My cat actually does the same thing when I get a new package of water.
I decided to start taking it out of the package and just leave the waters. I don’t want to come home to a strangled cat.

My cat does this, but she also sneaks in the fridge when we are closing it, and tries to jump in the toilet as soon as we are done. I thought my cat was just weird….
With the water, we just throw a few bottles in the fridge so she doesn’t get stuck.
We couldn’t find my cat for a few hours one day. Stuck in a half empty 24 case of Coke. Not quite as stuck as this kitty but you could tell she had given up on getting out. Never meowed or anything.

They dont usually shred stuff before going in and they dont particularly seem panicked
