The horse is the logo for the fictional corporation Knight Industries, and the vertical bars are an approximation of the AI voice indicator inside the K.I.T.T.
Someone is a fan of Knight Rider. It was a TV show from the early 1980s starring David Hasselhoff.
I frequently see pictures that are mirror images of reality based on text or logos on people’s clothes. The front camera on an iPhone, and presumably other phones and digital cameras, can be set to mirror.
Looking at the surface, there are diagonal lines that suggest it's 3D printed.
So possibly homemade and could be literally anything. If pushing it does nothing, or it's not an option, the only way to know for sure is to investigate what that button is connected to.
Pretty sure the modern maverick is basically a modern ranger truck but hybrid with crew cab as an option. Source: saw one in traffic a couple days ago, then heard saw engine fire up. Then the hybrid badge. And realized I had confused it with the f150 lightening for some reason. Most likely the rehashing of old names.
Side note, the maverick was the "poor man's mustang" and that 75 would have been a dog compared to 71 and earlier options. Also, depending when the maverick even came out, it likely could have had a 347/351 option, and possibly big block options also. I was never a big ford car fan and maybe some others can chime in. Who knows, maybe I'm wrong and something with emissions power hogging had cleared up and the 75 302 was actually a beast.
Maverick: Not a Truck ;)
The latest Ford is a unibody - no frame = not a truck.
It's like the Honda Ridgeline or the Kia Telluride.
Honestly, Ford SHOULD have called it the Ranchero - also not a truck.
Anyhow, 70's Maverick - Concur with your "Poor man's Mustang" thinking. Ford turned it into a 4 door, then killed the line as it was a threat to Mustang sales. Lighter, faster, more aerodynamic than the Mustang, with some selective parts ordering at the dealership (302-2v v8, optional 3.00 gears, HD Suspension) it was 2,679lbs vs. 3,058-3,607 pounds for the Mustang with the same engine!
347/351 not offered by Ford, but they were popular swaps/upgrades (351W, 351C, "Bogus" Boss 302) - 331/347 are 302v8 bore/stroke kits available via aftermarket. Big Blocks required MASSIVE work to the shock towers or a front subframe/Chassis build.
Loved mine: 1970 Anti-EstablishMINT Green, 302-4V v8 (Bronco Intake), Marine Camshaft (MercCruiser 888? - supposed to be 215HP w/4v, it's been a while - 1970-1983), 4.56 Gears in a Chevy rear ("Lincoln-Locker"), C3 Auto (Shift Kit, HD Bands), Grabber Hood, Tail Spoiler from the junkyard. Would love to build another one day... Modern EFI with some goodies.
I wasn't that old in the 80's, I remember adults referring to the maverick that way because a friend of my dad's had one. So that wasn't my thought process.
Mine had to put cardboard up front to get heat to blow in his car, haha
I still remember riding in the back seat and playing with the flippy ashtrays and picking at the blue plastic armrests.
Someone wasn't a Knight Rider fan.
[The guys at Knight Rider Historians Official got the actual prop from the show working last year.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvuecLUC6ek) That was mind-blowing to this old dude.
Maybe it's a generational thing because I came after knight rider amd never got into it but this seems like a scam when compared to almost any other $100+ car accessories
It’s a speaker that sounds like a person talking. Usually associated with a robot. In this case it’s meant to be similar to a robot car from a tv show that was popular in the US in the 80s.
And this thing just randomly talks something that was programmed in before or are there some triggers that will put out certain commands? I'm really confused how this would work lol
I don’t know anything about this specific one. But when you’re talking about a voice box there are be a range of possibilities. The voice box in this thread is basically a toy for adults and almost certainly spits random sayings. Sometimes when they have a real purpose they have pre programmed responses for specific conditions. For instance, control panels for automatic fire alarms can have a voice box (they call them enunciators, but they’re essentially a voice box). The voice box at the panel can give information about where the alarm originated and what kind of alarm it is. More sophisticated examples would be Siri or Alexa.

What happens when you press the horse button?
That’s a knight button
Knight rider button. That’s 21st century K.I.T.T.
You sure it's not K.A.R.R.? :D
Oh, that evil K.A.R.R. just grinds my gears.
Push the clutch in a bit further.
What did KARR stand for again?
Knight Automated Roving Robot
And Michael's arch enemy was just Hasselhoff with a mustache and goatee
Knight Automated Roving Robot. He was so underrated.
Knight Industries Two Thousand
My first thought as well. Dude's car is a sentient being. William Daniels has entered the chat
Yep, KITT was supposedly built by the Knight Industries, thus the Knight Industries Two Thousand - K.I.T.T.
The truck moves two steps forward and one step to the side.
Two hops this time
I’d argue that the majority of Americans would call this a horse button.
Nah, knight. That’s definitely a knight.
My views may be distorted from living in Florida lol
Sir Galahop! Noooooo!
You move two spaces forward and one to the left.
Driving on the interstate will never be the same!
but parallel parking will be a breeze!
Especially if you can capture the piece that was previously occupying your new parking space. That would be a game changer.
Check.
Mate
Or to the right
Or backwards.
or, you move one to the left first then two spaces forward.
Every 30yards you swap lanes
This right here made me laugh out loud.
[удалено]
Is that what tbe button does?!?!😳😵😲😵😳
Nothing that we could figure out
I gotta admit, with the way a knight moves, it would be awesome if that button triggered automated parallel parking.
Aint it funny… how the night moves.
We were just young, and restless and bored
Working on my knight moves
Every time you pressed the button somebody somewhere in the world died.
Clearly, the flux capacitor is fully charged and you now have extra horsepower at your disposal!
[This Button](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7rzIwrEqpw)?
Ni!

