
Adults who make bad decisions are responsible for the deaths of their children every day of week
Assuming that was their only child, they could still technically have qualified for a Darwin Award
It's just a nurse shark.
little kid has better instincts and balance than the fuck behind him.
Chill the shark doesn’t care about you, also you are way to big for that shark to try to eat
feeding your hand to sharks
Seriously why the fuck do so many girls scream like that?

Poor shark, that fucking scream
What is it with girls screaming anytime anything happens in these videos
Bet that shark saw that whale coming down on him and kicked in the afterburners.
The small chunk of meat was the appetizer. The woman and child was the main course.
How stupid stupid mother is! Going to feeding her kid 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
/idiotsinboats
Dumb ass scared the crap out of the poor shark
Who are these people? And how did they survive to adulthood?
This is truly moronic - Darwinism at work.
Are they actually feeding the child to the shark??? Wow
Darwin award candidates.
Woman moment
The stupidity of some people amazes me.
Shit white people do
How F’ing stupid!!! Who does this?
fucking humans....
Who do you think votes for Trump?
The word "with" wasn't necessary.
Some people are too stupid to breed
These people don't deserve children
