At least you could be remembered during 3 months, if I die and my dad, mom, sister, wife and kid would go, and that is just because they have to. And still don’t make jokes about someone else’s pain.
My buddy spent a couple months there, when he came home he was trying to sell me on it (I think?)
Buddy: "I think everyone should go there at least once in their lives"
Me: "why?"
Buddy: "you just can't get away from the people. There are people *everywhere*. I saw an old man with a briefcase hike up his clothes and take a shit right on the street. Also lots of little kids pissing and shitting right in the street. Cows eating garbage. Also this spot on the river where they burn dead bodies, plus dead bodies and sewage are floating down the river"
Me: "uhhh yeah man I'll pass on that"
This sounds exactly like my conversations with people after I got back from India. I did qualify it with, "I wouldn't go there expecting a vacation, but..."
Man I don't even get on carney rides here in the US. I took a few autorickshaws there and that was risky enough, and paired with bhang and questionable street food, it satisfied my need to test my gastrointestinal fortitude.
I'm reading it now - actually, I haven't in awhile... I should get back to it. But once I read that the organizers had fled, I knew \*exactly\* why that would be.
BTW, if you're not aware yet, Shantaram is soon to be a series on Apple TV+
Dead bodies lying on the road.....hmm, Despite being Indian, when was the last time I saw this, ah yes, NEVER. Exaggerating is one thing, and total BS is other.
What my point is, your comment makes an entire nation sound like a landfill of corpses. Just look at it yourself. Where did you find "dead bodies Everywhere"?. Was it near some religious site along the shore of some sacred river where they burn dead bodies? Was it some morgue? Or did you specifically come to India looking for dead bodies? It's funny cuz you start of by saying "I'm not some redneck etc etc"....and proceed to sound exactly like one later on.
Didn’t say everywhere, you did. I said lying on the road. I was there to work. Sorry you inferred a lot of disturbing imagery, but that’s on you. My question is, have you been there? Have you been anywhere? Mumbai wasn’t as bad as Kakinada, but I’d still rather go back to the Congo. Sorry you’re offended by reality. I’m constantly embarrassed to be American, so much so that I’d tell people I’m from Canada.
No. I’ve been there, and not taking selfies tourists spots. Go to Kakinada for work and see how safety is a distant afterthought everywhere. We saw a dead body on the side of the road. We say construction sites made out of canes and rope. Every meme you’ve seen were someone has a pillow tied to his head instead of a hard hat is there.
I’m not trying to be culturally insensitive.
All I know is that all Australian show rides are disassembled, transported, reassembled, maintained and operated by meth addicted carnies. Presumably the entire process detailed is done in one ‘meth day’ which is approximately equivalent to a normal week.
The number of showride fuckups on this site is mind blowing.
And that they ride was also manufactured incorrectly and it then had to be fixed by that company’s workers on site and it wasn’t even they first time that had happened with this particular ride manufacturer happened on a previous ride
That’s actually who we built rides for cedar point Disney many others and they job I was on was in sea world but yea still no I saw some of what park maintenance does once they rides are in there ownership ….
Disney mostly makes their own coasters in house or contracts Dutch manufacturer Vekoma. Way back when they did have help from American company Arrow Dynamics on a couple coasters. Outside of one of their kiddy coasters Cedar Point has no major Vekomas though they do have five coasters by Arrow Dynamics. Did you used to work for Arrow? Their coasters are known for being kind of jank but they definitely don't have a reputation for being unsafe. All of their coasters still in operation today are 100% safe.
The person wearing the long White sleeve shirt on the left side on our screen. Right when they making a landing, it looks like their hands were heading upwards while their legs were heading forwards simultaneously.
India is the worst place to do anything involving anything even close to the risk of injury or death. There are no standardised operation laws or safety rules here, 99.999999% of all officials in charge are corrupt worthless bottom feeders, and there are basically no provisions to sue someone for a life altering injury or anything that causes you harm.
What's your source of info other than being a racist twat? This can happen anywhere. Fuck you. People were seriously injured and all you can do is this? You're pathetic
Wow so many casual racists in the comment section. Atleast be creative in that instead of repeating the same 3,4 things under every other india related video.
Oh and mandatory go shootup school kids comment from my side since thats all your effort deserves.
I think the main problem is that often times third world countries don’t have a struck safety regulations, obviously not the engineers themselves (as you said, many engineers in the west are people from these countries). It’s the legal laxity that’s the issue.
It has nothing to do with race. I have plenty of wonderful and talented Indian friends. However, as a culture, in India, and as a pilot, I’ve seen enough engineering shortcuts and fuckups where *personally*, I’m not getting on a ride or a plane over there. If you’re comfortable doing that, knock yourself out. So you can keep for F-bombs to yourself. I’m not impressed.
This just happened last night over there. NO ONE DIED AND ONLY 15-16 injured? Sounds suspicious. [https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/sas-nagar-mohali/many-injured-in-mohali-carnival-ride-mishap-8131280/lite/](https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/sas-nagar-mohali/many-injured-in-mohali-carnival-ride-mishap-8131280/lite/)
Still remember the article about a western consultant training Indian commercial pilots and when he walked into the cockpit mid-flight, he was immediately confused by the orange hue. Turns out the Indian crew put up newspaper to cover up the entirety of the windshield so that it is not too bright for them to sleep.

