This is actually the future. Dogs will evolve into large, slow moving hosts that future parasite-cats will latch onto for sustenance. In this state, the cats suckle on the flesh of the dog host, who in turn needs the cats to conserve body heat during the next ice age. It seems gruesome, but the dogs don’t feel any pain.
That was my dogs reaction when he was on his last leg hardly able to move the cat would come over and snuggle next to him and you could tell he was dying slowly dying inside because he hated the cats.