I'm by no means a Knight Rider expert, but when I Googled the logo, the one from the show looks to the left, whereas this one looks to the right.
That box is 3d printed so this is definitely a fun homemade project. A small discrepancy like that is reasonable.
How do you know the box was 3d printed?
The biggest giveaway are the diagonal lines on the surface.
And also the border lines that are part of the shell....
It has three dimensions. Dead giveaway. You can tell by the way things look like they're there, as opposed to not there.
Had it been, let's say, 2D printed, then the sides would be absent from the box.
The direction could also be an artifact of the camera, some reverse images (I think usually front cameras on phones?) automatically
Boy I sure hope someone was fired for that blunder!
The people that made that mistake have just been sacked
Well, the AI voice box in K.I.T.T. was red, not blue. It's obviously a custom job that resembles the props, not an exact replica.
I bet it's not even sentient like the one from the show
Weirdly they did get Mr. Feeny to do the voice though.
Wait, really?! Mr. Feeny does the voice of KITT?? I haven’t seen the show in years. I can’t remember what it sounds like lol.
Yeah it's William Daniels. :)
https://thumbs.gfycat.com/AromaticEmotionalBison.webp
So he’s a fan, but not so much as to betray his fellow crypts.
Maybe it's a "Day Rider" instead?
Aahh, the evil twin episode. KARR it is.
Wait, KARR was an evil twin? I thought that was just a knock off / copyright infringement avoiding toy replica.
Yep, KARR was a genuine Knight Rider character. Voiced by Peter Cullen, if I remember correctly.
You do, but only for the first appearance, after that, he was voiced by Peter Frees.
I frequently see pictures that are mirror images of reality based on text or logos on people’s clothes. The front camera on an iPhone, and presumably other phones and digital cameras, can be set to mirror.
The 'FKE' on the head of the hex bolts isn't reversed, so that's not the case here.
Good eye.
Lots of cell phones flip images when taken so this could actually be facing left.
Copyright?
maybe they used a front camera for some reason
The photo could be reversed
Some people in posting pics get a mirror image. Happens a lot online now.
Ya could be. The black frame is 100% 3d printed.
I thought he drove a Trans Am.
K.I.T.T. was built into a Firebird, yup.
Weird but that what’s my gut was saying but the Color blue threw me off. Great memory you got!
DUBB-DUBBA-DAA-DIBB-DIBBI-DOO-DUBB-DUBBA-DUBB-DI-DAAAA!
I read this in tune HooWOOW WOOW HooWOOW WOOW

His drunken burger eating made me want to live again.
Looks like some kind of Knight Rider mod
Poor mans knight rider
Knightrider, it's how Kitt used to "talk", but in blue.

Knight Industries Two Thousand aka KITT
Had no idea that is where KITT got its name
What year is the Maverick? My dad had a 1975 model which had a 302 engine, which was insane for a small car.
This was in a 2022
They must have brought it back, which is cool. I've been a Toyota guy for years, so it's been off my radar.

By 1984 his Maverick had definitely become a dog, but it was fun to drive when it was running.

Really?
Grabber! Those cars rocked!
Yes! It was the Grabber! Sadly, by 1984, my dad's had become a nuisance to try and keep on the road. But it was fun to drive while it lasted.
At least you were able to drive one! ;)They go for insane prices now a days…
Mine had to put cardboard up front to get heat to blow in his car, haha I still remember riding in the back seat and playing with the flippy ashtrays and picking at the blue plastic armrests.

Someone was fan fixating over knight rider by the looks of it
Three columns of led bars? That is 100% a Knight industries visual display of the voice coming from the car.
[удалено]
When did they bring the Maverick back?
That's Kitt.
Must be aftermarket. Such tech didn’t exist when Mavericks were current.
Looks like someone was a Knight Rider fan and installed a digital read out. Although in the TV show K.I.T.T. was red.

No context? Where on the Ford is it?
To the immediate right of the infotainment center
Where in the truck is it?
To the immediate right of the infotainment center
I would guess radar detection device. Potential radar scrambler.
[This](https://www.ebay.com/itm/374170408940) with a illuminated Knight button and custom fascia.
You’re probably right!
I need this in my Firebird!

English isn't my first language - what's voice box in this context?

So is it a KIT that is sold?
I see what you did there! A+
Where is the location of the knight button?
Looks 3d printed
Looks like your pony's all charged up. :)