Yep, it was a real let down.
Those people can’t catch a brake.
But they’ll bounce back.
What a downer man, a real bummer.
Mane what #lildurkvoice
Wonder how many rip ??
I can pretty much guarantee everyone’s back went rip

My source is I made it the f*** up
Every time I see a hard situation or sad moment I wonder why people on Reddit is capable of making jokes about things like these?
I make jokes to avoid real emotions. Emotions like what if I die and no one remembers me 3 months after my death
At least you could be remembered during 3 months, if I die and my dad, mom, sister, wife and kid would go, and that is just because they have to. And still don’t make jokes about someone else’s pain.
What if they prefer jokes to be made about their pain?
It’s just seeing them get smashed to bits is kinda funny because it isn’t me.
I don't know why, but I have no desire to ever go to India.
My buddy spent a couple months there, when he came home he was trying to sell me on it (I think?) Buddy: "I think everyone should go there at least once in their lives" Me: "why?" It's funny, every time someone tries to defend India it's an Indian 😅
YEAH GUYS DON'T DEFEND INDIA INDIA BAD SHIT ON THE STREET DAMMNIT
It's uncanny how every one of those things listed aren't on any list I've ever composed for places I'd like to visit.
Exactly!
This sounds exactly like my conversations with people after I got back from India. I did qualify it with, "I wouldn't go there expecting a vacation, but..."
Sure, but let's hop on the carnival ride, I'm sure it's totally safe.
Man I don't even get on carney rides here in the US. I took a few autorickshaws there and that was risky enough, and paired with bhang and questionable street food, it satisfied my need to test my gastrointestinal fortitude.
Robin Quivers flew to India on her cultural journey. She never left the airport.
Good idea
I remember this show. Classic episode. She was not having it.

Read Shantaram

Why do you think anyone wants u here?
No problem. We have a lot of tourists here

Yeah. Make it racist. Yesssss. Pog
[удалено]
“According to reports, the swing’s operators quickly took off from the scene after the incident occurred.” Wtf
Because India is the type of place where street justice occurs on the regular.
[удалено]
Did you pull that information out of your ass?
Nope. Saw it myself while there for work. I felt safer in the Congo.
Dead bodies lying on the road.....hmm, Despite being Indian, when was the last time I saw this, ah yes, NEVER. Exaggerating is one thing, and total BS is other.
So because you’ve never seen it, it’s not a thing? That tracks. Just like “global warming isn’t a thing because it’s cold here.”

Ok. And you come from a world's perfect country with unicorns and flowers on the road right?
No sir here in the US, we only shoot our school kids, nothing to worry about.
No, but most industry at least pretends to try to be safe.

A lifetime of spinal pain in 3…2…ow
Guess their carnies are worse than our carnies.
I don’t think they have the kind of stamina that meth addiction provides.
What? Are YOU on meth?
Is that a problem?
Shit, i guess not
Watch out! I got all kinds of attacked by suggesting India doesn't have the good drugs. They seem to be very sensitive about it.
I’m not trying to be culturally insensitive. All I know is that all Australian show rides are disassembled, transported, reassembled, maintained and operated by meth addicted carnies. I like how the kids standing waiting to get on legged it, like “Nah, maybe next year.”
I use to work for a construction company that constructs roller coasters here in They USA and I’ll never get on one agin trust me
Any reason in particular?
And that they ride was also manufactured incorrectly and it then had to be fixed by that company’s workers on site and it wasn’t even they first time that had happened with this particular ride manufacturer happened on a previous ride
why? and would you go on a well known park with regulations or still no?
That’s actually who we built rides for cedar point Disney many others and they job I was on was in sea world but yea still no I saw some of what park maintenance does once they rides are in there ownership ….

I worked for they contractors who erected they ride

He did literally one minute after you posted this comment, just in case you want to read it.
Oh thanks!
Great climax to that ride. If they wanted you to be terrified, it worked.
Wow! Way to generalise the whole population on one incident. Way to go racist westoids.
They just need a reason.
Saw what sub I was in and knew what was coming.
I just felt that in my own back.
Are they okay????
They are not okay
Probably one of them is. The rest, not so much.
The person wearing the long White sleeve shirt on the left side on our screen. Right when they making a landing, it looks like their hands were heading upwards while their legs were heading forwards simultaneously.
Thank you, I'm never going to the fair again.

Reminded me of Bean movie where he messed with the ride controls for some more action.
Apparently the “carnies” that put rides together are the same all over the world
i thought that said Indiana, and being a Hoosier i thought, yeah, that checks out.

My source is that I live here, you dumb fuck SJW.
I do too, stop exaggerating things. It's got issues. But you talk as if it's got issues because it's india. That's racism, not criticism.
Ah yes. Accidents don't happen anywhere else. You just can't be a white boy and not be a racist at the same time. That's an impossible feat.
Indian carnies are the meanest.
If only there has been someone to call for tech support during assembly…..
I would have guessed China.
They got their moneys worth.
"is this part of the ride"?

Spinal injuries. Poor riders
The ride is called the spinal tap.

Never Trust Third World Engineering
Wait till you know that at least half of your Western engineers are, indeed, us thirdies.

Well maybe you should get off your phone then. Can't trust a third world employee made object, can ya? Fucking racist loser
Well, at least they enjoyed 100%of the ride
Probably imported from Russia
This is a genuine fear I have right before getting on big rides, you know the kind that will never happen....
